Best part is the hotel has its own exclusive elevator to the gondola station. Berghof is one of the best examples of a Swiss family owned/run hotel in Zermatt

Would recommend the hotel, may be a tad warm in summer with no air-conditioning but the room had a balcony so it would be an easy solution to open the window

Everything was perfect. The staff was amazing, on our last day as we leave at 5a.m. they have prepared an excellent breakfast box. We really enjoyed our stay there.

It’s a ski town, so expect it to be slightly dirty. Walls are very thin and could hear fellow travelers coughing throughout the night. Overall, it was a good stay. It did the job of giving me shelter for the night. 😊

The best hotel to see the Matterhorn. The best photography angle is the balcony of the room. But it must not be the room on the other side

It is a hotel you will remember for a long time. The view from the balcony is magnificent. It is like watching a movie "Matterhorn" from the VIP seats. It is located very close to the Matterhorn Express station

The staff was so friendly and helpful! They corrected my booking error with no problem! The hot tub and sauna were wonderful after our hikes! The views of the Matterhorn were spectacular! And the heated bathroom floors were a great Plus!! Highly recommend!

We had a balcony with a front row view of the Matterhorn which was breathtaking- ask for a room with that view! Gabriel greeted us when we arrived and he/his staff were all so friendly

We visited Suitenhotel Zurbriggen for the 4th time to celebrate our wedding anniversary and do some hiking. Such an incredibly special place. It is located such that it has totally unobstructed views of the Matterhorn

It is next to the Klein Matterhorn gondola. The rooms are spacious, very well appointed, comfortable. The pool, hot tub and showers are wonderful. And the hosts Moni and Permin Zurbriggen are welcoming and gracious hosts

I'm glad I gambled on the weather and booked a Matterhorn View room- the views were spectacular! We were on the top floor and the elevator doesn’t go to the top, so be aware you might have one flight of easy steps

Clean rooms, helpful staff, great in-town location right next to the ski resort bus stop. Ski lockers and a spa downstairs. Our particular room had a fantastic view of the Matterhorn

The breakfast buffet was high quality with plenty of local Swiss cheeses. The rooms have a charming, traditional alpine feel, though they are a bit snug. Highly recommend for the view alone

Furthermore, there is a shuttle that will pick you up from the train station the first time you arrive (some reviews said they weren't met at the station cuz of the time coming in - it is not operating 24/7), but if you make a reservation between normal hours when you are leaving, they will take you to the train station, saving you a taxi fare

While the hotel sits on a hill, don’t let that scare you; they provide a key card for a private elevator/tunnel system that drops you right into the heart of Zermatt in about 3 minutes

There are no slippers provided in the rooms, and even basic slippers are only available for an extra charge, so it’s best to bring your own

Room was big, comfortable and firm beds as we like it, and the shower was in a tub with a curtain, so water didn't spray everywhere! The room would have had a SUPER view of the Matterhorn, except there was a huge crane right in our way, so we had to go outside and down the hill a little way 7ntul we had a good view - nothing the hotel could do about it

The room is OK, the breakfast is also good, the location is halfway up the mountain, and the boss drove to pick me up after I called him, which was quite welcoming

The heating in the room can be a wee bit stronger, it means the insulation is good while we tuned down the central heating throughout our stay when the external temp is subzero

The location is very convenient — just about a 5-minute walk from Zermatt train station and also close to McDonald’s. Breakfast was also very good, with a nice variety of jams and fresh fruits available

For my stay I was in the Basecamp rooms, and they provided comfortable beds, a secure place for your belongings, and good showers, which is always important and much appreciated after a long day in the mountains! Will have to return in the winter sometime for skiing! Thanks all!

I have been staying at this hotel a few times in Zermatt and it is truly my favourite. I adore the room design, the quiet and peaceful location. The breakfast is fantastic and the staff extremly helpful and friendly

A bit far from the train station but it is reachable by taking a bus. The hotel requires a bit of uphill walk after getting off the bus. A bit inconvenient for carrying luggage and ski equipment

Location is slightly further from the train station, however you can hire a local EV taxi for est. CHF5/person from hotel to the train station (together with your luggages)

This was just a terrific hotel. The whole place was very clean and there were lots of little touches that showed thoughtfulness (e. a basket in the hall had lightweight lap blankets to use if chilly sitting on balcony)

Recently remodeled and looks brand new. Pull the curtains and view the Matterhorn from your bed. The balcony has great views of Zermatt and the Matterhorn. Everything in town is within walking distance

The room (JS) was a dream—spacious, immaculate, with a king‑size bed that felt like sleeping on a cloud, beautifully designed, spacious bathroom and a balcony that offered a postcard view of the Matterhorn

Our room was spacious and had amazing view on Matterhorn from the balcony and even the bed! We were also using the swimming pool after the whole day of hiking and the pool was great

Welschen is a phenomenal hotel in all respects and highly recommended for a stay in Zermatt. The property is beautiful and newly renovated with spacious rooms and stylish amenities

We also had a very pleasant encounter with the owner who shared with us some of the long and rich history of this family run business through three generations which included a complete three year rebuild of Hotel Welschen which was just recently completed in March of 2025! The rooms though small are neatly done. The double rooms seem to be better placed. The interiors in the reception are beauty. You feel warm and welcomed here. The staff is too good and and ready to help you

Robert Philadelphia This hotel is in the center of Zermatt and is surrounded by a lovely garden. It is run by a second-generation family member, and she does an outstanding job

There is a spa for adults on the lower level, along with a boot room in the hotel and a ski room in the garage across the street. The hotel recommended ski instructors and rental services, all of which were excellent

The hotel is the white house shown in the first picture. The room was quite small, but the breakfast was decent and pretty abundant. It's located in the middle of town, close to the church

Charming place just off the Main Street. Lovely friendly staff and the rooms had a wonderful coffee machine in them. Not the greatest breakfast selection but enough for satisfaction.

Overall, the value for money is alright. Zermatt has tons of hotels, so there are many choices, but very few are available for booking on Ctrip
