Wyndham Garden Suzhou in Suzhou

1. There's a door *inside* the room!!!! Can you believe it, everyone?!!!!! The front desk staff had a communication barrier, couldn't understand what we were saying, and tried to brush us off!!!! If we hadn't insisted on changing rooms, they wouldn't have offered any solution at all!!!!
2. The room we got the first night was incredibly old and rundown. The air conditioner had one of those rotary switches, and the whole room was dimly lit. The hallway walls had a lot of peeling paint and glue.
3. The bedside outlets were just power strips.
4. The bottled water was Ice Dew (a common, cheap brand).
5. The entire room only had toilet paper next to the toilet, and a box of tissues by the vanity. No tissues were found on the desk or by the bed.
6. There was a bathtub, but no disposable bath liners.
7. Outside staff weren't allowed upstairs, and no hotel staff offered to bring things up, so we had to go down to get them ourselves.
8. The room we changed to on the second night was right across from the elevator and had terrible soundproofing!!! We were woken up by the noise!!!!
9. For breakfast, they wouldn't let us pack cut-up items, only things like bread. Because we changed rooms, the front desk hadn't updated our breakfast information. The first time we asked the male staff member for a takeaway box, he gave us a look like, "You're just trying to freeload." I was speechless!!!! Our room was booked with points, and my friend paid for her breakfast. The first time, they gave three of us just one takeaway box to put 5 cherry tomatoes in – unbelievable!!!!!
10. The elevator even broke down at one point!!!! It wouldn't close!!!!

I regret not checking Xiaohongshu (a social media platform) beforehand. This place is full of negative reviews and warnings online, absolutely no recommendations. Unbelievable!!!!

The hotel's overall environment was extremely poor. The room facilities were severely old, worn out, and many items were damaged and unusable, with no maintenance or repair whatsoever. The general hygiene was concerning; corners were dirty and messy, and dust was obvious, making for a very uncomfortable stay. The decor was outdated, and the soundproofing was terrible, leading to a restless night. Both the hardware conditions and the living experience fell far below normal accommodation standards. It was extremely poor value for money, and the overall experience was particularly disappointing. I absolutely do not recommend staying here and will not choose it again.
