Asahidake Onsen Hotel Deer Valley, Asahikawa1 / 30
8.0
Asahikawa, Asahidake Onsen, 071-1472 Higashikawa Town, Kamikawa District, Hokkaido, Japan 🧭 Map
Pool: Pool
We enjoyed our stay at Deer Valley Hotel. Our room was connected twin room, very spacious and comfortable for a family of 4 people. Dinner and breakfast are both buffets with decent quality. The onsen is small but good.
It is a very worthwhile accommodation experience with two meals for one stay. The dinner is a two-course set menu with fresh ingredients and delicious cooking, and the service is attentive and attentive
They care about food waste a lot (which I absolutely understand), so they rather make a single plate for each person instead of preparing a huge buffet, and then throwing away half of the food - I absolutely welcome this idea, it’s very thoughtful
The bathhouse is large and clean, the public space is spacious, the bed in the room is large, and there is a high chair by the window to rest and watch the scenery. The scenery outside the window is pleasant
the dishes were incredibly well prepared, tasted amazing and looked delicious! The breakfast was also quite interesting, a single plate with all kinds of stuff - curry, bread, butter, sausages, salad
Some of the staff speak very good english as well, which made the communication quite pleasant. The dinner was an absolute highlight, a 5 course dinner with vegetables, fish etc

Great place to stay! Very clean and with nice equipment (nice coffee espresso machines as well in common areas). Bath room with Onsen outside was very good! Had a great night!
The vision from the outside onsen is wonderful
Good overall quality Onsen next to the roadside station Free parking Entrance fee ¥440 per adult, free locker Staff were friendly and courteous Everyone should try The outdoor onsen area as you can overlooking the ocean in the daytime while watching stars by night From the picture they displayed even the Japanese Emperor was visited this Onsen Highly recommend
This hotel has a rich history, as can be seen from the photos of celebrities on the walls. The hotel's hot spring facilities and rooms are very clean and tidy, but please note the opening hours
You can also order additional meals, some of which are very delicious, and you can enjoy dinner while enjoying the sea view. There is a seaside park nearby where you can go for a walk
Cheap outdoor onsen stopover when you're driving along the Shin-Hidaka area. They say the water is natural but I may have smelled chlorine. I could be wrong. There's also a decent restaurant in there.

Stayed for five consecutive days, the hotel looks old, the door is opened with a key, it has a sense of age. The hotel has all the necessary facilities. The hotel staff's English is not very good
It is recommended to use a translator to communicate more. The breakfast is OK, I recommend ordering Western food, and you can drink as much as you want, including coffee, tea, juice, etc
You need to set the functions manually, and if you don't pick up the clothes on time after washing, you need to call the front desk to pick them up because it will automatically lock
The stay was good, but I didn't expect the washing machine in this hotel to be so abstract
The parking lot was easy to get in and out of, the location was good, and it was convenient for eating out.
The hotel service is OK, but the problem is that it is too old. The whole hotel seems to be left over from the last century

Sapporo’s Secret Onsen Sanctuary Marukoma Onsen Ryokan, Chitose1 / 27

Dinner, I think, was decent for the price! The ingredients seemed fresh, and it wasn't as bad as some online reviews claimed! Overall, Lake Shikotsu is worth visiting, and Marukoma is worth experiencing! It's an old brand, and the service is quite good! When we checked in, we casually mentioned needing a taxi the next day, and at breakfast, a staff member came to ask if we needed help calling one!...
The view is really beautiful, like a painting, the onsen is very good, interestingly there is a certain time given for photos and videos, there are special hours when the onsen is closed.
Out of the three onsen hotels I stayed at in Lake Shikotsu, Suizantei, which is popular online and hard to book, was actually quite average with no scenic views from its onsen
And the view from the public cafe is incredibly comfortable; just sitting there and daydreaming is a pure delight! The rooms are just for sleeping, small, and without a view, but the previous two hotels weren't any better
I highly recommend driving there if you have a rental car! They even gave us soba and sake, so even though we didn't do the kaiseki dinner, we were full and well-rested
First, the onsen views are the best because of its elevated location. I wouldn't recommend the wild onsen as it's unmaintained and the water is very cold

He took us to all the places that we needed to go and picked us up free of charge. It was my daughters birthday while we were there and he organised a cake for her and a bottle of champagne for us free of charge
Would recommend this hotel to anyone. It is a bit out of the way but Dave and his wife go to extremes to help you whenever they can. Also Dave's wife is an excellent cook so try a meal while you are there
We stayed here for a couple of nights and Dave the owner was so helpful. He speaks limited English but tried to help us out wherever possible
He recommended a ski rental shop, helped me to purchase the lift pass and every day he dropped me off or picked me up at the ski place. The breakfast every morning was also wonderful
Dave's wife made very tasty meals. And the portion was perfect for me to start a day of high-energy skiing. At the hotel, there is also a washing machine
I extended my stay for another day for a total of 6 days. Dave san made everything so easy

July 2024: Very clean, beautiful scenery, well-equipped with a washer and dryer, a large refrigerator, and various pots and pans. The only thing missing was cooking oil and aluminum foil, which I provided myself
It's a bit far to the check-in point and supermarket, so driving is recommended. I stayed for three nights and really didn't want to leave. I hope to visit again during the snow season
The bed was very comfortable, with just the right firmness. Waking up in the morning, the view of the lake and trees outside the window was delightful
Beautiful townhouse in a super location!

The ski locker facility and drying room were an added bonus. Niseko Wow were fantastic to deal with, the back office, drivers and front desk teams were professional and very prompt in answering any questions we had
It’s not the location (which you can’t beat), nor the accommodations (which are spacious and comfortable), or the amenities (beautiful fully equipped kitchen + in room washer dryer + Netflix) that surprised me, it’s the incredible service which really blew me away! I thought this was a self catering apartment, but turns out the onsite team (Robby, Nelson et al) catered to our many needs, from calling...
We had a hiccup a few weeks ago when we visited, the driver of the van did not pick us up on time at the station so we had to walk with our luggage and board bags to the hotel in the pouring snow
5 bathrooms was nice to have and having washer and dryer and dish washer was also nice. There was a ski room on the first floor which is very convenient as was the location very convenient
Very well organised holiday by Ludo & his team @ Vacation Niseko. The apartment was very good value for money being clean, modern, well equipped, close to the slopes and all the restaurants
Mountainsides palace was a very nice facility, it was clean, as advertised and had all the amenities we needed for 4 people. Close to shops, restaurants and local bus

But stop to ask direction because I was quite lost to go Takasago Onsen (stop at the wrong bus stop). The staff was very kind to show me the direction (with some motivation)
This was a wonderful experience just remember the onsen closes in the morning so wake up and go
So thank you to him I have arrived my hotel safely
We stayed here for 2 nights, the hotel is located quite a distance from the city and is near the ski lifts and golf range, the reception is friendly and the hotel rooms are well-kept and clean
Wonderful hotel for family stay. Spa and playroom provided. Extraordinary view to whole Asahikawa city! A bit far away from central but worthy to stay for 2 nights!!!
There are also public baths available for free

4th night hotel, Sado Japanese Inn, too late to book a room, can only book a more partial place, located next to the sky, the hotel is by the river, the mountain pass fresh air, rooms are unified room type, although the place is remote, but many people stay, indoor and outdoor hot springs, dinner and breakfast general, but a surprise is horse meat sashimi
Think this is one of the legend still stands! Lovely onzen and truly healing! The “ruins” (one small and one big development in front) is pretty stunning when I visited. Wonder what will that like in the near future.
The calm surrounding scenery, the friendly staff, and the simple yet luxurious and neat rooms were all very good. It felt like I was in a Japanese drama. It's a really good place to stay after climbing Asahi-dake
Beautiful spot!!! Quality of hot spring is lovely, opened from 12:00- 8:00 for guests. Always river sounds can be heard. Wanna repeat to stay.
However, it seems difficult to access without a car, so I wonder if you can get there by public transportation
Far from city but view is fantastic. Food &bed is good

i really like their tatami japanese room, it's more than what I expected, it's my first time to sleep at futon like that so I don't know normally it's a but harder than normal bed or not, the view from windows room is mountain, magnificent, the staff so polite, there's a microwave at hallway, but no plate, for water at bathroom I don't know why it's not clear (little cloudy), but overall I really satisfied...
The front desk is full of handsome uncles, very enthusiastic. The Japanese-style room has a little bit of smoke, but it is acceptable. The smell will disappear after the air purifier is turned on for a while
The room, with tatami mats, was larger than I expected and well-appointed with modern amenities, making for a comfortable stay. The window afforded a clear view of Wakkanai Port, covered in heavy snow
There was always staff at the check-in counter, so I arrived in Wakkanai in the morning, stored my luggage, and was able to explore the city without any hassle
It's within walking distance of Wakkanai Station, the northernmost railway station in Japan, making it very accessible
When I returned in the evening and checked in, they even helped me store my luggage in the room

Besides the best part was that it was right next to the JR station and bus stop, very convenient access to Teine ski resort!🏂 I booked for 3 nights at first; however I really enjoyed staying here so I extended one more day
Though it was not a modern, fancy hotel, it is clean. Also the staff cleaned up the room every day. They couldn’t speak English very well but they were kind and willing to help
One of the best hotel i Japan so far
The only option in Teine. In saying that he staff were fantastic, the breakfast was like a home cooked meal and the rooms comfortable.

Places to eat are only available a few and for more affordable foods you have to go Hirafu. Shuttle bus is available to Hirafu and kutchan station. Onsen at the hotel is absolutelly stunning
The location is superb, an absolute paradise if you're an experienced skier! The hotel facilities are a bit dated, but the outdoor hot springs are amazing!
(Photography isn't allowed in the onsen; I asked staff if I could take a quick shot of the empty area when no one was around in the morning. Please respect onsen etiquette and don't embarrass our countryfolk
The hotel offers natural onsens (hot springs), multiple dining options, a fitness centre, spa and cosy lounges — perfect for unwinding after a day in the snow. Rooms often boast impressive views of Mt
The Hilton Niseko Village is a highly recommended resort hotel in Niseko, Japan, especially for ski lovers and nature seekers
The hotel itself is a bit dated and could benefit from renovation, but it functions well and remains comfortable. If this hotel were a person, it would be polite, reliable… and slightly overdue for a new suit

Breakfast and dinner are very good, and the ski rental service is also convenient. I heard the hotel is closing for renovations after this ski season, so I'm looking forward to updated and improved facilities
Both Hilton and Green Leaf offer direct gondola access to the mountaintop, allowing you to ski four different mountains – it's absolutely fantastic!
Great bar area, fantastic service there. Service providing transport details from the airport, was less helpful. Room nice, clean looks more dated than the photos.
Thoroughly enjoyed my week there. Clean & comfortable. Good food and a friendly staff. Sarahm & Mun at the bar really went the extra mile to provide Superior service.
The view from the room was really nice. The staff were super friendly. Highly recommended.
From the moment we pulled up to The Green Leaf, we felt incredibly welcome. The level of service here is personal and sincere; I was so impressed that the staff took the time to remember my name

I had piping hot miso soup and refilled the rice four times! Last time, breakfast and dinner were included, but this time, I only had breakfast. There is a microwave and an electric kettle, so you can warm up food
Was here for the day use onsen. Great quality of water for experienced Japan traditional onsen explorers. It’s an old hotel so facility is a bit outdated. One big tub max 6 people at once
Onsen plus towels rental were ¥550+¥100
Decent distance from Goryokaku Park though! The staff is very polite & appears to remember their guests so they'd quickly give me my key when I returned each night, without needing to ask or verify room numbers
I can't say how clean the onsen was because I didn't wear my glasses, but it seemed fine. Decent size & perfect temperature for me. In terms of onsens & shrines, it's in a good spot
I don't think it was other rooms or traffic, but random, loud thuds. In terms of pricing, I'm not familiar with how much onsen/ryokan usually are or how much a very nice one is

Guest house Hakodate Bay is super nice and well located it’s an easy walk over to the train station and the owner is super kind and friendly, he’ll even give some really good restaurant recommendations the rooms are a bit packed but well worth it
The location is near the station and very close to the scenic spots. Although it is not until three o'clock, I can go out to play while leaving my luggage there. I can buy things at convenience and make a meal there
I highly recommend it for those on the go solo travelers, and if you’re a huge one piece fan there’s a picture frame in the stairwell that has a one piece puzzle fully put together and framed
The shower was a little old, but the room had been renovated and was very clean. The beds had curtains, so even though it was a guesthouse, I was able to have some privacy
The price was also reasonable, even during the holidays. If I ever go to Hakodate again, I'd definitely like to stay here again
the location is good, about 1 km far from the shopping street. the room is lovely also.

Everything was super clean and in great condition. The bath is amazing and perfect for recovery after skiing all day! Jun made us amazing food for breakfast and lunch when we needed it, overall I would come again
Really cozy and well designed house in the beautiful forest! It was amazing to stay here, and the Sumomo the dog is cute and welcoming;) , and the famous spot "Nigel Terrace" & 森の時計cafe is in a walkable distance
The boss is very nice, the breakfast is rich, and the location is close to Elf Terrace. Overall, I am satisfied. I hope I have the opportunity to stay here again in the future.
A very beautiful location that is unfortunately a bit too far away if you don't have a car. But the host is very friendly. It might be useful to also make a dinner reservation
That is a very nice hostel and it is so worth to visit. The owner of it is very kind to us, breakfast also delicious.
