The hotel lobby is grand and the rooms are quite nice. The rooftop pool and gym are also very good. Breakfast was excellent, and the service was very attentive across the board. A special shout-out to Charlie for their thoughtful service, thank you.

Check in counter staff are very helpful and professional. The rooms are super clean and well maintained. Close to Yu Yuan sightseeing mall.

Daniel at the front desk was very helpful in finding us a family room at the Executive Lounge level. So our 9 nights stay were very pleasant. The room with 2 queen size beds were very spacious. Daily house keeping was done well.

The pool and gym are on the top floor, offering convenient and beautiful views of the Pudong 'Three-Piece Suit' (Lujiazui skyline) in the distance and the Yuyuan Garden and City God Temple up close. The location is excellent, just a few hundred meters' walk to Yuyuan Garden and City God Temple, and about a kilometer to the southern section of the Bund along the Huangpu River. The hotel is right next to Exit 3 of Yuyuan Garden Metro Station. Being in such a popular area of Shanghai, especially during the May Day holiday, being close to the metro is incredibly important. If you stay further away, a one-hour journey could easily turn into two hours with traffic, and your entire trip would truly be 'on the road'.

I had a great stay at the Renaissance hotel. From the moment i got there the receptionist Hannie was such a great amazing help. She spoke english which was very helpful for me and my mom as Americans & she helped us book and secure reservations for activities and food we wanted to eat. She went above and beyond to help us out and i really appreciate her. 100/10 service. She is great. Jorge is also a great server he was really nice we met at breakfast he was so sweet and helpful very kind. I enjoyed my stay and it was very nice and clean and in a great location. Hannie also helped me and my mom ship our luggage’s to another city in china so i’m very grateful for her.

Superb service from the moment Barbara upgraded me at the front desk. Had a scrumptious afternoon tea and a Thai red curry with a large teapot of chrysenthemum and puer tea at the lobby overlooking part of the Yu Garden, before going to room with a stunning view of the bund skyline. Loved the bathtub, and the butterfly cookies. It's the small things that make a stay memorable, and I would definitely return to the Rennaisence Shanghai Yu Garden.

A wonderful experience at the Renaissance Shanghai Yu Garden Hotel on the Bund. The location is fantastic, just steps away from Nanjing Road, making it super convenient for exploring the city.

A special thanks to Rain, who handled my check-in smoothly and kindly arranged a high-floor room exactly as I had requested. I also want to express my sincere appreciation to Hannie at the front desk. She was incredibly helpful throughout my stay, assisting me with extending my reservation and making a room change when I wanted to switch. What really stood out was that she personally took the time to show me several other rooms so I could choose the one I liked best. Her English is excellent and she is such a warm and friendly person — she truly made me feel welcome and well taken care of.

It's rare to encounter such genuine hospitality, and both Rain and Hannie are a real credit to the hotel. I highly recommend this property!

My stay at the Renaissance Shanghai Yu Garden Hotel was fantastic! The location is absolutely perfect; I could easily walk to Yu Garden, the City God Temple, and the Bund, which made sightseeing and dining incredibly convenient. The hotel's overall decor is high-end and elegant, and the lobby is spacious and spotless, creating a wonderful atmosphere.

Place to try Shanghai food. I think the price is quite moderate. I satisfied with its foods, very delicious for me,especially the brown duck with glutinous rice inside and one more menu contain only green vegetable but the taste is very delicious.

Menu was written in broken English— I wonder how people could understand their English menus..........very expensive and the food tastes horrible. Worse still, the staff and chefs were all chatting away, some of them even smoking! None of them doing were their job until told to do so. This restaurant is definitely NOT recommended.
