Lovely pacious penthouse appartment up on the hill above beach and away from the hustle and bustle of Unawatuna. Great views from the balcony. Super breakfast up on the roof. Excellent service. Highly recommend.

5 mins away from the beach. the host is helpful and the place is cozy. paid Rs 5,500 for a one night stay in a standard double room with AC. it was a steal at that price.

Not biting ones, but anyway its not pretty. Our mistake :D Room has everything to fight mosquitos, even baby spray. You can also order food for evening and enjoy it on the balcony with a nice view, soundscape

This one has incredible view, nice manager, who does things seriously well. Be aware, do not left balcony doors opened at evening night with lights on inside: room will be infested with bugs

The establishment is managed and operated by Lara and his family who live in the ground floor apartment of the building, providing a local and family feel to the experience

The hotel is located on the beach front but you cannot actually go in the sea here due to the rocks. However there is a lovely secluded beach a little further to the right (approx 15 min walk along the beach)

Had a wonderful experience at Era Beach. The staff were friendly, the room was clean and comfortable, and the location was perfect. Great amenities and smooth check-in made the stay even better. Highly recommend!

There are a number of staff around but due to the nature of the hotel they often need to be tracked down to order a drink etc

This hotel may not be for everyone but it certainly suited us. There are only 8 rooms so things are very quiet and relaxed

Steward Sanjeewa is most attentive helpful and makes ones stay memorable

The staff were attentive, and the grounds and rooms are well maintained and clean. While the ocean isn’t safe for swimming, walking along the beach is pleasant, and the beautiful freshwater pool was a real highlight

Overall experience was really good, the pool is great and the beach beautiful, just be aware that it is not possible to swim because of the stream and dangerous fish

The Apa Villa Hotel is nicely situated between the beach and the main coastal road. Fortunately, the sound of the ocean outweighs the traffic noise

Although it rained for most of our two day February stay, we enjoyed the spacious room with an adjoining bathroom and the very large, relaxing verandah - perfect for contemplating the water

Little nice boutique hotel directly on the beach set in a wonderful garden with pool. We had super big suite with Patio and personal butler. Personnel was nice and careful, we had great breakfast and a very good dinner

The hotel is in a great location on the beachfront, currently only about quarter of rooms available due to the others being upgraded, this has not been an issue with noise

It's nice to be in the lush greenery away from the main road and it's easy to get to different beaches from here. The pool area is lovely, with nice seating We would definitely return for another stay

The food was great and the restaurant staff very friendly and accommodating, the pool and setting beautiful, and the receptionist Sadew was always there with a smile, on hand to help us in any way he could

The dinner was fantastic and we made friends with two members of staff, Dilan and Madu who made our stay extra special. We hired a car and there is lots of parking. Only 5 minutes drive to turtle beach in Unawatuna

The pool is beautiful, and the food impressed us with both taste and portion size. We stayed in a Triple Deluxe Room with a nice balcony and a mezzanine bunk bed; the washroom was also well-sized

The staff were also happy to let us use all the hotel facilities for the entire day after check out for not extra charge. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay - it was the perfect way to end our 3 week holiday in Sri Lanka

Staff were all super friendly and professional, except one day a young restaurant worker at the dinner directly asked for money while serving you dinner, explaining his salary is small and if we can help him, very awkward! Swimming pool area is cute! Just cross the road and you can swim at the beach 🏖️ cool

Cosy hotel on Unawatuna beach in Sri Lanka. Room was ok, equipped with AC and vent, was cleaned upon request. Internet connection was also fine

The property is in front of the beach and they are building one more property on the beach itself. Now, coming to the food, the breakfast was decent. I did not see much activity in the kitchen apart from the breakfast

For breakfast they serve some pasta, rice, eggs, curry, fresh fruits, tea and coffee with toasts. Free sun beds are available for hotel guests

The pool is rather small and there is no beach at the hotel but a short stroll over the rocks or up the road takes you right there. I am still very happy with the hotel

Good for a spend a day and relax with friends. Beach is near the hotel and you can have a walk. The car park is bit small but parking can be made near the hotel

Rooms are clean and all health guidelines are practice for covid-19. Pool is bit small and we have not used it. Food was set menu with different options and tea was arranged with some small snacks

Although there is no beach access from the hotel, few minutes walk away you have a beach by yourself. The food is delicious, the rooms are specious and clean with ocean view & the bed is super comfy!

Beautiful place. Has a fountain, pools, monkeys on trees and even monitor lizards. Very good rooms, comfortable beds and bathrooms. There is WiFi on all the hotel area.

We had chipmunks, monkeys, peacocks and lizards close to our room. The pool and garden were just fine. The hotel of older age, but with a lot of special charm from this fact and the dark wooden furniture

The garden area is beautiful and relaxing. The main town/beach area is about a mile away and accessible by walking along the main road or tuk tuk

Breakfast was also great and we will definitely be staying with them again when we return the location was perfect for us and they also helped with tuk tuk transport throughout and also helped us get a taxi to our next destination

There are nearby train stations Unawatuna (walkable) and Talpe (650 in a tuk tuk). We took a train to Galle from Unawatuna which was very cheap (20 LKR each) and only 2 stops

On arrival we received a refreshing welcome drink and greeted by Melani and her friendly staff. She told us we had been upgraded which was a lovely surprise

All the essential amenities were there. Excellent location and the host was very hospitable. Room interior is very pleasant to the eye. Bed is super comfortable and most importantly the bathroom is spacious and clean

It is quite close to the beach as well. All in all a great place to stay and definitely value for money

We stayed at this hotel in December 2025. This gorgeous hotel is located at very convenient place. Room is large and comfortable. The owner is very friendly and kind. The stuff is ready to help in any moment

It's been a year or so, between the time I write this review and I visited the place. They had parking in the back for a couple of vehicles. Very friendly landlord and his wife. They had a vast menu for breakfast

We stayed at one of the beachside bungalows for 4 nights, and we absolutely loved it! Just waking up every day to going out to the sea and swimming with the sea turtles that are literally outside the bungalow

A lovely stay at this pretty and peaceful hotel. The staff were so friendly and kind and we enjoyed relaxing in the garden with the pool and visiting the turtles at the beach most mornings. Highly recommend

The beach in front of the resort is very nice, forming a natural swimming pool where you can swim with the local sea turtles. It is a place worth staying at while in the Unawatuna area

We then decided to stay for the rest of the day. For a decent price you get a sunbed, towels, access to the pool and sanitary facilities. Food and drinks were excellent and the atmosphere was calm

We came across the hotel on our walk towards turtle beach. Chanakana welcomed us and took excellent care - preparing a table right upfront the beach where we spent some time drinking coffee and watching the turtles

They were genuinely motivated to make sure you enjoyed your stay. Located 20 mins from Galle and next door to Turtle Beach, the resort is well located but in a quiet area

Although it was off season with a rough sea at times the area has a natural sea pool which is safe and can swim with wild sea turtles

I’ve had a wonderful 4 day stay at the Sayura. The beach and ocean view from my bedroom was fantastic and the position right on the beach front was perfect. The included breakfast was plentiful and delicious

The location right on the beach was perfect - a few steps around the bay to protected swimming behind the reef with turtles nudging you for a sea lettuce treat. Nearer the reef there were lots of fish, big and small

The semi indoor pool was clean and well maintained with change rooms in the hotel foyer. Best to have your own beach towels, as was the case almost all over the island

There are just 2 things good about this hotel rest all is very very poor. The good things is very spacious room and direct view of the beach from each and every room

The lift wasn't working when we were there - we were notified of this before our arrival - but staff quickly whisked our bags up the stairs - and disappeared without hanging about for a tip

in unawatuna there is not possible to change dollars/ euros so you might like that. also you can jump to bus and go visit Galle (30 min/ 40 rupii) and change money there. Galle fort is also a Must visit same time you go

Drinks on the beach and lunch. Great venue. Food and service were prompt and no cover charge. Unawatuna beach has been developed since we are last here 20 years ago but the beach remains a star.

Located on the main road and walkable to Unawatuna beach. When I checked in I was shown to my delux double with sea view. First question I always ask does the tv work

The location of the hotel means you have spectacular views of the sea (we were lucky enough to be able to see the turtles from our balcony) You sleep in a clean & comfortable room listening to the sounds of the crashing waves

Nice and quiet place with a small private beach. Rooms are clean though a bit outdated and need maintenance. Our bathroom had a few issues which the owner fixed promptly. Other than that, it was comfortable stay

It’s conveniently close to the city, restaurants, and, most importantly, the sea. Every morning, we could watch the turtles from the balcony. We can only say good things about this place!

Visited my favorite beach hangout in Unawatuna yesterday after 3 years. Visited the Full Moon resort on the Unwatuna beach with my friends to experience the beautiful beach, excellent seafood, fresh from the ocean

Low cost. Less parking space. Good sea foods. Beautiful beach. Ordinary cheap rooms. AC available. Not much comfortable. Sea bath. Coral view. Boat ride. Crew is good.

One one best places in Unawatuna beach. Shower works. You can stay here all day long. Go swimming and come back to the table. Thank you very much!
