I didn't manage to use the pass for the baths over the road, but great to have that included in the price if you do have time. Some lovely gardens right opposite the hotel
The room size was pretty good, offering great value for money considering it's in the mountains and part of a well-known chain
A wonderful authentic Japanese experience. Great service despite us not speaking the same language (They are very adept at using Google translate)
Good Location for Hakone Open Air Museum and for being able to get on the bus back to the station early before it gets so crowded it doesn't stop for more passengers
I have to say, Japanese gardens are incredibly small and refined; every spot is meticulously kept and elegant. My only regret was slipping on a steep slope after getting off the bus
Even though it's a public bath, it's small, cozy, and has outdoor pools. The hotel is conveniently located right by Kowakien Station and Horaiden

Incredible room and incredible food, we were in Japan for 2 weeks and ate in good restaurants the entire time and both the dinner and the breakfast a Hakone Suishoen were our best meals of the trip
The dining experience felt like a hotel's set course meal. While dinner was a little slow, the overall experience was excellent, and the dining staff were all wonderful
They also patiently explained which station had luggage lockers, as we were planning to move on to a different location the next day. If we hadn't already made other plans, staying two nights would have been ideal
The place was spotless, the environment was beautiful, and the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. Even though English wasn't their strong suit, they used translation apps effectively to communicate
Most luxurious hotel I have ever experienced: luxurious Room and luxurious service, highly recommended. I heard that they will start renovating in Oct though the hotel is still in perfect shape
We weren't aware they offered a pick-up service, so we took a taxi there. However, they kindly provided a drop-off service to the station when we left

My wife and I loved our stay here. The in room onsen, massage services, and skin care products had us feeling rejuvenated. The staff are accommodating and incredibly good at what they do
Absolutely fabulous. The finest hotel, the finest services, the best hotspring setvice and superb food. Will always want to come back.
We didn’t get to go up tot he mountain via the cable car but I understand that the access is right off of this property. We would definitely recommend this place if you need full relaxation and tranquility
Our family of four stayed here in the suite. Experience was fantastic in every way. Service was top notch from the moment you step foot until you leave
Rooms were as expected; clean, comfortable beddings (both mattress and futon), and the view was picturesque. Both private and public onsen was great. Not many people in the public onsen when I was there
Everything about the stay here was exceptional. Staff were incredibly well mannered and couldn't do enough to help us. We were able to get a pick up from Gora station to the hotel, and found it to be an easy experience.

The service was impeccable - communication was excellent, facilities were top-notch and the care we received was nothing short of amazing
We would definitely go back again in the future! The availability of your own private onsen in the room with hot spring water was so worth it. Great selection of seasonal food during dinner and breakfast
Staff very flexible in assisting our travel plans the next day as well. Given that it's located in the higher areas of Hakone, it does limit ability to get to the hotel unless you have a car
Ten courses breakfast and twelve courses Kaiseki dinner in a private dining room could easily cost at least $200 USD for two people; a private dining room in Japan costs 4000 yens at some restaurants
A ryokan that even the locals enjoy! It was an amazing experience staying in Madoka no Mori - from pick up at Gora station to the check-in, we were looked after
Thank you for your attentive service. Thanks to you, we had a truly wonderful time. The room and all the facilities were excellent, making us feel incredibly comfortable

The daily breakfast and dinners are called Kaiseki with multiple course and presented in the most beautiful ceramics and dishes. Our room hostess was so delightful and made our experience even better
Everyone at the Ryokan, from the people at the front desk to the lovely men at the doors were dedicated to making our stay better with a welcoming smile
Additionally, this Ryokan is located within a short walk to the town where many opportunities for sightseeing are possible. An impressive view of Mt Fuji was the cherry on top
The hotel environment is very comfortable. If the weather is good, you can overlook Mount Fuji. The service attitude is particularly good, including two meals that can be enjoyed in the room, and the quality is very good
I cannot say enough positive things about this beautiful and relaxing ryokan. The setting is stunning and a perfect example of Japanese gardens
Soaking in the onsen baths are the best way to relax after a day of travel or sightseeing. I enjoyed the morning by soaking in the outside onsen

Need to walk about 6 mins from the station. Onsen is quite good, hot water, bubble tube, big outdoor tube. Food is so much delicious, a lot of plates with different dishes
A nice hotel with excellent onsen and a pleasant mountain view from the room. The men's and women's baths are switched every evening so you can try both
The location isn't the most convenient; on the way back from the hotel, I spent 40 minutes trying to catch a bus, but no one stopped. Overall, I liked it; it's a good place to relax and explore Hakone
Super love this ryokan especially the meals included (breakfast and dinner). Very good hospitality by staff
It's a fairly traditional Japanese inn; the breakfast and dinner were decent, and the staff were very welcoming. The soundproofing was a bit poor, but otherwise it was quite good
There were missing instructions on how to make your futon; it would be nice to have some for foreigners staying at a ryokan for the first time. We communicated through a translator

This is the second time I stay at this hotel. Last time experience was excellent but 10years ago. But this time our room has bee arranged next to the toilet and no room view.
I didn't realize that dinner would be a kaiseki meal, including sashimi and other raw seafood, and I didn't tell the restaurant in advance that I didn't want seafood, so I was in a bit of a pickle
This building, built in 1890, offers a complete immersion into the country's culture and history. Excellent service, wonderful onsen, and delicious meals.
The location is in Tonosawa, at the intersection of the bridge. Although the food is not the best, the single-order drinks are not expensive. It is very artistic on rainy days
The food is also very good, exquisite and delicate, and the ingredients are fresh. I especially like their rice, which is shiny and tastes very good
The service is very good. I would like to stay a few more days. The environment is very good

Also have good parking if your driving here and also give you step by step on how to get there with public transport. Highly recommend and would stay again if anyone wants to go to Fun2Drive
There was a nice dining (tatami area) in our room. The electric kettle came in handy. The nice staff member at the front desk gave us an excellent overview of what to do and see
Clean, spacious, comfortable rooms. Run by a very kind couple who took excellent care of us and even offered to take our luggage to our next stay nearby.
Not far from the bus stop (we caught a bus from Tokyo to Hakone). In a nice, quiet neighborhood. Very Japanese -- a place for our shoes, they cleaned out luggage wheels in the lobby and carried our luggage up stairs
Hosts were SO helpful right from when the moment I booked this hotel in advance. Made sure I knew how to get there, what to expect and even helped us out when our plans potentially got changed last minute
Hosts are so nice and speak English as well. The rooms are spacious and have little trinkets. Bathrooms are nice and clean. I don’t have anything bad to say at all. Absolutely perfect!! Thank you

This boutique inn is located in the Hakone Onsen area. While it doesn't have a large public bath, it boasts three private baths available at any time, suitable for 2, 3, and 4 people respectively
Good ryokan. Nice place for family. Food is good, however lots of plates are coming and very hard to eat all of them. Strongly recommend.
This little gem was just incredible. We stayed for two nights in the Kisaian Ai suite. Very traditional room with a private onsen. Provided yukata's are gorgeous. The futon beds were super comfy
The two meals included in the stay were excellent; the food was fresh and richly seasoned, especially the tempura, which was crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside
My stay was from January 1st to 2nd, so the meals were specially prepared by the chef for the New Year, available only for two days – a bit of luck! This inn is perfect for couples and would be even more suitable for those traveling by car
If you have a lot of luggage or simply don't like walking, you can also get there by bus or taxi – for us the location was perfect! What was particularly great was the staff. They are incredibly friendly and courteous

When we arrived, we were given a welcome drink and snacks, and then we took a short break and went into the hot springs. The food was excellent, and the staff were all nice. I would love to stay here again.
The hot spring is only public and is charged on top of the room rate. The mountain view is OK, but unfortunately we didn't encounter good weather. It's a long steep slope from Gora Station
A bit expensive for such old rooms. Weird dark stains on the carpet in the corners of the bedroom... The sheets were clean though. The food was pretty good but not as good as some ryokans in the same price range.
🐼Environment: comfortable and quiet 🐼Food: Dinner is delicious 🐼Service: The waiter patiently introduced each dish and answered our questions carefully. 🐼Address: It’s quite close to the “Park Downtown” bus stop.
I had a great stay with my brother. Lovely breakfast and dinner. Facilities were clean and functioning well. Staff was kind and helpful. The location is a bit uphill, prepare to walk on an incline for 5 minutes.
This was my third time here and I was once again very satisfied with the consistent service and food. The food in particular was creative and delicious, with dishes that I wouldn't normally be able to eat

A lovely authentic Japanese experience. Food was plentiful and to a high standard just not to my Western palate. A menu would have been good to help identify some of the dishes. We loved getting dressed into our Yukatas
The breakfast and dinner was superb and each dish presented was a work of art. All that being said, what made this place really stand out was the service provided by Kimiko
Her attention to detail, explaining customs, preparing the room and serving meals made our experience very special
The room is very spacious and clean with great decorations that provides it a "i have seen it in a Japanese movie" vibe
Yamagaso was a wonderful surprise after a very disappointing stay the week before at Arima Onsen
This property is beautiful and our room with a garden view was more pleasant than any any place that we’ve stayed around the world. The rooftop onsen is a very special experience to not miss

Literally my first onsen experience in Japan. I feel relaxed sitting in the private onsen connected to our room. My sore muscles got much better after onsen! Amazing! Japanese dinners and breakfasts are very good too!
The food is high quality Japanese, the room was spacious, clean and quiet and the staff were very kind and considerate. It really was a good break for a couple of nights
Lovely experience staying here. Our Wa Fuu room was modern, clean and provisioned with exquisitely comfortable floor-beds, as well a constantly-flowing private onsen with well-kept shower fixtures and tiling
Stayed recently as a family of 4 with 2 young children. The long and short of it is we would definitely stay again next time we're in the area
Sweeping view of the mountains from both the room and bath. Room food service was convenient and the "set" meals were delicious
It would have been nice if there was a sauna in the public bath.

the best in every way except transportations are needed to be planned in advance. quite up on the hill with a very good view
The location is a bit secluded.  The staff keep a clean environment.  The service here is excellent.  The facilities are good, however besides onsen and food, there isn't much else to do.  The uncharges are a bit steep
The service was excellent, professional, and very attentive. The in-room amenities were premium and had a luxurious feel. The towels and hot spring attire were made from high-quality material and felt wonderful
Very good. I like this restaurant very much. The breakfast and dinner are very delicious. The service is amazing and beyond expectations. It is very thoughtful.
The hot spring water is set at a constant temperature one can bath at any time. It offers one of the best dinners at hot spring hotels.

We had a room with a private onsen which was beautiful and overlooked the river. It was so lovely to hear the water rushing and all the nature sounds
Also very close to the bus stop without fear of being too close to cars, since going into the city there’s really not a sidewalk
Lovely ryokan with amazing food !! Highly recommend the private baths too for anyone that’s new to onsen experience. 😆
We had dinner and breakfast included, traditional multi course Japanese meals
Fantastic service. Fantastic food. No complaints.
Very good experience, it's the first time to stay in a Japanese tatami hotel, it's very good, especially the food is unique and delicious 😋 The hotel can also take a hot spring ♨️ I recommend everyone to experience it 👍

The overall service and facilities were excellent, especially the open-air bath in the room, which was fantastic. It was a bit disappointing, however, that we couldn't arrange dinner on Christmas Eve and had to eat out.
One that we will remember fondly for sure !! Amazing experience with the hotel dining in a private room, loved the onsen in our room , only wished we could spend more nights here ! Thank you for making our first Ryokan experience a memorable on
interesting balinese onsen ryokan. service was great, i couldn’t take raw food and my husband is allergic to prawns and they took notice for it and didn’t serve them during our half board meals (breakfast and dinner)
the onsen water is certified to be natural and we could read the details of the certification from both the hotel reception and room toilet. the private in room open air onsen’s temperature can be adjusted as well
Atmosphere ◎ Hot spring ◎ Beautiful ◎ Food ◎ This is a wonderful place to immerse yourself in an extraordinary life. Everything was a beautiful place. For me, as a pure “I,” this is quite a high point
hope the hotel can take note of this and seal up the showering area’s door completely to prevent air from exchanging during shower. it’s a jap-balinese fusion hotel, pretty interesting concept

The most amazing experience of this trip to Japan. I'll just show you the pictures, words can't describe it. Even the skincare products were exceptionally good; I want to buy some, but I don't know the brand
Location was accessible via 10-min Tozan bus ride. Room was very well-furnished with yukatas, toiletries and spacious. The older staff in the restaurant spoke very good English
This is the best Ryokan I have visited in Japan. I’d like to stay again soon.
The highlight of this trip was staying at this hotel. First of all, for hot spring lovers, this hotel has both private baths in the room and private baths that require payment, as well as excellent public hot springs
This time I came to Tokyo mainly to see the cherry blossoms, and I also went to Hakone to soak in the hot springs. I saw good reviews of this hot spring hotel on the Internet, so I tried it myself
It truly lives up to the saying, "Expensive things are good in every way except for the price!" I'll definitely stay here again next time I'm in Hakone for hot springs

An amazing experience! Everything was perfect, the food was delicious and the staff incredibly kind. Gurum-san took care of us and was very kind and warm toward us
Thank you very much, Hananoyado Fukuya! Can’t wait to visit you again
As first timers in Japan, we were not expecting how long and exhausting the Hakone loop would be. This place was a true resting spot for us after a hectic day
The staff went out of their way to accommodate us when we were running late. The open air onsen was dreamy and romantic

Many hotels in Hakone, such as Kanaya and Hiramatsu, have been visited, but this hotel has a very good mood, because the baths are from two sources, the rooms are kept clean, and there are many children with children
excellent attitude towards food, the fact that the food, mainly consisting of fish, is not cost-effective, and the sound of the water and the night scenery are beautiful
Room is huge for Japanese standard , of course we paid a lot for it. It may have looked good 10 years ago but it is only ok in today’s standard
I specifically requested for room with a view (not car park view) for the price I paid but knowing the Japanese inflexibility, it will be impossible to have a room change after they have allocated one , plus they r running full capacity with inadequate manpower
Overall - I will not stay here again. There is nothing good at this price that will entice my return
The service staff was trying to separate us from the member guests with different route , access , etc … again for the price I paid , it is totally not worth it , be it the property , the service , or the quality of the breakfast

Beautiful and super comfortable room, they speak good English and the nonsense is a spectacle.
Good service & nice room with friendly staff
I tried to reserve dinner online, but they told me to do it upon arrival at check-in, but I think the restaurant had private seating for each room, so I was able to do that. I had a choice between 6:30 and 7:30
It was my first time at a ryokan. I liked the onsen too, but we didn't take the private one, but the prices were very reasonable. I wish the breakfast had more variety. The main thing is the Friendly tattoo

It was truly blissful to go straight from showering to soaking in the onsen! Breakfast was delivered to a separate dining area right across from our room, with each room having its own dedicated dining space – absolutely no complaints there
The private onsen in our room had a good temperature that could be adjusted, so each had its own advantages
Excellent! Very Japanese. If you want to experience Japanese culture, give this a try.
The price for three people for two nights and three days was 7500 RMB. The hotel front desk staff and the ladies in charge were all very welcoming. If we had any questions, we could call our dedicated butler
Our butler told me that there were both Western and Chinese breakfast options available every day, which was a nice touch. The highlight for me was enjoying four hot spring baths during our three-day, two-night stay
We paid extra for a private onsen, but it was only good for photos. (And you could even see the hotel across the way while soaking). The toilet paper 🧻 in this hotel was as thin as what you'd find in a public restroom
