Hotel Maria del Mar in Lloret de Mar

A terrible hotel, even for four stars, although I knew that you can't expect too much despite the stars.
I didn't expect much from the rooms, and I was still disappointed.
The beds were just loose frames with unattached mattresses that squeaked at the slightest movement and constantly shifted around.
The Wi-Fi worked worse than under a bridge.
Also, the air conditioning was broken, which wasn't exactly pleasant in 30+ degree heat.
While there was a wide selection of food at the buffet, most of it was poorly prepared, unseasoned, and some of it inedible.
We booked all-inclusive, but that's not a 100% guarantee.
For breakfast, you could get juice or coffee/hot chocolate in addition to water, but for dinner, only water, as anything else would have cost extra.
Furthermore, the entrance to the dining room smelled of rotten fish. The only positive aspects of the hotel were the security, as the security guards were competent and provided security in and around the hotel, even at night.
The service was also decent, and the staff were friendly and helpful, although one receptionist initially sent us to the wrong side of the hotel upon arrival, and we had to search for our room.
The hotel's location was also one of its few positives, as it was just a few meters from various fast-food restaurants, cafés, bars, and clubs.
The beach was also just a few hundred meters away.
In summary, the stay at this hotel was rather unpleasant.

Only good thing about the hotel is that you have burger king and kfc in front of it so you dont stay hungry because their food is discusting. Air condition does not work in the room so we were cooked alive inside, and room cards do not work also. We got 3 cards for 3 people in the room and returned with 6 od them

In the bathroom were a lot of cockroaches they were in the water in bath and
on the bed. Service of this hotel were not intreseted about everything and didnt want to help us. Food was great but everyday you must eat the same things and you didnt have drinks in hotel they were only water in the restaurant. Air conditioning werent work and in tv they were only 5 canal work.

The only good thing about this hotel is the location within walking distance from the beach, right next to the bus station. The rooms were small and very dirty, the place smells like an old attic. The beds were old and uncomfortable. The bathroom was too small for an adult and a child to enter together (imagine!). There was a cleaning service everyday but you could barely tell that the place was ever cleaned. It is disgraceful what could be found under the beds, I am sure that area has never been cleaned. The pools were small and needed renovating badly. The elevator needed servicing as it was making loud noises and basically stopping in the middle of the floors or not moving at all. The staff was rude and passed -off, especially at the reception. Under no circumstances does this hotel deserve 4 stars. Maybe in another universe, or 50 years ago it was an ok hotel, but since then nothing was done to renovate it and it is falling apart. I do not recommend it at all. It is more like a hostel than a 4 star hotel.
