Hokkaido, Furano, 4-1 Sakae-machi 🧭 Map
Loved staying in the hotel. Very traditional Japanese style hotel. Room has your own heater and AC for summer. Sound insulation is pretty good. Room has plenty of space for my one person room. The only problem that I can't give 5 star is the bathroom. Seems like there's only 2 male and 2 female baths in the whole hotel, they are single people bath like they have in normal Japanese house. I only used...
The price is more economical, parking is convenient, there is a drink machine, and the boss is very nice. I arrived half an hour late that day, but the boss was waiting for me. I had to bring my own towels for showering and mouthwash. There is a supermarket nearby. There are no restaurants nearby before 9 a.m., and takeout is only available at the train station. It is recommended to buy breakfast at...
There is a TV in the room, and the Japanese-style room is also large. There is only one room for bathing, so you have to wait for a long time when there are many people. There are supermarkets, new shopping malls and restaurants within a ten-minute walk.
The location is a bit remote, so it's relatively quiet, and the room size is adequate! There are no restaurants/shops nearby, it takes 6-7 minutes to walk, and there is only one shower room, so you have to wait in line! The boss used a translator to communicate with me, so there was no problem!
It's pretty good, with a local style. Furano is a beautiful place, but local accommodations are in short supply. This time I booked a hotel next to JR station because I need to go back and forth to Kitanomine Ski Resort every day. If you are considering a limited budget, you can stay here. If you want more convenience, I recommend staying at Kitanomine or the New Furano Prince Hotel, because going...
The room is Japanese style, no air conditioning, too hot at night.

Hokkaido, Furano, 8-13 Midorimachi 🧭 Map
Walked 18 minutes from the train station to the B&B, didn't realize the owner offered a shuttle service. Accommodation in the Furano area during the snow season tends to be tight and pricey, so their rates are quite affordable.
You can experience a Japanese-style tatami room. The owner is friendly. The facilities are old. However, it's acceptable for the price.
The facilities of the B&B are in line with the website. Although the equipment is a bit dated, it is generally kept clean. The host of the B&B is very enthusiastic and you can ask him for assistance if you need anything.
I found the accommodation is great value if you are solo traveler but don't want to stay in hostel. Free parking is a bonus and close to Lawson and Coop (supermarket) which is convenient. The downside is they don't have a communal kitchen and you have to ask owner for hot water which I found a little bit inconvenience.
A bit old, insufficient hot water supply
Spacious room, 10 minutes walk from the station

The shower was a little old, but the room had been renovated and was very clean. The beds had curtains, so even though it was a guesthouse, I was able to have some privacy. The price was also reasonable, even during the holidays. If I ever go to Hakodate again, I'd definitely like to stay here again.
the location is good, about 1 km far from the shopping street. the room is lovely also.
Guest house Hakodate Bay is super nice and well located it’s an easy walk over to the train station and the owner is super kind and friendly, he’ll even give some really good restaurant recommendations the rooms are a bit packed but well worth it. I highly recommend it for those on the go solo travelers, and if you’re a huge one piece fan there’s a picture frame in the stairwell that has a one piece...
The location is near the station and very close to the scenic spots. It is very convenient. Although it is not until three o'clock, I can go out to play while leaving my luggage there. I can buy things at convenience and make a meal there. The boss is very friendly.
The location is easy to find from Hakodate Station, there are many tourist spots within walking distance, and the tram and bus are also convenient to use.
This hostel still needs a little improvement in terms of hygiene, but I personally think it's okay. The boss is very welcoming, and most importantly, the must-see attractions in Hakodate are very close to this hostel and it only takes about ten minutes to walk. So. You can still choose a day or two!

The room for three people was small, but the layout was compact, and it even had a small dressing table. There was an ensuite bathroom in the room, and other toilets, washbasins, and a shared shower in the hallway. So, even with three people, using the toilet and showering wasn't cramped. The owner was very friendly. A great stay!
He had lice; his wife and kids were bitten, and he even picked one out himself.
The room is nice and clean. Amenities is complete. Location is not far from station and located in quiet environment. The host is humble and helpful. I recommend this hotel.
Nice hotel. Good location. Nice service. Very helpful staff.
The hotel here is great. The owner is a very kind uncle. He originally said that he couldn't check me in after 10pm. After a phone call, he was willing to wait for me until after 11pm. As soon as I entered the house, he carefully wiped the water off my suitcase with a dry cloth. He also gave me a bag of snacks when I checked out.
A typical Japanese-style B&B with two floors, run by the owner and his family with great care, and decorated in Japanese-Western style. Public restrooms but convenient. It's very close to Hakodate Station, and just around the corner is the morning market, making it very convenient for eating and drinking!

Overall is excellence. I like dining room that have tea, coffee. But the breakfast need to improve since the portion is small. Moreover, I can not accept the rule about not allowing kid under 6 year to stay here.
The entire room and public areas were incredibly clean! The front desk staff were very welcoming and spoke excellent English. There's also plenty of parking right outside the entrance. Just a heads-up, you have to switch to indoor slippers upon entering the hotel. If you plan on going in and out frequently, I'd recommend wearing shoes that are easy to slip on and off at the door. The breakfast was...
Nice cosy stay with great breakfast, friendly staff. Driving required
We were here scouting a bit for the coming winter and really liked the location very close to the slopes and also a few restaurants a short walk away. Downside perhaps that no Lawson or similar in the immediate surroundings but maybe there was some other minimart around the lift station. Just spent a night here so not much time to drift around the area. Easy parking in front, fast check in and a...

We stayed for one wonderful week, with 1 room for 3, and 1 double room for 1. Our hosts provided for everything, including delicious dinners, one a sushi dinner and the other a pork based dinner. This pension was a delightful find for our first trip to the Niseko ski area. It was about 200 yards from the Annupuri gondola and quad chair. Easy check in, host very helpful during the stay, good breakfast.
The boss is very nice, the breakfast is rich, and the location is close to Elf Terrace. Overall, I am satisfied. I hope I have the opportunity to stay here again in the future.
Really beautiful property. Everything was super clean and in great condition. The bath is amazing and perfect for recovery after skiing all day! Jun made us amazing food for breakfast and lunch when we needed it, overall I would come again.
This place is very good. The rooms are clean, good service, cute accommodations. My wife likes it very much.
A very beautiful location that is unfortunately a bit too far away if you don't have a car. But the host is very friendly. Room is fine. The breakfast too. It might be useful to also make a dinner reservation. We had not done that and there is not much to be found in the area

The room was clean and spacious! The staff was friendly and the location was remote!
It feels homely, can tell the owner put a lot of thoughts into the decoration and ensuring guests have a good experience. Such as sanitary pad in the bathroom for emergency. The owner even sell some stuffs like kimono and handicrafts.
The room is located in the middle of the mountain. It is a private room. You need to go downstairs to take a shower. Maybe I am not used to living there, but the overall feeling is very good. This time I chose the plan without breakfast to experience the feeling of living in the countryside.
Delicious traditional Japanese breakfast. Friendly staff, very kind and attentive. Lovely communal living area with cozy fireplace. The snowmobile and ice fishing tours are unique winter experiences. Great value for money all around!
Alright. Careful and available team
Cozy home with quirky decor and friendly staff. We stayed in the Dolphin room and did not hear any of the other guests. Laundry available for a fee, shared refrigerator. Staff was very attentive to us; they gave us fresh brewed coffee without our requesting it, like they were reading my mind! We don’t speak Japanese, and did just fine with the help of the hosts’ English.

I really love this winkel village! It's just a short walk to Asarigawaonsen Ski Resort for skiing. We can enjoy BBQs even in winter and the private outdoor onsen right outside the room is a huge bonus for my family. Definitely planning to return! Great value for the money. Note: We took a taxi from Otaru Station to Winkel Village and it cost around 5,000 yen. The price was reasonable too.
This is the first time we tried the Onsen in Japan. I was surprised that my girl loves it. The crew will come to replace the Onsen water everyday. The location is good for ski lovers too.
Warm environment, enthusiastic service staff
There is heating and the location is very convenient for travel!
I was a little nervous when I booked this hotel. I was worried that the outdoor hot spring would be cold and that the transportation would be inconvenient. Couple that runs the place is very accomodating. Breakfast is a little expensive but not out of the ordinary. Showers are private and in a shared space. "Double" rooms are big enough for two beds and space to get in them, not much more, which was fine for my purposes. The location is very near old Hakodate historical district and the red brick warehouses.
Nice place and great location. Hotel is Owned and operated by a local couple. I remember the lady with her beloved boxer. I stayed here in 2010 and enjoyed beautiful Hakodate. Climb the mountain and enjoy the local food. Old port town and a few good sites. The old warehouses here and in Otaru are interesting
Clean and comfortable pension about 20 mins walk from the JR station. Has private shower and bathing facility (although not in your room). Cant comment on breakfast as we had to leave early and stayed only 1 night. A little noisy as the rooms werent very soundproof. Host was nice and spoke a bit of English. Overall a comfortable stay but nothing special.
Wonderful bed and breakfast just a few minutes walk from the harbour and red brick warehouses. Wonderful people running, both of whom speak great English as well.

Simply lovely all around. The hospitality starts with the amazing hosts, who welcomed us profusely and even cleaned our luggage wheels to spotless while we were exploring the city (something definitely not included in the room rate...). It continues with the thoughtfully appointed rooms (we stayed in a traditional Japanese style room) and common areas. Laundry is provided on site for 200 JPY per load...
From the owner and his wife to the decoration, it is a warm and lovely B&B. Highly recommended.
Pension Jokura was a very convenient and accessible accommodation in the middle of various tourist spots. The owners were very warm and assisted us when we had questions during the trip. I might come back again as the facilities were in tip top condition, the amenities were clean and the tatami mat was nice to sleep in.
My husband and I stayed here in May 2023. We only stayed for a night, but we left a comment because it was such a wonderful inn. Had a great time staying here - great hospitality, great location, great food and the weather was perfect. There are restaurants very close by with cheap delicious food and good coffee over the road.
Breakfast was great. Friendly staff, room was large. Nice sitting area with other guests for happy hour. Bathroom was a little small but serviceable. Easy walking distance to restaurants and the lifts.
Really enjoyed our stay at Furano B&B. Its like a home away from home in the snow and only a short walk to the lifts More like a traditional ski lodge rather than a B&B, with comfortable seating around a fire place to enjoy a beverage or two, and a tall story or two, after a day on the mountain The hosts Mamiko and Mick were outstanding as were the breakfasts they produced each day. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this really lovely, exceptionally well maintained b&b. A short walk to the gondola and ski area which was great. Our hosts, Mamiko and Mick (and Simon) were very welcoming and helpful. The breakfasts were some of the best we’ve ever had. I would highly recommend this b&b to anyone wanting to stay in furano, close to the slopes.
The B&B in the forest is run by an Australian couple. The Australian-style breakfast is prepared by the landlady herself. The room is a good size and the hot water is great. It's very good.
A cozy establishment with superb breakfast (better than some of the 3 or 4 star hotels I’ve stayed at) and good amenities (there is a fireplace by the window at the lobby!). The hosts are welcoming and friendly too. Special thanks to Mamiko-san for being the best host ever 😊

The main location is very close to the ski resort, which is an excellent choice at this price. The hotel sells ski tickets at a discount, cooperates with a ski equipment store (with pick-up and drop-off), and has Chinese-speaking staff, which makes communication very convenient. The overall service is also very good.
We stayed at Fryingpan for 5 nights and it was truly lovely. The shared bathrooms are very clean and the beds were super comfortable. Breakfast every morning was western style but delicious. Better than it looks. Decent in terms of facilities, just don't expect any frills. Right at the foot of the Kitanomine slopes, which unfortunately were not open in mid-December. Mattresses need to be replaced but the pillows were surprisingly comfortable (memory foam), providing adequate neck support. No common areas for dining except the picnic table out front.
I stayed at Pension Young House for 7nights. The location to the ski lift is second to none, could literally snowboard to the front door. Although the owner spoke little english, he was as helpful as he possibly could be. The rooms are basic, but clean and serviced daily. I wouldn't consider any other accommodations in Furano for my future trips.
