Hotel Manaus in L'Arenal

We booked through love holidays for an affordable trip away. We checked Google reviews prior and felt this was a fine suit for us.

We arrived and was greeted by lovely receptionist, our room was small but fine for the two of us. Closer look it was a bit dirty along skirting boards under bed and in corners. But the bed linen and towels were changed daily. We had an issue with our shower drain it was promptly fixed and very apologetic reception team also offered us a dinner at the hotel on them which was lovely.
We had breakfast included in our stay how ever we both ate very little of it as most days the food was not cooked well or was cold. They still had a toaster and nice variety or salads meats and cheeses.

If you aren’t looking to party or are not a very heavy sleeper bear in mind there is noise from other hotels untill midnight each night.

Over all this was a fine stay for the price. And the staff were lovely.

Hotel Manaus: The location was easily accessible. Quick access to the beach and everything necessary nearby such as restaurants or shops. The reception staff were always helpful and very kind. Especially the morning shift during the dates 13.5–16.5.26. Unfortunately, the customer service at the pool bar was below average (long waiting times, poor language skills or lack of knowledge about their own products), the rooms could be renovated better, both in terms of paint and overall design. The room standard was not adequate, there was nothing basic available for the needs of people who do not have breakfast included. The overall furniture arrangement was also without much consideration. The shower water was at times cold and warm. The bathroom doors were overall poor and there was no ventilation. No remote control for the air conditioning. Technologically, the TV was also at the level of the year 2005. As I wrote above, the reception and the breakfast system saved the balance of the negative review.

Away from the noisiest parts of Arenal the hotel was fine for a short break. Reception staff could have been friendlier and more informative when checking in, but the room we were allocated was fine and overlooked the pool and the trees. Housekeeping was very good with rooms cleaned and towels replaced daily. Only issue with the meals was that some of the food on the evening buffet wasn't replenished quickly enough, but otherwise meals were okay and there was enough choice, except for the desserts Surprised other reviews haven't mentioned the noisy cockerels which roam nearby, as they could be head early morning and throughout the day, even when the room doors were closed. I would recommend the hotel if its reasonably priced, but it might be an idea to take some earplugs if the cockerels are still around!

What can I say... the service was extremely unfriendly, we had dirty towels covered in other people's hair and a floor that hadn't been cleaned much. The bed sheets were stained and you didn't really feel comfortable there. OK for a party holiday but definitely not bearable sober. Breakfast was OK though.
