I booked 3 nights at Star and ended up staying there for over a month. The hostel people are nice and caring. They have a kitchen where you can cook your own food, laundry service is cheap too

com mentioned breakfast included but no one prepared it until I asked the front desk guy, he told me theres no one to cook the breakfast then lastly an old women long term stayer in the same female dorm lend him a hand

Except for its location. Avoid at all costs if you don’t want to get depression. Everything is bad. I stayed at many hostels on a budget but this is by far the worst.

Good hotel for one or two nights. The location is very cool, there are cafes and markers around. In the morning we went to the tram stop, and after 10-15 minutes we were already in the mountains and enjoying nature

The hotel is located at the heart of the city and just 30km away from the Airport. The washroom was clean but the bedsheet did not look clean. Also, the Sofa at the reception was old and dirty. They accept creditcard.

A good place to stay for a few days until a decent accommodation is found. The rooms are clean, comfortable and have everything you need. There is a convenient shared kitchen

The staff are nice and friendly (for the most part). There may be inconvenience with neighbors who rent rooms by the hour for a known purpose, but in general this is not critical

Great location, affordable rooms. The air conditioning did not work well, the springs on the mattress were sticking out, it was not comfortable to sleep.

Beautiful place both in winter and summer. I do not know winter sports so always visit this place in summer. In summer it is amazing with greenery and flowers. Treks are good and of moderate difficult

Nice ski resort. Cheap but warm and polite. The slope is not steep but bumpy and interesting if you like to jump and carve. The pulling lift itself is an adventure, it is the longest I've ever seen.

A great place, came with family, very wonderful time, the slope is not big, but very diverse. Excellent staff and professional instructors, know their business, I recommend everyone!

Perfect little ski slope for a family outing where you can see your kids, eat within meters of their skiing slope and enjoy the view without hundreds of people.

A little better handling of the queue to the poma lift would make the entire experience more enjoyable.

The restaurant is excellent at the penultimate stop (accessible with a Combi1 ticket) and has a large selection of delicious dishes. The waiters are quick and friendly. The restrooms are also clean and adequate

The food was so good ! We had burrata salad which was so so good, mozzarella sticks which were okay, pizza so so good, & greek salad so delicious ! We really want more & more burrata salads and greek salad and pizza ! This is a match made in heaven & it’s so good !

I loved all the food which uses fresh local ingredients in local and international dishes. I can't praise the hotel and especially the staff for making our trip so memorable

But everything about this hotel is equally wow: our room was really comfortable and cozy and the restaurant food is absolutely excellent

The best place for a weekend getaway in Almaty.

Location is great, atmosphere and food are good. The rooms are a bit squeaky (floors, bed), bathrooms could be upgraded. Not so much worth the price room condition wise, but the atmosphere and location are great.

Excellent hotel near Almaty airport 10 minutes walk. There is a good dining room and not expensive lunch, breakfast and dinner within 800 tenge (~3 $). Also nearby is the fourth center of the airline company Air Astana

Pretty sketchy and totally overpriced. Dont stay unless you have to but fine for crashing between flights. 15 min dark walk from airport but taxis want 2000 Tg to go less than a km. :(

The room is very good, well-equipped, the breakfast buffet is very rich, the barbecue and fruit are delicious, the hygiene is also clean and tidy, there is a dedicated person to clean every day, it is very safe to live here

After hours of carving powder in Shymbulak, there is nothing like stepping into the sauna, sweating it out, and then plunging into the ice pool to feel reborn

The staff spoke English, smiled a lot, and always made sure we had what we needed – and we weren’t exactly the easiest guests! We were three guys, snowboarding all day at Shymbulak, and unwinding each night with bottles of vodka in the room

I also wish to thank the guy that assisted me with the booking through WhatsApp before hand. Sadly enough i didn't have enough time to try out the sauna
