Reviews
There are many positives. The property is beautiful, the rooms are very large with lovely views, and the beds are extremely comfortable. The bathroom was spacious and elegant, and the in-room jacuzzi was a great touch. Amenities were complete, housekeeping was very good, and the bellboys and valet service were attentive and professional. Dining at La Pérgola was solid, and wine pricing felt reasonable for a hotel of this category.
However, two service issues significantly impacted our stay.
First, for our honeymoon, we were given a room with two separate beds instead of a king. We were told there were no alternatives and that rooms are subject to availability. What was disappointing was not just the situation itself, but the lack of effort or follow-up to improve it later during our stay.
The biggest issue, though, was the ski shuttle. We called twice before arrival to confirm logistics and were reassured not to worry. At check-in, we selected a departure time and were told we were registered. The next morning, fully geared up and about to board, we were informed the shuttle was full and that we were not on the list. This was the first time we were made aware of the mistake.
For skiers, losing early morning hours means losing the best snow of the day. The solution offered was two coffees, and the response we received from the front desk manager, Nuno, was essentially that “these things happen” and that the shuttle is a free service. The tone felt dismissive, and unfortunately, during the remainder of our stay, interactions at the front desk did not feel welcoming. We even felt uncomfortable passing by, as the attitude came across as visibly annoyed rather than service-oriented.
The issue was not that a mistake happened — mistakes can happen anywhere. The issue was the lack of accountability, empathy, and proactive problem-solving. For a 5-star hotel, that level of service does not match expectations, especially when the shuttle was one of the main reasons we chose this property.
The hotel has beautiful facilities and strong operational staff, but service coordination and front desk leadership need improvement for the experience to truly reflect its five-star positioning.
The staff was outstanding — friendly, professional, and always helpful.
The concierge team was especially impressive.
They helped me organize my ski lessons and arrange all the equipment.
Thanks to them, everything was smooth and stress-free.
It was the team that created the genuine feeling of a five-star experience. Yes, some areas of the hotel could benefit from renovation, and at times the room felt a bit cool, but all of this fades compared to the overwhelmingly positive impression left by the staff. The hotel maintains impeccable cleanliness throughout, and the spa area is very comfortable, relaxing, and well maintained, which added a lot to our stay.
Transfers were organized regularly. It is important to note that the transfer must be booked in advance, which may cause minor inconvenience. However, once booked, everything works perfectly: the transfer runs strictly on schedule, and the young staff members assisting guests provide outstanding service — helping you get in and out, taking care of your shoes, and assisting with everything in a very attentive and friendly manner.
A special thank you to the concierge, who was incredibly helpful with absolutely everything — from purchasing ski passes to assisting with any request we had. Her support and involvement truly stood out.
There was a small misunderstanding regarding a birthday gift. We initially thought it was a complimentary gesture from the hotel, but it turned out to be chargeable. Once we mentioned this at the reception, the situation was resolved immediately, the charge was cancelled, and this once again left a very positive impression. We also appreciated how professionally and gracefully the staff handled the situation.
The work of the entire team is well-coordinated, professional, and genuinely caring.
The breakfasts are excellent and fully meet the expectations of a five-star hotel.
We would also like to highlight Andorra and the resort itself — a wonderful destination that we would wholeheartedly recommend. We sincerely wish this hotel continued success and thank the team for an experience that truly makes you want to come back and recommend it to others
Added photos from the restaurant La Pergola, in the gardens. Excellent food and service. Highly recommended is the Pavlova, Canelo XL and the filet. Super service.
The room was exceptionally spacious, and the complimentary drinking water bottles were lovely. I didn't want to throw them away and took them with me.
The bathroom was also huge, with a jacuzzi! The only downside was the lack of curtains on the bathroom window, haha, but I doubt anyone would peek in. It would be worth staying a few more days to properly explore this beautiful city.
