It's a great hotel!! However, if you do not drive it is quite a walk into Stressa. So a taxi is needed it costs roughly 15€. You do get the most amazing views. Breakfast is very simple but you have a wide variety of continental options. No hot breakfast options.

Great hotel, had one night here to watch the Tour de France stage. Prefect walking distance between both train stations. We have just returned from a 2 night stay and found the hotel charming. Family run, Italian style, everyone so welcoming and accompanying, especially as we have limited Italian. At first this hotel takes you back to the 40s especially the dining room. Once upstairs in a very old fashioned lift it's very modern. Room was bright door opened onto a patio leading to the lake. Lovely views. Food v good. Friendly staff.

Disappointing! We went to this beautiful restaurant to celebrate the Mother’s Day. The food was really not to the level/price. Everything tasted bland, without any flavour, no palate tingling. Our son goes crazy for French fries and cotoletta but this time he didn’t even eat half his platter. However the kindness , service and environment is very good, nothing to criticise about it.

One of my favourite stays of all times just for 70€/2 nights/2 people. Views are magnificent, menu is tremendous. The drive is demanding, but don't get discouraged.

There are about 60 steep curves from Verbania until one reaches the top of Monterosso where the hotel is. But once you overcome those obstacles, you have the most beautiful view over Lago Maggiore (including Isola Bella), excellent home-made meals from local ingredients and relaxing atmosphere.

Hotel staff was very friendly. Complementary breakfast was typical for budget European hotels. Parking is minimal. Overall property was ok. Room had minor items in disrepair...peeling wallpaper, balcony door handle broken, shower doors leaked water on floor. I have never before been made to feel so welcomed on arrival at a hotel. The owners and staff were exceptionally lovely. The view and property is gorgeous, they have multiple terraces so you can sit with a drink or sunbathe. Its a very beautiful place. Nothing was too much trouble.
