Reviews
Inside the hotel is very glam, lovely chandler as a focal point. Check in was easy. Got a 3rd floor poolside room which was great and had a lovely sea view.
There was a huge disappointment though, NO KETTLE, I love my tea and it's the first hotel I've ever stayed in that didn't have one, you have to buy tea at the bar, this is a big no no. Food was good, we had breakfast and dinner, although a bit scarce on chicken dishes.
I was stopped from taking fruit for later from the restaurant, which was strange.
The staff member was quite rude about it and she had attitude, which I noticed on several occasions with other guests.
They also don't let you take drinks in to the restaurant that you purchased at the bar. It just seems that they want to get money off you, every chance they get.
We had issues with noise on two occasions, which were dealt with promptly.
The entertainment however is not great and is not aimed at English speaking guests,.
The beach area is nice but it could do with being cleaned.
Not many shops nearby but good bus service into Salou.
Also your pick up point back to the airport might not be right outside the hotel, it's quite steep climb.
Food at the hotell was good except for when we had an excursion and asked for an early breakfast they gave us cookies och butter, that was not good.
The room was ok but on the balcony there were no isolation so you could hear all neighbours talking, some talked very loud in their cellphones.
It was often very smelly from the street (trashcontainers and toilet pipes) and from all people who smoked around.
There was a nice nature walk close by the beach that you can use, there was a great and delicious Indian restaurant nearby with tasty food.
There's a supermarket nearby and cloth store - Holiday.
Cleaning in the room was not the best, I got sheets with stains on once...shower wasn't cleaned daily.
The swimming pool area was very nice and the beach view.
It was easy to take the bus to nearby cities like Salou and Tarragona.
Overall we are happy with our stay there.
Like many other people reading reviews on here and probably being put off by the negative ones, I decided to ignore them and book a holiday here anyway. The BEST decision I have ever made. If you are thinking of staying here, DO. You won’t regret it. The staff are very friendly and lovely, not many speak great English but I used google translate a lot back and forth and it’s amazing how much of a conversation you can have with staff which was great.
The food absolutely delicious, especially the very popular Margarita pizza, my favourite! The breakfast, though the same every day had a lot to choose from and their strawberry yoghurt is THE BEST. Have to also say a special thanks to Dayan who after 2 mornings of breakfast served me the biggest pancake every morning without fail! Dinner, always different every night lots to choose from very tasty and desserts incredible! Especially their ice cream and profiteroles! Must have!
No sun lounger wars, always somewhere to sunbathe! Roof top pool you have to visit even if it is just once! It is lovely! I was stupid and fell down the stairs on the second day but the staff handled it very well, made sure I was okay and gave me ice, for my very sprained ankle, that it turned out to be in the end.
Not a bad word to say about any part of our stay. Went with my mum and we had the best time and would definitely come again! I could go on and on but do not let the bad reviews put you off that is all I will say!
Aprox 60 meters to beach. If you have problems walking this hotel is in my opinion is probably not for you. Steep road at front to beach and slightly hilly around. Quite a lot of steps inside hotel to pool and restaurant the hotel does have lifts but not all direct from top to bottom you may have to change lifts. When busy you may have to wait as they only hold about 5 people. Food not bad but not my cup of tea we saw a lady walk out of the restaurant with two plumbs and was stopped at door and told you can’t take anything out of the restaurant. Sorry but I thought that was bang out of order after all they and everyone has already paid upfront for food half or full board. Went up to pool bar on roof sun loungers are not free like at pool 10 euros and that was for 3 hours not good I’m afraid. Nice hotel but not without problems 6/10
The sea and pool views are both beautiful, the hotel is located almost right at the beach and the atmosphere is relaxing and calm. The staff was very friendly (despite not everyone speaking fluent English), the room was clean and the food was amazing, which was one of the highlights of our stay.
I wonder if some of the commentators do not know the difference between full board and all inclusive. Yes, one has to pay for drinks at lunch and dinner but I would say it is not expensive. We had full board and were happy with this choice since the food was tasty and mostly diverse.
All of our wishes concerning baby necessities were also satisfied. All areas are accessible with a buggy, including the beach.
Due to all of the above, I fully recommend this hotel!
Food:
The first two days the hotel did not have good options for vegetarian food. At first the worker said that you can have salad. I said that I want hot food, I can not eat only salad. The chef cooked us spaghetti twice for which I am grateful to him.
The walls in the hotel are very thin, so you can hear other people very much. We were lucky that there were not many people during our vacation and it was noisy only occasionally.
There is a beach, a market and a bus stop nearby. The center can be reached in 15 minutes by bus (2.10 €).
The hotel indicates that it has 4 stars, but they can't provide you with the most basic thing - a polite and friendly attitude.
When we arrived at the hotel, the girl from the reception was not friendly. It seemed that we were not welcome and she was doing us a favor.
When there was an incident with the flood of rooms, many residents were lucky that they were inside the room at that moment and were able to take out their things on their own because the hotel employees did not worry about the safety of visitors' documents, phones and laptops and you would not even be told that there was a flood in your room and that your things were flooding at the moment.
So that’s our experience in the Cala Font hotel.
Their only goal seems to be to take as much money from you as possible during your stay. You have to pay for everything, even drinking water (€2.50 per liter), and even children's toys cost extra. You're not allowed to bring your own bottle into the restaurant, and even using the scale costs money.
We were a group of four and needed four bottles of water per day just for lunch and dinner, which amounts to €10 per day. Over 10 days, that’s €100 just for water during meals in the restaurant.
The staff is unfriendly, especially the lifeguard and the bar manager. The food is the same every day; after 10 days, we were completely fed up with it.
Moreover, the bathrooms in the rooms smell bad, and the hallway smells like a chicken farm.
How this hotel received 4 stars is beyond us.
We will never come back here.
Room smells like there's a dead rat there
Trying to make you pay for whatever you do
Worst restaurant ever everyday almost the same food with very little options to chose from
You can see how bad management you have with their nonsense rules..
Never again..
