Hotel Moré in Alcudia

Think twice about this hotel!!! I took my mum away for her up and coming 70th birthday. When we arrived at the hotel, there was a big family in reception that had arrived before us. From what we could make out the rooms weren’t ready, and they didn’t look happy. We weren’t greeted by the staff but shouted at to take a clip board, sit down and fill out a form. We popped our bags in the holding room, went to get changed and started our holiday. When walking through reception we saw a couple waiting to check in who was offered champagne and smiles! Shame they didn’t do this for us. 3 nights into the holiday, my mother and I hadn’t slept due to a generator in the back and the entertainment at the bottom of the stairs where our room was located. On the Tuesday morning, I went down to reception to ask if we could be moved. I was told to go away until 10am. It was market day in Alcudia, so this spoilt the day to be honest, however, my 69-year-old mother and I needed to sleep so we waited around. At 10am I was asked to pack the room, and we were going to be moved into a Double room (I paid for a Twin room) I pointed this out to the manager who didn’t seem to be interested. She seemed very put out that we had even asked to be moved. We went out for few hours, not letting this situation spoil the holiday even though we were both extremally tired. When we retuned there as some confusion on the rooms and the one of the reception staff was laughing, at this point I wasn’t laughing. We were told to wait again until this has been sorted. We eventually got moved, this time to the back of where the entertainment was! It was a Double room (102) but had to be better than room 106 (do not get put in this room). That evening we went to dinner as we always did, and when I got to my table the manager had shouted at my mother saying her wrist band had to be on the table. Firstly, they are paper, and we go swimming, so these were inside my handbag. I was on the way to the table so there was no need for this. We hadn’t seen the manager at dinner for the first few nights, but on the Tuesday, she was there, and the atmosphere was awful. A gentleman came to our table with 2 new bands, not that we needed them, but it seems he was told too! The reception staff and the Manger need to learn how to welcome customers to their hotel. The bar staff were lovely. When you went to them to ask a simple question they looked like they didn’t want you there and as we had complained about the room, we weren’t getting any smiles off them for the rest of the week! The walls are so thin in this hotel. You can hear people showering and coughing. The hotel was dated and room 102 was damp and smelt disgusting. There were no extractor fans or windows in room 102 so the room smelt mouldy. The hotel was very expensive for drink and food. 3.20 euros for a bottle of water, however, there is a beautiful hotel opposite with a shop and it half price. We spent a lot with the shop and was made
