The hotel's location is pretty good, only about 500 meters walk to Susukino. However, in winter, with all the snow and ice, it was a bit tough to drag my luggage from the subway. Also, the hotel breakfast was just so-so; no fried eggs or milk, mainly traditional Japanese style.

Everything else was great, but what I'm really unhappy about is that I paid an average of 10,620 JPY more per day than others, and we stayed for 6 consecutive days. The in-charge of the reception is awesome. We misplaced our key card. We have to pay an ¥11,000 fine. However, we found it a few days later. We contacted the gentleman in-charge of the reception and he immediately refunded our fine. The hotel is not exactly in the city centre, but is close to a park with easy access to local restaurants. The hotel room is spacious. The spa centre is well-equipped too. However, the hotel of this size only has two lifts, so the queue is always long.

Hotel location is convenience. It’s just opposite the Otaru JR station. Walking distance to most of the attractions. The breakfast buffet also provide wide variety of options, can customise our own sashimi bowl. But the breakfast location is not very big so need to go early to avoid congestion.

The hotel is quite dated. Can see that the decor, furniture etc are all probably seen decades of use. Regardless, the location was great - just outside the train station. The hotel rooms were decent. The hot springs included both outdoor and indoor options, and they felt absolutely amazing. Plus, after a soak, you get free popsicles! Breakfast had a great variety. And the best part? You could see snow-capped mountains right from your window.

We booked two rooms for a family of four. First, the location is strategic, they have a back door leading straight to Tanukikoji shopping street. Second, the service is attentive. Even though the rooms were labeled as non-smoking the was a smell of smoke in the room. I suppose this is coming over the AC to the rooms. We changed rooms three times until we considered it bearable. The breakfast was not held in the normal breakfast location but a huge meeting/ball room. As such, the atmosphere was not the greatest. The quality of the food was great though.

Hotel Nikko has great customer service at their front desk. Very helpful when we were checking on the Typhoon Mari status as we were driving from Obihiro to Sapporo. The breakfast selections are very extensive and complete . Close to the train station too.

The hotel room was a bit small, but the hot spring was fantastic. The location right in Tanukikoji 6 was super convenient.
