Not sure how does this place qualify as a 4-star hotel.
The only good about the place are the breakfast selection and the location, that's where it ends.

We've stayed in hostels in better condition. How can you sell rooms with broken doors, nails sticking out of door frames and dirty showers? Along with dirty bedding.

The worst part is the staff's attitude about it. Whilst the doors were "fixed" in a prompt manner (still not working properly), we had to ask twice for the stained bedding to be changed. We were met with rolling eyes and not a single apology. As in, "how dare you bother us with these insignificant complaints?"
These are basic levels of cleanliness and functionality any hotel that is charging for an overnight stay is meant to provide.
The hotel was fully booked on that night, but not on the following night. Nevertheless, a change of room was not offered when we asked.

The weather was great, so we wanted to make use of the pool. That didn't seem to have been readied for the season either. Water levels below the filters and the pool didn't look clean. Why is this?

We didn't end up taking this further as we realised staff couldn't care less and we just wanted to enjoy our holiday.
Also this is not at all due to language barriers - 2/3 of our party speaks Spanish.
Will not be recommending this place to anyone.

Ps. If you book a family room and want a balcony, don't believe the pictures online showing balconies with a nice leafy backdrop. You will get a sliver of space where you cannot even all fit to have a seat.

Where do I start? For here last night and was given the keys to a room which we didn’t book. Two singles instead of a double. Apparently they can’t change anything, even though that’s what we paid for. Then the shower door fell off. We spoke to reception on our way out and they we could swap rooms when we return.
When we got back I opened the door and went flying (I’m on crutches after a knee replacement) the air conditioning unit had leaked all over the nasty broken up wooden floor, thus causing a bloody painful fall.
We moved rooms, to a room equally as bad, barely any of the plug sockets work, shower door is also hanging off, air conditioning unit is rubbish, phone doesn’t work, no kettle, AND NOT ONE SMOKE ALARM IN SIGHT. Absolute death trap.
Avoid at all costs.
This is meant to be 4*
I would give it 2* at absolute best.
