Authentic onsen experience you can enjoy in Japan. Despite the language barrier and remoteness of the location, their staff are welcoming and warm, food is excellent and fresh, definitely love it.

"We had an absolutely amazing stay and only wish we had booked for longer! This ryokan is a true gem in Japan and easily the best place we have ever stayed. The atmosphere is incredibly peaceful, and both the onsen and the rooms are so relaxing—we’re leaving feeling completely rejuvenated. The highlight, however, was the staff; they are an amazing, lovely team who made us feel so welcome. Also, the food is spectacular and definitely worthy of a Michelin star. We will definitely be returning for a two-week stay next time

Izunohana was my first luxury hot spring inn, and I was completely satisfied! I'd love to return as a treat.
[Room]
I stayed at Tsubaki on January 13th. It was a detached room, but it was new, clean, and comfortable. There are stairs to get to and from meals, so please be careful if you have weak legs.
[Meals]
The variety of dishes lived up to the name "Cuisine Inn," and I was very satisfied with both the quantity and quality. Everything was delicious, so it's a bit difficult to choose, but I particularly liked the chawanmushi, Arima-ni, and splendid alfonsino shabu-shabu. Personally, I was particularly impressed by the pairing of the chawanmushi with the sake exclusive to Izunohana. Dinner starts at 5:30 PM or 5:00 PM, so I highly recommend having a light lunch. For breakfast, they served the simmered alfonsino head, which was also served for dinner, which added a touch of entertainment.
[Bath]
The bath was also excellent. The private open-air bath was spacious enough for a long soak. I also used the private open-air bath from 6:30 AM, and enjoyed the sunrise view. Reservations made through the official website qualify for free use of the private open-air bath, so please make your reservation through the official website.
[Access]
I traveled to Izu by train, so they picked me up at Izukogen Station. Pick-up is also available at Futo Station.
[Overall Review]
The staff were all friendly and provided a comfortable, attentive service. I'm really glad that Izunohana was my first luxury hot spring inn. I'd definitely like to visit again.

I stayed in the Shobu room for two days and one night, starting on November 20th.
First of all, the food was outstanding; both dinner and breakfast were by far the best I've had at any ryokan I've ever had.
The alfonsino shabu-shabu for dinner was already satisfying, but the next day they served me a simmered dish using the same alfonsino head as the shabu-shabu, so the mealtimes continued to be a treat.
A local cat happened to pass by during dinner, which was an unexpected treat.
The hospitality was also excellent, and I was impressed by the staff's friendly attitude.
You can check in to your room, so you can rest right there. I really felt the hotel was considerate in ensuring that you could quickly recover from the fatigue of your trip.
The staff were always kind, so it was a great way to soothe your tired body and mind after work.
The website states that the main building has better views from the rooms, but the annex rooms were also wonderful.
We were blessed with beautiful weather, as the ocean was beautiful, and at night we were able to enjoy a starry sky (we even saw a few shooting stars).
The bath attached to our room was a little small, but still spacious enough for a relaxing soak, and it was great that everything could be done from within the room.
If you'd like to enjoy a larger bath, you can also use the private bath in the main building.
The inn's location is a little far from Izukogen Station and off a main road, so I thought it might be difficult to get there by car.
However, they provide a shuttle to and from Izukogen Station, so it wasn't an inconvenience.
They played relaxing music in the car, which was a relief for my tired body after a long journey.
The quiet location makes it a great place to relax, even for those weary of the hustle and bustle of the city.
I've stayed at inns with detached rooms several times, and this is hands down the best.
I'd definitely like to stay again.

November 2nd - 3rd, Cosmos, 2 people
Located in a quiet location about a 15-minute drive from Izukogen Station.
Stepping inside, you're greeted by the rustling bamboo grove and the pleasant sounds of birdsong, creating a special space that makes you forget your daily routine.
・Accommodation/Hospitality
We stayed in the detached "Cosmos," located down a stone-paved staircase from the entrance. Our room was spacious, sunny, and cozy.
The staff were always smiling, and their polite and friendly service naturally made us feel happy too.
・Baths
All detached buildings have indoor baths and ample amenities.
... From appetizers to grilled dishes, hot pot, and rice porridge to finish, every dish was carefully prepared and incredibly delicious.
The next morning's breakfast was also sumptuous, featuring simmered golden-eyed snapper, filleted horse mackerel, and squid sashimi. It was a truly luxurious experience.
Access/Transportation
Transportation is provided to and from the inn.
On the way back, they kindly took us along a different coastline than the one we used on the way there, and the inn's thoughtful attention to detail was evident right to the very end.
It was a relaxing experience, both body and mind, and a wonderful memory. I would wholeheartedly recommend this inn.

Be wary of this hotel! The hotel promotional images are realistic! Don't just look at the atmosphere! It's incredibly remote! Especially Room 10, which I stayed in this time, was right next to a sewer! It was incredibly smelly. At night, it was pitch black, smelly, and inconvenient for walking or buying food. The entire hotel is tucked away under a staircase halfway along a winding mountain road, making it incredibly hidden if you're driving by. As for dining, it's best to book the hotel's kaiseki meals in advance, otherwise you'll be left wanting. The hotel's prices are generally overpriced, and there's not much to see or eat at Ito Station. Overall, I think anyone who thinks this room rate is high will be disappointed. But if you think this hotel is cheap, ignore my words.

The seafood sashimi portion was a little small, but the meal was satisfying.
The stairs from the parking lot to the front room were difficult for me, as I have bad knees.

Dinner and breakfast were all delicious. The chef's technique and sense of presentation are amazing! I was full from the side dishes of the Sakura shrimp rice at dinner, so I had them make it into rice balls and ate it in the middle of the night. However... although everyone praises the rice highly, to me it was just average ^^; We use Tsuyahime rice from Yamagata ❕ The dressing for the breakfast salad was really tasty, so I'll definitely go back ^^v It can't be helped since it's built on a slope, but there were a lot of stairs, which was a bit tiring~ The foreign girl in charge was very friendly and I was happy that she asked me "Would you like water?" towards the end of breakfast. Thank you (人''▽`)☆

If you are not traveling by car, I would not recommend this hotel. Also, don’t bring large luggage with you.
