Where to stay in Osaka

I've stayed at Dormy Inn hotels near Mount Fuji before, and this time I tried their Tanimachi location. While getting to popular commercial areas requires a few transfers, the hotel itself is excellent and offers fantastic value for money.

The room was good. Although small, it was enough for a family of three. I booked a twin room, but it didn't have a bathtub. The hotel switched me to a room with a tub. The bed was smaller, but still comfortable enough to sleep in. After soaking in the hot spring every day, there were free ice cream sticks to enjoy to your heart's content, and Yakult in the morning. The hotel isn't large, but it's well-designed. There's a hot spring upstairs which is very clean. It's about a 7-8 minute walk from the subway station, so it's easy to find. Plus, there are three supermarkets right outside, which is super convenient.

Why did they give us a room on the 14th floor? For our entire 3-day stay, we were the only Chinese guests, and the room was so small we couldn't even open our luggage. The service wasn't as warm as the Holiday Inn Tokyo. The room was small but very clean, perfect for one adult and one child. It's close to the subway station and Shinsaibashi is nearby, making it super convenient for shopping. Since it's a special time, the hotel wasn't very busy. We had a late flight, and they kindly offered us a late checkout.

The hotel isn't right in the heart of Umeda, but on the upside, it's much quieter. It's about a 10-minute walk to Hankyu and a 15-minute walk to Hanshin, which is totally acceptable. The room was really spacious for Osaka standards, and we had a very comfortable stay. There's also an amazing yakitori place nearby called Matsuri that's a must-try!

The InterContinental Osaka is, without a doubt, the best hotel I've ever stayed in when it comes to service. The housekeeping is virtually perfect; even the toiletries and skincare products on the bathroom counter are artfully arranged. The room was spacious with a great view. It's about an 8-minute walk to Umeda Hankyu Department Store. We didn't book breakfast, but there's a semi-buffet breakfast place on the first floor of the mall downstairs that was really good. The room layout was bright, spacious, and stylish.

This is my third time booking here, and the location is unbeatable! It's so convenient to get anywhere. The drugstore downstairs even has some items that feel cheaper than Don Quijote! You can pop down and compare for yourselves.

The hotel's location is excellent; it's just across a small street from an elevator entrance to Higobashi Subway Station, making subway travel incredibly convenient. For a single room, it's quite spacious – I could even open up my 28-inch suitcase. Plus, the hotel's decor feels quite new overall. This is a great hotel. Check-in, getting around, and check-out are all very convenient. The hotel has excellent facilities, consistently good as always. The hotel is overall OK, nothing that outright fails. However carpet is a bit worn. Pillow is not the usual medium soft fluffy type, some kind of beads inside, which me and my wife are not used to. The spare bed i slept on was too soft and gave me a bit of backache. All said, for the price, is what you can expect.

The hotel environment is really nice, I'd say it's on the higher end for a Smile Hotel. The front desk service was excellent, very attentive, and they offer luggage storage. You can get fresh towels daily, and housekeeping comes every three days. It's also very close to the subway station.

I would like to sincerely thank 李 and 伏见 for their efforts in coordinating with various parties and helping me successfully retrieve my lost bag from the Shinkansen lost and found centre. Even though the reception was busy with other travelers and this wasnt part of their job, they still took the time to help me. Because of their help, I was able to enjoy the rest of my Japan trip.

It's close to Tenma Station, making it convenient for sightseeing and travel. The Tenma Station shopping street is the longest in Japan and has many unique shops, making it a fun place to visit any time of the day. Personally, I prefer walking around Dotonbori or Tsutenkaku.

Although I was late in checking in, I was grateful that you contacted me and dealt with the matter courteously. Nice place to stay. Location is very convenient. There is a good supermarket next door. Rooms are clean. Furniture is a bit old and used, but that's ok. The bed is extremely comfortable. I think this is one of the best beds that I've slept on in hotels. The place is huge and many people stay in the hotel, so maybe number of amenities like laundry machines is not enough for such a big hotel.

Extra good location near Dotonbori (5min walk). Lot of cafe, shops, money exchange, subway and railway stations, etc. Perfect for active travellers. Small rooms but it is normal for Japan. Strictly recomended! P.S. Request for quiet rooms during booking. Rooms in front part of building are noisy.

The location was excellent, conveniently situated near Dotonbori and just a few steps away from the iconic Glico Man billboard. Our family of three booked a room with two double beds. However, the room was dusty, and we noticed particles floating around, which caused my son to cough. The hotel has self-service laundry facilities on the 7th and 8th floors. Great location, but the hotel has seen better days. The bed was uncomfortable, amenities were minimal, and I’ve stayed in college dorms that felt similar. You’re only given one key — lose it and you’ll be charged ¥3000. Not great value for the price.

It was nice to stay here. The location of the hotel is very nice, only 4 minutes away you will reach the Gligo sign, 7-11 under the hotel.

A very nice hotel with friendly staff. They kept to our every need and made the stay really amazing. The coffee machine was a bonus, we had fresh coffee of choice every day.

Very small twin rooms here which means you cannot fit two suitcases open in the room. The bathroom is ridiculously small. Charge for luggage if left for a couple of hours after check out.

The hotel elevator was a bit hard to find on my first visit, but the staff were really nice, and both check-in and check-out were smooth. The room size was perfect for just me. There's a Family Mart convenience store just a few steps downstairs, and Daikokucho subway station is only a few hundred meters away. It's a decent hotel, I stay here every time I visit. The location is super convenient, right in the Shinsaibashi shopping district. Daimaru department store is just across the street, and Shinsaibashi subway station is also just a short walk across the road.

The hotel was clean and amenities were available on the ground floor opposite the lifts. Service was courteous and the view was great. Location was pretty central but not the closest to the train station. The hotel is very inflexible with checkout timing, but this is par for the course for Japan outside of western chains.

Even though the hotel is a bit old, it's kept very clean, and everything is well-maintained and fully equipped. The lobby has a smoking room, and each floor has an ice machine, microwave, and vending machines, which is really convenient. The best part is the excellent location. I'll definitely stay here again next time.

The hotel was conveniently located near the Shinkansen station, so it was easy to transfer from one city to another. The area outside the city is more of a business/residential district so there is not quite a lot to do at night. The room was clean, although a bit small, our 23kg luggage could barely fit when we opened them. But otherwise, it was nice and clean.

The hotel's location is incredibly convenient, right inside the station. It's directly above JR Shin-Osaka Station, yet the soundproofing is excellent; you barely hear any noise, ensuring a good night's sleep. Highly recommended.

Excellent for couples, decently small sized hotel room. Perfect location, just right outside of the Shinkansen gantries. One down side is they don't have coin operated washing and drying machine, you'll have to use their laundry service over the counter.

Great hotel with fast self check in process. Location is great if you are in road trip. Car parking facility available (around JPY1500-2000 per night, subejct to your parking time). Nice view and breakfast buffet available. However, quite a lot of visitors these few days. Adjacent to Osaka Legoland and Universal. Recommended if you are traveling to Osaka with your family.

The room was spacious, but the soundproofing was terrible. There was a constant strange noise, which made it really hard to sleep well. I probably wouldn't stay somewhere so far out if I wasn't going to SCC. It's really remote, and very windy!

For Osaka, it’s great. The rooms are above average in terms of size. The breakfast is nice.

The room is very nice and bigger than most hotels in Japan. We could open two large suitcases and still have space to walk around. The vibe is great and very suitable for couples. They even provide a free drink (alcohol, juice, coffee, and many other options) for every guest. The cleanliness is excellent, and since there’s no bathtub, the bathroom has more space. Staff were really friendly and helpful! The bed was comfortable and the room is a good size by Japan's room size standards. Our stay was very comfortable! The only thing to take note of is that they don't store your luggage for you for free. They charge around 1,000 yen per luggage. They do have lockers which you can store your luggage for free. This hotel was really great. Location is easy to reach by public transport and it’s in a quiet neighbourhood walking distance to all attractions in Umeda. Clean and staff is friendly too. Recommend!

This is my second stay at this hotel, and it's really good. The room has excellent soundproofing and the windows are well-insulated. Complimentary soft drinks are a nice touch here, and the lobby doubles as a small bar.
