The staff service is excellent, and the outdoor onsen is beautiful and very enjoyable. The only downside is that during peak hours, there are a lot of external visitors, but if you avoid those times, it's incredibly relaxing. There are limited food options both inside and nearby, so it's advisable to come prepared for that. The room was lovely, and the futons were very comfortable.

I rented a car. The staff was very friendly and even came out to explain the parking lot to me. There are quite a few restaurants nearby, and the accessibility is convenient.

Breakfast is free, and I was surprised at how delicious the broth was for dishes like Nikujaga (meat and potato stew) and Oyako-ni (chicken and egg stew). There was a wide variety of food, and coffee was available in the room, so I was very satisfied! I would like to stay here again ^ ^

For Japan, the room was quite spacious, and the facilities were very new. Housekeeping was prompt, and the Japanese breakfast was exquisite. The large, transparent windows offered a great view.

The environment here is first-rate, and the air quality is excellent. There are lots of trees around, and the hot springs are fantastic, especially the outdoor ones where you can enjoy the snowy scenery. It's really suitable for families with children to come and visit.

I'd say it's 99% perfect. First of all, it's extremely well located. Secondly, there's a bar with all kinds of free drinks, as well as towels, toothbrushes, etc., and a snack bar with noodles and small snacks (more than enough for a meal). The cabin is fine, not too small. So, really perfect!

They helped with my luggage upon arrival, and provided a check-in service. They speak fluent English. I booked a room with a private onsen (hot spring bath), which overlooked the canal – the view was amazing! There was also a massage chair. The complimentary wagashi (Japanese sweets) were delicious, and the mini-fridge was stocked with free drinks. Dinner was also quite good.

Finally checked off my must-stay hotel! Getting to the hotel from Sapporo was easier than I expected. Zaborin offers a pick-up service from Kuch'an Station. The autumn scenery along the way was breathtaking. This adjective also describes the Michelin-starred dining experience; I personally preferred the breakfast, which was exceptionally refined.

Zaborin has entered into the ranks of one of my favourite ryokans in Japan. We visited in the midst of a very hot summer and even though the ryokan was not air conditioned and we were so warm the whole time (except in the room) we still enjoyed ourselves thoroughly. I used it this time for a motorcycle tour. You have to reserve motorcycle parking, which costs 300 yen per day, but it's underground so you don't have to worry about rain. There was no air conditioning, but having the windows open was enough. I'd like to use it again for another tour.

There was a fine layer of black dust on the duvet, but the bedsheets underneath were quite clean. The location is excellent, right next to Tanukikoji Shopping Street and Sapporo TV Tower. Quite easy to find, just straight ahead after arriving in Hakodate station (this is NOT where the Shinkansen stops). Front desk is friendly but the English is not very good.
