Hotel Sonne Zermatt in Zermatt

Hotel Sonne is an amazing locally ran hotel that makes you feel at home. The service and touch is as exceptional as their spa area. Breakfast is expansive and delicious and the rooms are extremely comfortable. The location is just off the main area and quiet with a nice stream by the hotel. Highly recommend staying at Hotel Sonne.

This was one of my several stays at Hotel Sonne. The hotel is at a great & quiet location, but super convenient to the town center. Service, hotel rooms & restaurant is excellent. Very fair price for what you get. Family ownership, which makes it extremely personable. Highly recommended!! Thank you everyone, especially Leo, Alex & Fabian. Looking fwd already to next visit!!!

A wonderful hotel with a large, well-appointed room with a luxurious bath, comfortable bed and friendly staff. The included daily breakfast was hearty, varied and of high quality, Our only suggestion is to open the spectacular outdoor hot tub earlier than 4PM so as to allow guests to soak immediately after the slopes instead of having a long wait.

Hotel Sonne is beautiful luxury hotel in the heart of Zermatt - 3 minutes walk from main street, 10 minutes walk to gondola station = hotel provides free taxi shuttle to the gondola for the skiers. Rooms are spacious and elegant. Restaurant offers delicious breakfast buffet and a-la-carte dinner. Swimming pool is very good to relax after skiing, also there is indoor & outdoor hot tub. Staff is very friendly and polite. I spent 1 week at Hotel Sonne - on my arrival day big surprise waited in my room = cold Champagne bottle, it was welcome treat from hotel !

The staff is incredibly friendly. The rooms are very spacious. My wife and I really enjoyed the pool area, and the outdoor hot tub is wonderful. The outdoor tub is nestled in among a waterfall and a cliff. It is a beautiful setting.

The restaurant is outstanding. We especially loved the Tapas menu. The breakfast buffet is extensive. They have a breakfast rice dish, that was superior.

Cannot recommend this hotel enough.

Zermatt is an amazing location so only the hotels and restaurants differentiate it.
Hotel Sonne is spotlessly clean (very important to me), welcoming, with plenty of individual space, a lovely spa area, a great masseuse but the food is its usp - breakfasts to suit the fussiest family and the Tapas Restaurant is amazing. This separates it apart from other hotels.

This was my second time staying at Sonne Hotel and there are no words to describe this place. In my arrival I felt the same thing as last time, the welcoming environment, the cosiness of its facilities, the helpful and cheerful staff, and it goes without saying the incredible comfort of my room. When I first stepped into Sonne Hotel, and this amazing feeling came back, I knew I was right to come back to this marvellous place.

Once again I was impressed with the swimming pool area, sauna and the hot open air bathtub. It’s just amazingly beautiful to relax a bit after a skiing day on a hot bathtub with an astonishing view to the mountains covered in snow. It makes me realize how lucky I am sometimes! Just the perfect combination after a beautiful sunny skiing day.

Also every meal was impeccable, with a creative and well executed menu every single day I was excited to know what was waiting for me. Not only the buffet had a great variety of entrances and hot dishes, but also there was always a spectacular selection of main courses.

My room was just heaven, with a view to the mountains and all the comfort it was as Swiss as it can get. I was very impressed with the Wi-Fi connection in it, as well as in the whole Hotel.

One of the things that impressed me the most was one night as I was having dinner one of the members of the Forster family who was also having dinner started to talk with one couple sitting next to them, after a little while there was about 4 or 5 separate tables talking and laughing with each other, suddenly the dining room had the most warmth and welcoming atmosphere I will never forget.

A family Hotel, beautifully located in one of the most charming Zermatt corners. A place that makes it very difficult to leave. I strongly recommend it and I’m already looking forward to coming back next season.

Great hotel! Spent there several days on a conference. Staff is nice. Hotel is clean and comfortable. A bit to the edge of town.

My friends and I were originally booked in another hotel but we were rebooked to Hotel Sonne instead due to overbooking. We can't complain though! Hotel Sonne offered more than what we expected. All the staff were very attentive and patient with us. Buffet breakfast was superb. Their dinner menu was sumptuous and were served very efficiently. Their fondue house also didn't disappoint. Bonus points for the bar that's open 'till 11PM. Would definitely recommend to friends and family, and might return again someday!
