Small and quaint hotel, clean and comfortably appointed, essentials, soaps, creams, coffee, tea, linens, all in room. Actual staffed lobby, easy valet parking, nice walkable location. Only negative bathroom “door” is a bifold, not very private, right next to bed. If traveling as three or 4, there is a sitting room with sofabed- but that bathroom “door” is an issue. Very polite staff/valet.

Room was great. Housekeeping service would’ve been nice maybe once while i stayed.

Good area to explore LA. Staff were great ( shout out to Gwynn for the ice ) I think it would benefit from some attention from corporate office - needs some basic maintenance and upkeep ( walls dinged up , scuffs and upkeep ) But overall a great location with good acess to public transportation . The staff was incredibly welcoming and attentive, the rooms were spotless, and the atmosphere was relaxing from the moment I checked in. The location was convenient for exploring the area, and the amenities made the stay even more enjoyable. Highly recommend this hotel for anyone visiting

This is a quaint little hotel. The staff were extremely friendly. It is very clean. The roof top terrace was peaceful and quiet even knowing there was a lot of traffic traveling by the hotel. I loved the valet. One in particular was extremely accommodating. I will definitely stay here again.

The code system for entering the building as well as my room malfunctioned repeatedly. There was no cleaning of the room, ie garbage removal, towel replacement, even though I stayed for five nights. I was informed at check-in that such service incurred an additional fee. I paid $225.00/a night for a room and facility that looked more like it should cost $150.00/night. This hotel is awesome. It’s Symplr with beds sinks bathrooms, clean great TV remote works nice table 2 chairs once Swivl it’s lovely many pillows people at the reception desk very friendly. The coffee in the morning is yummy. Everything’s good and an eagle rock very close to lots of great restaurants.

Good clean hotel. Staff was very friendly. It was close to restaurants, shopping, etc. overall it was one of the more affordable and decent places to stay in the area.

First of all, the design of the lobby, rooms, and courtyard is simply outstanding. It's so stylish! I was also happy to find a makeup-removing sheet. Drinks in the rooms are charged, but there is fruit water at the entrance, which gives it a resort feel. The free breakfast is fruit and croissants. The room is very unique, the aromatherapy may be a bit strong for me. The location is very good and close to various attractions in Hollywood. There were homeless people outside the door, but this is normal in the city, and I didn't feel unsafe coming back at night. In short, it is a hotel more suitable for young people.

It's a unique experience and worth staying. The only thing is that there is no elevator. You can only carry your suitcase up by yourself.

Lighting needs improvement - only 1 ceiling light worked- no hallway light and no TV instructions in room. They give complimentary beer and wine from 5:30 to 7:30 pm but won’t give non drinkers a complimentary Diet Coke or bottled water!

Have stayed many times at the Inn over the years, but it has changed! Rooms are okay but could not get the heat to regulate correctly so we were either cold or hot the entire stay. No longer cookies baking nor in your room at checkin with that nice note welcoming us back. Breakfast is ok. Gone are the coffee cake and soufflé. I came for one night and stayed for two. The property is amazingly welcoming, beautiful and the staff are so accomodating. Home made cookies at the front desk, breakfast made to order, wine and cheese social - these are just some of the small cozy touches that make the Inn at Playa del Rey an amazing place to stay. I loved everything about The Inn at Playa del Rey. The room was great. The water pressure for the shower was excellent! Something I value when I stay anywhere. The bathroom was bigger than expected. Had 2 sinks. Even the view to the street was cool. It faced the streets but also the mountains and you could see way far. Breakfast was excellent every morning. The hotel is decent, and the staff is friendly. But cockroaches are running everywhere, and, as is common in all hotels, the water drains poorly in the bathroom. The bed linens were clean, but the pillows smelled strongly of sweat. Even though the pillows aren't expensive, it would be great if they could be changed more often.

We checked in late last week due to an emergency. Unfortunately, the air in Room 227 did not feel comfortable for us. It seemed like an air treatment or purification device might still have been running. Within a few minutes, we experienced throat irritation and coughing, so we decided to leave and cancel our stay for health reasons. Mixed feelers on this one. They use chemical scent to mask odors. Both were bad. The rooms were pretty clean but the interior furniture was so old it all had a disgusting film on it. It was just amazing to find such a boutique hotel in the middle of Beverly Hills for such a good rate. I was close to the Waldorf Astoria for dining, Neiman Marcus for shopping. I’ll recommend it to all my business clientele for a luxurious stay.

Very convenient location and there are CVS pharmacy and Bristol farm around where you can buy groceries. Guys from reception is very nice and helpful. Definitely will choose it again in future.

Very good but it doesn't have a pool

Surprisingly quiet, exceptionally clean and very friendly staff. Bed was extra firm almost hard , I like a little cushion but the cleanliness more than made up for that. Breakfast offerings were instant oatmeal,an apple or banana ,muffins or granola bar some coffee , juice but ,I would absolutely stay again a good value .

Days Inn by Wyndam in Santa Monica is a hidden jewel! The Staff were all so friendly and helpful and the hotel was sparkling clean and smelled great! I had a disabled friend from out of town come and stay there and it was a wonderful experience for me and her! The price was also within means and not the typical outrageous prices of Santa Monica.

The hotel had a power outage early in the morning. We waited for a long time but it was not repaired. We had to check out early. We negotiated with the front desk, but they did not give us any compensation. It seemed that power outages were commonplace. Not recommended

The reception staff was not very friendly, my room key broke, there was no one at the reception and there was a sign saying I'll be back at 8:15, but at 8:15 no one had returned and I had to wait outside like the other guests, I think this is extremely unacceptable service.

The Charlie Hotel was a welcoming, well appointed and well run hotel in a great location to visit LA.

The Charlie has it all, luxurious suites befitting of hollywood royalty, like its namesake, personable and professional estate caretakers and administrators. To be sure, the expertly provisioned attention to finer details like fresh roses and “hard to get” reservations, from proficient, and well connected hands.

Pros: Room was spotless and the grounds were beautiful. This place allows you to live like a local and not a tourist. With that, cons: The building was old and I could hear a lot of noise from the room below.

The air conditioner in the room is very loud and a bit noisy. The hotel only has 24-hour cancellation, which is not flexible. But the view outside the room is very good. It is a 10-minute walk to Santa Monica Beach

Not a cozy hotel, the rooms are somehow uncomfortable, the refrigerator is next to the toilet, everything is shabby, breakfast - coffee and porridge! Didn't like anything in this hotel. It's 15 minutes' walk from Universal Studios, which is ok.

The Hotel was very close to Universal Studios. The pool was closed half of the time we were there, but once it was opened, it was on the smaller side (deepest being 4 1/2 feet deep) and had many families using it. The Hotel offered free orange juice, apple juice, and coffee 24hours. The rooms were clean and decent sized. Overall, I would recommend this hotel to others.

The hotel is quite bad, I don't recommend booking this one. The only advantage is that it is very close to Universal Studios Hollywood, which can be reached in 15 minutes on foot. The facilities are very old, there are no windows, and the room is very dark.
