Koran no Yu Kinkouroh, Ibusuki1 / 30
8.6
Kyushu, Ibusuki, 4507 Nishikata 🧭 Map
At breakfast the next day, the chef even arranged for us to sit by the window with a view of the sea (other Japanese customers sat back in their original seats from the previous day's dinner; the chef made a special exception for us foreign customers)
The hotel includes breakfast and dinner, and I have to say, the food was absolutely amazing! I've stayed at many onsen hotels that include meals, and while the kaiseki/kaiseki cuisine is often exquisite, it's not particularly delicious
The downside is that it's a bit far from the city center, and the limited bus service in Ibusuki makes getting around difficult. By train, Hamamiya Station is about seven or eight minutes away
There are also few dining options nearby. I found Shinshuan about 500 meters away, and a FamilyMart a little further. However, the road is dark at night, so it's hard to see, and walking can be quite daunting
It's about a 10-minute walk from Miyahama Station to the hotel (you can arrange a pick-up service from the station if you contact the hotel in advance; we didn't have much luggage)
The room was amazing, especially the large tatami area with Sakurajima just outside the window. The large public bath on the top floor also faces Sakurajima

Kyushu, Minamioguni, 6755-1 Manganji 🧭 Map
There are separate baths for hotel guests (men’s and women’s), baths open to both guests and visitors (also divided by gender), as well as a private onsen. One of the onsens also has a sauna
What a wonderful experience in my stay at Krokawa-So! I particularly enjoy the public onzen which has a beautiful scenic view, and the two private onzens in my room ( both an in-door and an out-door)
The dinner and breakfast were also very good in terms of quality and local varieties! I shall return again!
The room is nestled by the mountains and water, offering direct access to the outdoor wilderness right outside the door – a truly exceptional experience
This ryokan is a bit further from the main cluster of inns, but that was exactly what we wanted—to enjoy quiet walking.
At night, our futons were laid out for us, adding to the authentic experience
This is a large ryokan located around Kurokawa Onsen, with a main building and an annex. This time, we booked a room in the annex, which was very spacious and even had a loft

Hotel Sakura Ureshino, Sasebo1 / 24
9.2
Kyushu, Sasebo, Otsu-1021 Ureshinomachi Oaza Shimojuku 🧭 Map
The hotel also boasts a fantastic amenity: a rooftop onsen (hot spring). It was incredibly relaxing and offered a great way to unwind after a long day of travel. The main downside, however, was the dining options
It's a bit far from JR Ureshino Onsen Station, so I'd recommend taking the bus. You can choose your own yukata on the first floor, and the hotel's public bath is on the 10th floor, which was pretty good
The hotel is renovating, but no disturbances from that, and I’m certain that after it finished, it will be great. Good facilities and hospitality. If I’m go back to the town, I would stay here again
Overall, I had a very pleasant experience at this hotel. It is a large hotel and the price was reasonable for the quality of the stay. The highlight for me was the cleanliness
While convenient, both the breakfast and dinner buffets were quite expensive. There are probably more affordable local options nearby if you are looking to save on meals
Very nice hotel, appeared to be renovated recently. Large room and a very nice lobby/resting area with various complimentary teas (Ureshino is famous for tea).

Ibusuki Kokoronoyado, Ibusuki1 / 30
7.7
Kyushu, Ibusuki, 9227-6 Higashikata 🧭 Map
On the first day, I had dinner at the inn, and on the second day, I had dinner at the restaurant attached to Kokoro no Yu, and I was satisfied with both
I made regular use of it and was worth driving down to from Kagoshima City everytime. There are plenty of baths with varying temperatures, the big
There are a wide variety of baths, including a jacuzzi and sauna in the indoor bath, a tub bath, a bath where you can use a mud pack, and a carbonated spring where you can watch TV
Tubs or barrels I don't know how to describe them, are particularly relaxing; especially under a clear sky at night. The steam room was designed very well
Guests staying at Kokoro no Yado can use the neighboring Kokoro no Yu baths as many times as they like, but the baths are open until 10pm, so I thought the bath times were shorter than at other hot spring inns
Stayed a second night and were moved to an older part of hotel. Not a problem, room was spacious and comfortable with a great view. Would stay again if in the area. Recommended

They were polite and respectful, and the atmosphere was great, allowing for a comfortable stay. The hot springs and sauna are open from morning until late
There is a wide selection of food for breakfast
I only took family photos, so I don't have any photos of the hotel itself, but I'll try to break down the pros and cons in as much detail as possible
A hotel with a large bath! You can use both the main bath and the annex bath. The Dyson hair dryer dries your hair very well
The pools are clean and comfortable 🤩
4 friends traveling together, take a taxi from the airport to the hotel for only 1500¥, breakfast with freshly squeezed juice is superb, there is a Japanese supermarket near the hotel, the room is super large no disadvantages hot springs are good, there is also 7-Eleven downstairs

New Station Hotel, Nagasaki1 / 8Good price
7.2
Kyushu, Nagasaki, 5-4, Eisho Higashimachi 🧭 Map
It's good for a walk right behind the shrine and it's very quiet. There's also a stream flowing nearby, so it was very healing.
Near to Isahaya station The hotel is around 5-10 minute walk to Isahaya station. The receptionist is nice but barely understand and speak English
Good staff services Always stay here. Very helpful hotel staff when seek for help !
The room is neat and it’s super great to have a foot massage machine in it
The facilities were old, and the bathroom was noticeably old, with things like the hand soap containers, and it didn't feel clean. I felt it was a bit disappointing considering the price.

Kyushu, Beppu, 3 Chome-14-3, 874-0920 Beppu, Prefektura Oita, Yaponiya 🧭 Map
We booked a room with a private hot spring bath and a two-meal plan (dinner and breakfast). Being able to enjoy the sea view while soaking in the onsen was wonderful
I chose this seaside hotel to enjoy the sunrise and sunset while soaking in the hot spring. The two meals included were decent, and the seafood was fresh. The mentaiko for breakfast was a local specialty
The room was very spacious, more than enough for two people; it actually felt a bit large for just myself. It was approximately 10 tatami mats in size (excluding the bathroom, separate toilet, entryway, and balcony)
However, as other reviews mentioned, the front desk staff are mostly older aunties and uncles, and their service attitude was just average, though it seems to be pretty standard for service staff in the Oita region
Right across the first road from the hotel entrance, there's a large shopping mall with a supermarket, Muji, Starbucks, and everything you could need. However, most seaside hotels tend to be older
This one has been renovated and feels quite new. You have to lay out your own futon on the tatami mat (mine was a mess!), so for elderly guests with mobility issues, I'd recommend a standard bed

Kannawa Onsen Hotel Sansuikan, Beppu1 / 30
9.0
Kyushu, Beppu, 628-1 Tsurumi 🧭 Map
Sansuikan is an older hotel, but it's well-maintained. After a night's rest, I took the direct bus from Beppu to Fukuoka Station the next day 🚌 (remember to buy your ticket the day before, as it's very crowded)
The outdoor bath on the 1st floor had a landscaped area, was even larger, and there was also a dry steam room. The breakfast and dinner were incredibly filling, and I couldn't finish them all
Go to Beppu Station's west exit, on the left, at Station 3. Take Line 1 bus 🚌 to the last stop, Kannawa. It's a two-minute walk to Sansuikan. From Sansuikan, walk left for about eight minutes to Umijigoku 😊
There are Chinese staff, and when we visited, there were also several Chinese female university interns. However, most of the staff didn't speak English, so I needed mobile phone translation and gestures
Umijigoku isn't big, but it has a foot bath where you can soak your feet. An hour's worth of exploration is enough. Beppu is a rural area, so don't expect great restaurants
That night, I ate at Hama Sushi 🍣 across from Sansuikan. Then, I went back to the hotel to soak in the hot springs. The sixth floor is the best, with its open-air bath

The tatami style is good but the are plenty of dust above us Location is good beppu tower is nearby bepou station not far, free car parks for self driver traveller (start to collect fees July onwards) Onsen is good Overall nice hotel
The hotel room was very spacious with a great location and sea views. There were many dining options nearby, and the service was excellent. The bathhouse was comfortable, and the breakfast was delicious
The cleanliness was also top-notch. I had a really good night's sleep on the floor in the Japanese-style room
Although a bit old, it is very clean and well-maintained, with all the necessary facilities. The onsen was fantastic—great temperature, nice room, and very convenient to enjoy
5 star hotel prior and the air-conditioner, hair dryer and toilet exhaust were noisy and faulty, while in the older Tsuruta where everything works well! This don't judge a book by its cover, older hotels is just as good! I've attached a photo of the park and harbour view from my room at Tsuruta
The Japanese-style room has a really nice vibe, and the smell of the tatami mats is so soothing

Onsen Hotel Nakahara Bessou, Kagoshima1 / 30
8.5
Kyushu, Kagoshima, 15-19, Terukuni-Cho 🧭 Map
The staff responded excellently and the corona protection and earthquake protection equipment was reliable
The rooms were indeed more spacious than those in a business hotel, but the facilities were rather outdated, and there were no toiletries provided at the hot spring area
We had two nights and two nights with breakfast and dinner, but they served different dishes and both were good in quantity and quality. There are no complaints about the location and hot springs
Very good hotel, nice staff and delicious food. I totally recommend to choose it for stay in Kagoshima
I stayed with the GOTO campaign. Since the mince started and I was running low on food, I asked by email the day before what food would be offered. I received a polite response and asked what I could eat
I used the hot spring twice that night, but the front desk noticed that I had a wet towel and I heard from him. I wanted to use it again when there was a staff member who cared so much about me

With the active assistance of the customer service staff, we were lucky to solve and overcome the problem and actively compensated for our losses. Thank you trip, it is still a booking platform that makes me feel at ease
Amakusa is at the edge of Kumamoto, and transportation is inconvenient. You can take the Amakusa bus from Kumamoto, which takes two and a half hours on the road. There will be no group tours in this place, which is good
The men's and women's baths will rotate on single and double days, so we go to the bathhouse in the evening and early morning. It is really relaxing and great. It should be one of the best hotels in Amakusa
Hotel had public baths and breakfast buffet came with the room we booked. Spread of the buffet was alright. Location wise, it’s nothing exceptional, but I don’t think there’s much to do in town anyways
The hotel is located in the first row of the sea view. The scenery in the morning and evening is superb. The service staff is very friendly and the food is also very satisfactory
We were about 15min drive to the dolphin centre which was the main itinerary for our day in Amakusa. View was good, hotel had its own garden area and sea view

Ryokan Miyama Sansou, Minamioguni1 / 27High rating
9.4
Kyushu, Minamioguni, 6393 Manganji, Minamioguni-machi 🧭 Map
After gesturing at the front desk for a while, the hotel drove us there directly – a 10-minute drive! Walking would have taken an hour, thank you! Additionally, the front desk helped us book return bus tickets at check-in (there aren't many buses from Kurokawa Onsen to Fukuoka/Kumamoto each day, so booking in advance is essential to avoid missing out!)
The food was fantastic and delicious, and there were so many hot spring options to choose from, with beautiful scenery too. I really loved the cloaks provided; they not only kept me warm but also looked elegant when worn
This is a perfect place for a complete break in a secluded location. Although communication in languages other than Japanese was a bit challenging, the staff's proactive and welcoming attitude helped resolve everything.
This hotel is part of the same group as Sanmizuki and Shinmeikan. Sanmizuki is adjacent to Fukayama Sanso, located halfway up a mountain at the source of the hot spring
Guests can enjoy free access to the forest hot spring at Sanmizuki. The hot spring quality is superb, with abundant foam. The hotel provides free shuttle service
Before arriving, we contacted Ctrip to arrange for the hotel to pick us up from the bus station. The next day, we wanted to go to the Hirano Observatory

Kyushu, Fukuoka, 1-9-18 Hakataeki-Minami, Hakata-ku 🧭 Map
I had a dinner party there that night, so I decided to stay overnight. The room was very relaxing, and I was able to enjoy the jacuzzi and sauna. I felt like I was at a resort for a while, and I was sad to leave the room
Here we go~~ For me, except for the pillow, this place was better than the new One Hotel!! Exit Hakata Station's east exit and take the main road on the right. A leisurely 10-minute walk, a brisk 5-minute walk
The ambiance is charming, and the location is close to Hakata Station. The staff are excellent—polite and helpful. There's free parking with multiple entries, making it perfect for trips based in Fukuoka.
A new perspective to define luxury. A bit tropic and funky way of premium resort, of course: with A Style😊😊😊 The balcony, bathroom and the aisle after entrance are great spots for me and my husband
I always stay here when I come on business. The rooms are spacious and relaxing, so I can relax and unwind. The amenities and drinks are also great. The breakfast food is delicious!
Hip hotel, hip food, room, balcony, all-inclusive food~ And a hotel with a 2:00 PM check-out time ♥️❤️🩷 Stayed here twice

Kyushu, Kumamoto, 7-35 Kamitoricho 🧭 Map
There's also a fabric deodorizer in the closet. Finally, it's a great place to stay, as it's within walking distance of the city center and popular tourist spots, and it's also close to Kumamoto Castle and Sakuramachi
The interior has an antique feel, yet it feels well-maintained. You have to go to the main lobby to get water, but all the amenities are provided at the check-in desk. You don't need a toothbrush or anything else
It's a bit disappointing that you have to use the lobby water purifier to get water, but there's a vending machine in the lobby, so it's not a problem. I couldn't use the bathroom because of my cold, but I slept well
I searched for a single room on Trip. com and booked, but it kept showing as a double. Unfortunately, the staff were very helpful. It seems like a fairly old place, but the staff were friendly and helpful
The location was perfect, and the accommodation had a unique atmosphere. The room was larger than most hotels, and there was a table in the room, so we could comfortably enjoy beer and other snacks
The staff were extremely helpful and friendly, and the location was also very convenient, with easy access to many stores as well as public transportation. I would definitely stay there again.

Had a great stay at this hotel, the staff were very kind and helpful, the view of mountains in our room was beautiful and especially loved the cute little stickers of penguins with directions and recommendations around the hotel! Location is ideal with access to nearby restaurants, seaside park and Beppu station
📍 Unbeatable Central Location The convenience of this hotel's location truly cannot be overstated. It places you right in the heart of Beppu, making it the ideal base for exploration
Everything you need is literally just a footstep away: * The main bus stop and ticketing office are right there, providing effortless access to the Beppu Hells and other sights
* Tokiwa Beppu Shopping Mall, a major department store, is essentially across the street, perfect for shopping, gifts, or picking up local snacks from the basement supermarket
From the unbeatable location to the superb amenities and, most importantly, the incredibly caring staff, my stay was nothing short of perfect
* The JR Beppu Station is a quick and easy 10-minute walk away, connecting you to the rest of Kyushu

The REX hotel is beautifully located along the Beppu coastline, which made the stay even more enjoyable
Overall, I was very satisfied with the hotel facilities. I believe that when guests face unexpected difficulties, a little extra kindness and support from staff can greatly enhance their overall impression of the hotel
When we arrived, we were warmly welcomed in the parking area, and I would like to sincerely thank the staff member who kindly helped carry our luggage to the front desk—his hospitality made a great first impression
However, if I may offer one piece of feedback regarding customer service: during our stay, the battery of our rental car was discharged

So satisfied! The hot springs were great, and the room was clean and cozy. The staff were warm and polite, with excellent attention to detail. Breakfast was rich and varied, and the value for money was excellent
It's not as warm as the others but it makes staying in the onsen longer possible. Was pleasantly surprised about the complementary dinner and breakfast! Dinner was great and was paced out so it was just nice
For breakfast it was a buffet spread that was great! I love the selection and freshness. It is in between mountains so the drive might be long but so worth it for the price
The hot spring baths are large and clean; I especially loved the indoor pulse-jet onsen and the outdoor dry sauna cabin. The air in the mountains is fresh, and the climate is cool
The tatami room has a large square window, offering a landscape view like a traditional Chinese painting. It was very pleasant to drink tea and chat while enjoying the scenery
Service: Great! Check-in was very comfortable. A butler escorted us to the lobby to relax, offered coffee and candies, and then took us to our room

Amenities are plentiful, including a welcome drink! The people at the front desk were very friendly and it was worth the price! I was very satisfied! It didn't bother me that much, but those who look for perfection might be concerned about the dirt and mold in the bathroom, but generally all areas were clean and I was very satisfied!
The bathroom is quite big, there is a stove and washing machine in the room, but it is a little far from the JR station
Really nice hotel. I would return next time I visit Isahaya.
Very friendly staff, quiet location
Isahaya trip and a short stay for one night. The room is not big but very clean. There is also free laundry service and drying is also free. There are also three or four izakayas near the station
I thought this was just another business hotel, but I was surprised to see an observation bath on the top floor. Men can use it from 8:40pm until 11pm, so I had it all to myself.

The surrounding area is also very quiet, so you won't be disturbed at night. The hotel staff are very friendly and help make your beds every day. So I booked 3 nights for this short trip
It is very attractive that parking is free at a hotel located downtown, and since there were not many guests, we were able to rent out the large public bathhouse
The location is fantastic! It's very convenient for visiting Shiroyama Observatory, Terukuni Shrine, the planetarium, Kagoshima Castle, and Sakurajima
I would definitely stay here again if I come to Kagoshima next time. Highly recommended for those who like Japanese-style houses

The room is private and offers good privacy. The common areas, restrooms, and showers are very clean. Free meals are available 24 hours a day. It offers good value for money
The free drinks and food were simple, and the space felt friendly and welcoming. For those on motorcycle tours, there is also ample space for bike parking, which is great
It's a bit of a walk from the station, but not so much that it's impossible to walk. There's no space to spread out the suitcase, but I was able to spread it out on the bed, so it was perfect for just sleeping
The room is tidy and clean. Good value with privacy. Free food 24 hrs with is incredibly amazing with such a price. Will come back again next time if I travel solo.
The balance of the space was excellent, with the staircase, comic book shelves, and tables all blending together to create a natural and stylish feel
The only downside is that check-in is only available from 8 PM, which is a bit inconvenient
