Lovely, good food, great view, really warm and helpful team

Our room was lovely. Great size bathroom & show. Great view of the lake, listening to the water was very soothing. Chairs on balcony were not very comfortable but we still used them daily and it would be nice to have a small table out there. Otherwise staff was very nice and accommodating.

Lovely building in a great position on the lake however, the room rate at the beginning of October is too high to justify the lack of amenities and service. The receptionists were efficient but lacking warmth to the point of being austere and cold. Fantastic position and character on the side of the lake. Friendly, professional and loyal staff, and good that it is family run. Great location. Very very close to the slopes and the town centre. The rooms are a bit outdated but the quality of the food and the kindness of the staff make up for everything the room might lack. Very well situated in the center and quiet rooms

Very friendly staff and nice rooms with AC. Dinner at the restaurant was an absolute highlight of my trip. Some of the best food I’ve had in my travels. Even if you do not stay here, you must eat here for at least one meal!

Overall Mixed feelings about the hotel: the room itself was quite nice... Pretty big and decently decorated. However, the bathroom had a few issues. There was no working ventilation (and no windows). A string which I suppose originally was used to start the ventilation seemed to not do anything anymore... Means that the ventilation was probably broken. Several lamps were also broken in the bathroom...

Stresa and Lake Maggiore are not to be missed. The Moderno makes a good base. I suggest you ask about the rooms before selecting, as the hotel encompasses several buildings and the rooms vary. The Hotel is a good value for the price, but it is ageing and somewhat dated. We like firm mattresses and our room had the firmest mattress ever!

This was a very last minute booking due to train cancellation. It is only 10 min walk from Alessandria station which is convenient. Home away from home Fantastic stay at this hotel. I had a late arrival, but that was no issues since the hotel has a 24h front desk. Quiet and calm area in Alessandria. Perfect for my one night trip to Turin, in a great area for transport (trains, trams and buses) as well as walkable to key areas in the city if needed. Staff were friendly and accommodating, but do recommend some patience if you don’t speak Italian. Room was clean and exactly as pictured with a comfortable bed and facilites as expected.

This hotel is a little run down but it's a budget option so what can you expect? Would have liked a couple more savory options at breakfast but overall we had a nice time here and found some good restaurants nearby.

I stayed in the hotel during my solo 2 days travel to Turin in 2021. I had challenges to get early checkin even when i had early checkin confirmed in advance. Rest was a comfortable stay. Clean, huge room and washroom. Breakfast for ok since i am a vegetarian. Could only eat fruits, bread. It was a budget friendly and worth for money options.

The apartment we stayed in was spacious and very comfortable. The view out the dormer window over the Piazza is quite special. If you're lucky you can catch some exquisite music being played by some up and coming talent.

The hotel is very conveniently located on Piazza San Carlo, yet the rooms are completely isolated from the noise on the streets. Very good hotel for the price/quality ratio. The staff are very kind and welcoming. The only slight drawback is that the shower curtain is small and it leaks water onto the floor.

I was visiting the Lago Maggiore Area with a group of people, we stayed at this hotel, and it was the best choice. The Hotel is facing the lake, the service was excellent and the staff are very friendly. The Breakfast offered was nice and has a variety which made everyone happy with their choice. The restaurant next door is a plus for a good Italian food experience.
