Hotel Raphael in Montecatini-Terme

We went to this hotel for 2 nights during a trip through Italy. We got 'lucky' with our room as it was quite spacious, while travel companions had a room just about big enough for 2 beds to fit. However the space was a very rare positive about this hotel. The air conditioning didnt work at all, and when asking about it at reception, all we got was 'no airco' (after a waitress came to translate our words to the non-English speaking reception personnel...). The room was boiling hot, however we did have a balcony to cool down on. There was no point opening the door to cool the room down in the evening, as mosquitoes were keen on entering in herds. It resulted in two horrible nights of sleep, kind of ruining the mood for the days that we were around there.

As for the food... we had breakfast and dinner included. Breakfast: a tiny selection, but could be worse in terms of taste. Dinner: three-course meal that we gave up on after the first day. Bland food, meat very cold and all around just not tasty. Restaurants in the area have good food luckily.

Other than this we just got a bad impression altogether. The scent of cigarettes blowing through the dining room at dinner, the lights in the hallways not working (we needed our phone's flashlight to find our room after sunset, literally pitch black), non-English speaking and largely uninterested staff (even the most basic English words were too much)... our advice, definitely do not go here. Save yourself the trouble!

we went to this hotel w our school. the rooms were small and ur not really able to move in the bathrooms. the food was really bad, oily and often burnt (someone found a dead fly in their bread), but the cleaning ladies were nice and ship satosugu confirmed (🤍🖤). other workers were also kind (except for the man 👨‍🦳), but did not speak english so it was hard to communicate. we left a fairy sticker on the sink of room 204 so if u see it hit me up we are meant to be 🥺🧚‍♀️

Don't take this hotel as an option, if you are not travelling as a group. The hotel is crowded by school groups and they are loud. Food and rooms have also left me disappointed. Breakfast is not the best, but it is also not the worst. Rooms are bit old and there may be some damage already done to the room. So look for any damage right after you checked in

I payed 88,00 eur for 1 night stay in this hotel. The worst experience I ever had. The smell from toilet was making you sick, the bed was clean but for hotel room I dont have any words. You can check attached images. I booked this hotel on Booking, and they didn't include images of my room in my review. I can't imaging eating brakfast in this hotel, if the room was in that kind condition.

Hot, hot, hot. While our room was probably 80 or so, with the AC on full, others in our group had no Air at all.

Some in our group took their mattresses outside to be able to sleep.

The pillows are almost non existent once you put your head on them. If you bring your own, you should be fine, but with just one of theirs, good luck getting comfortable. Put the heat on top of that and it makes for a poor night of rest.

On the up side, the meal we were served at dinner was very good. They took care of our group and we were able to get seconds on each serving, except the gelato at dessert.

The room we got was disgusting. Paint was falling from the walls, the bathroom was so dirty and the room was so tiny. This is not a great place to visit while visiting Montecatini

All rooms are not same do not buy 201 it is like a dungeon do not buy before seeing this nightmare!!!
