We enjoyed the pool, the beach, the good food, and especially how the team made Christmas Eve extra special—it felt more like a celebration with friends than a hotel event

The hotel exceeded our expectations in every way. The pool is much larger than in other hotels, and the pier was simply unique. From there, you have direct access to the sea and a breathtaking view of the Indian Ocean

Spent 5 relaxing days at Spice Island over the Christmas holiday. The rooms are spacious and the beds are comfortable. There are a lot of lounging spaces around the pool and facing the beach

We noticed the other resorts had fliers advertising their dinners so perhaps some more organizing there for next year. Overall Spice Island provided everything we were hoping to find in a beach resort

The entire resort is very well maintained, and the lovingly designed garden invites you to relax. The staff were extremely friendly and always helpful. The food was excellent, we enjoyed every single dish

We had a beautiful room on the second floor wiht a spacious balcony and a wonderful view of the beach and the ocean. The rooms was nice and very clean. We can just recommend this place! Nothign to critizice at all

Albatross Ocean View is a wonderful small hotel. The whole staff is very friendly. Food, rooms and service are also excellent. Very familiar atmosphere. The staff also offers support in planning trips in Sansibar!

Long walks on the white sandy beach, thousands of coconut, clear waters and the spirit of Africa everywhere. We truly loved this place and is highly recommended. All our love Hakuna Matata George and Amalia

They also made us a beautiful, romantic set-up at the beach (it was such a beautiful surprise) at the beach. The manager was so friendly too

The hotel was very beautiful with great views of the ocean. The staff was very accomadating. With low tides in the mornings we were able to walk along the beach. This a secluded beach best for couples

It was simple but elegant - and the entertainment was a fantastic extra - we enjoyed live acoustic music, a fire show on the beach and on our last night a drumming show with dancing on the sand

Breakfast was great, fresh, happy hour pizza, beer, cocktails were a good deal. The pool and the rooms were regularly cleaned, and the whole property was maintained very well

We have stayed 5 days first, than we came back for additional 4 days, as this place offered the best comfort during our 20 days stay in Zanzibar

The most important for us was, that the staff was always smiling, and was always willing to do the extra mile

The location of the hotel is picturesque. The hotel is great for those who look for peaceful and quiet vacation. WITH 11 rooms and full service, it almost felt like a private resort

The front desk staff was out of this world, he explained to us how to go about town and even gave us advice on how to interact with the locals. The breakfast was exquisite 😋 the rooms are very spacious.

- The staff is very kind, especially the gentleman who waited for us until 4 am for the check-in, the structure is available all 24 hours - The rooms reflect 100% what I paid for, nothing more, nothing less, being modest the price you cannot expect an extra luxury resort, but the room, despite being humble and with old finishes, was tidy, clean (daily cleaning) and the king size bed very comfortable...

After all, the hotel is not bad at all and is consistent with the price. I don't know how the chores of those who have been scammed went, but I had no problems booking with booking

- Retro is managed by the same owner as Hiliki House, and they share the reception and breakfast room, but Retro's rooms are in the building next door

At first I was afraid it was a scam, given the other reviews, but in fact it was not and I want to give information to skeptical readers

Requested and got the best room. seafront with the sound of the sea plus the colours of the water made this a very memorable stay. Great pool to be a lounge lizard if desired. Beautiful surroundings and quiet atmosphere

Sitting in the pool while enjoying the endless ocean view it truly felt like an infinity escape. Waking up to the sound of the waves and that uninterrupted view of the sea was so peaceful and refreshing

This stay was honestly something out of a dream. Having a room that overlooks the beach was already incredible, but the private mini pool took the whole experience to another level

This hotel is right on the beach and had an excellent restaurant. The management was extremely kind and went to the pharmacy for us to pick up some medication for sea sickness. This hotel could use some refreshing

The staff was phenomenal and extremely accommodating. If you’re looking for a large sandy beach just steps away from your hotel this may not be your place

It’s the kind of place where you can completely switch off and just soak in the beauty around you. Everything about the stay felt luxurious yet so calming

The breakfast is served directly to your table and comes out in courses. That wasn't ideal for the kids and so we requested them to serve the toast and eggs at the beginning and they were very nice about it

Had an amazing stay at Hekaya for 3 nights. The rooms, property, service, staff were amazing. The view from the room was the big reason to book this stay, and I was not disappointed at all

The people running this property are so helpful and always are there with a smile, makes your stay memorable. The best thing of stying here was going for my morning walk on the beach early morning during the sunrise

Pool Man 😂 — and especially for supplying us with hundreds of papayas after the sea urchin accident 😂. Please stay just the way you are — you are an amazing team

A Truly Unforgettable Stay at Zanbluu We stayed at Zanbluu Hotel for one week, and it was absolutely incredible! The food was outstanding, and our front-row bungalow with a private pool right on the beach was pure paradise

Amazing place with incredible service and hospitality. Private suites with small private swimming pool directly at sea front. Incredibly nice staff which help you with all your needs and trips

There is also a large infinity pool for guests to use if you do not want to upgrade to private settings. Our visit included the full all-inclusive package, which was an added cost, but was well worth it

We have a partial ocean view which features a small dip pool/tub, private chairs for sunbathing as well as chairs on the small patio. By all means, upgrade to the partial ocean view - it’s worth it

The views are picturesque, especially around the pool area, and the overall ambiance is perfect for relaxation

What truly made the experience unforgettable was the staff—they were so friendly and welcoming, and they treated my 4-year-old son with such care and kindness. We felt at home from the very first moment

If you do not need laundry facilities or if you don't mind to pay extra, go for the hotel itself. Great location on the seaside. Breakfast almost on the beach and a good size swimming pool

Beautiful beach hotel which is well worth the money. Majority of guests are couples of all ages. Be prepared to be charged for WiFi, snorkeling, fishing, etc.

But the best thing was the staff, they was all amazing and helpful. They were always happy and spoke great english. Especially the waitress called Jasmine was amazing. Would recommend everyone to visit

The beach was never affected with the tide whereas other hotels nearby, their beach disappeared with the tide and not many other places had beach lounge chairs to use

when ordering fish ask for medium rare it seems to be over cooked wherever you go. Seaview cottages were lovely with a much welcomed breeze. Only one small mirror in bathroom and one plug behind bed

We stayed here for 5 nights and it was the best place to stay! Our room was nice, a bit out dated but it had everything we needed and it was clean

Starting from Reception and personally Sarah, who was super welcome and always helpful! Continue with our room ( we booked sea view, villa 3) and housekeeping daily perfect job! Amazing breakfast ( thank you chef for the best owlet ever and all guys for your caring and smiling faces)

The sun beds on the beach (most of the hotels don’t have such luxury), security (not that it’s dangerous there, but the guys selling excursions and souvenirs are just too many and it becomes annoying; - security of our hotel kept everyone away from the hotel guests), the beach is super clean (and so are the rooms, restaurant and all the facilities)

The sunsets here at the beach bar were incredible, and amazing cocktails! The staff in the bar were so friendly and fun! The food at Mahali was amazing, I loved all of the food at the beach bar for lunch, and the breakfast was lovely and it was a beautiful setting

The hotel is on the beach and we thought Paje was a lovely area with nice shops and a lovely food court close by. We ate at Zhulu which is the sister hotel to Mahali for two meals at night and the food was incredible

We even got to see a whole monkey family in the trees at the resort which we loved! During our stay in Zanzibar we stayed in Stonetown, Nungwi and Paje, and Paje was by far the most amazing beach I have ever been to

It is right by the beach so it was great to walk out from the room directly to the sea. The place is clean and the breakfast was nice. Very serene place - highly recommend it to anyone going to zanzibar

Nice place to stay due to possibility to walk around the beach and enjoy beautiful sunshines. Within few minutes walking on the beach Kiwengwa is plenty of restaurants, bars, kitesurfing spots and schools

Simba Beach is an amazing place, very clean and right by the beach. We loved hearing the waves all throughout the night and in the morning we'd wake up to a beautiful sunrise

We spent three lovely days at Simba Beach lodge. The hosts were so lovely and they have two adorable daughters who were the sweetest ever

Great value for money! The rooms are comfortable and the place is nice. Only downside is the beach (not so nice) and not right next to the hotel as it might look like in pictures ( 5 minutes walk)

We only went to eat in the restaurant and it was fantastic! In addition to the very nice place, we ate very well! 2 giant lobsters with chips and vegetables at a more than fair price! Furthermore, the staff was very kind and welcomed us, making us feel at home surrounded by friends!

Paje by Night is a very nice place indeed, close to the beachside. The staff gives their best, to make this feeling home, away from home. However, WiFi is unreliable to say the least

The place is unsuitable for (even occasional) remote working, if you need connectivity

! The beach is only a couple of minutes away, but there is also a very nice pool to relax by…! The food served is of very good quality, but above all very tasty! Most importantly, all the staff is beyond fantastic! From the cleaners, the waiters to the reception staff and the owners, everyone has been an absolute star to make sure our stay was great! Thank you for everything! We will be back!

The location is great, second to the beach and nice and quiet when you need it, beautiful designed with palm trees for shadow and a big pool kept cool where the kids can play. The staff is so nice and the food good too

Don’t expect high luxury, but a calm, clean experience in beautiful garden surroundings. Only 2 minutes from the beach. Literally on the beach (you don’t have a view of the sea), but more calm

Wonderful weeklong stay at Indigo Beach! The staff were absolutely fantastic, from how friendly they were to our toddler, to helping organize tours and a massage, to helping us figure out a doctor to take our daughter to when she got sick on our last day

Little slice of paradise! The tide has a ton of variance so sometimes swimming in the ocean is tough at times. The pool is small and refreshing. Located in a quiet corner next to the village it is very tranquil

The food was overall good - we did bed & breakfast but, in the future, would not do breakfast as there are many places to explore in Paje, nearby, and the options were the same every day - fruit, bread of your choice (toast, crepe like pancakes, or banana bread or muffin), eggs of your choice, bacon (more like Canadian bacon), sausage, or an English breakfast

The lunch menu had quite a bit of options - we had grilled fish, grilled octopus, and fish nuggets, which were all good. The dinner menu was smaller options, so we generally preferred to go explore other restaurants

We paid a little extra and had a nicer room, in the back of the resort, which has access to its own pool and is a bit quieter than the rooms on the beach which are next to the restaurant and the resort next door

Beautiful place, good food, nice staff, have privet beach ❤️ For walk in sea and see nice staf inside we pay 30€ ( its to much) after walk we get info 10 € its normal price 🤪 but i recomend do it with some guys who can tell and show everything, its amazing ❤️ In hotel we get better price then booking give us (35€/for night) ⭐

Our room was up-to-date, had everything we needed, the beds had mosquito nets, and the bathroom was good. The nearby small pool, was a very nice place to hang out. Its the beach here that is really the winner

Very nice hotel, everything is super clean, very safe, has a private beach, so you are safe from all the local sellers.

The bungalows are beautiful and very well kept, less than a minute walk to a white sandy beach that has clear blue shallow water perfect for swimming

This is a very nice restaurant (do know that if you feel like a change--there are other restaurants nearby, including very inexpensive local fish places where the seafood comes direct from the ocean)

I had the absolute pleasure of staying at The Seconda Stella for 3 nights, and I’m completely in love with this place

We stayed here at the end of april and we had the beach for ourselves! If you love nature and being in contact with it this is the place for you! If you have a problem with the windows not having glass, and hearing the rain or the bushbabys, then stay at home 😅

Surrounding beach is quiet, stunning and empty. In the evenings you get to feed the bush babies, in the mornings you just enjoy your coffee listening to the sound of the nature around you

Waking up each day to the sound of the ocean, walking to the breakfast barefoot, just enjoying the view of the beautiful palm trees garden around you. Very authentic and very peaceful, beautiful place

Santa Maria is simply the best and for us the fact that it is for a Tanzanian owner is amazing because we don’t want to go to Tanzania just to go to an Italian hotel or restaurant

On the beach left of the hotel is a very good restaurant directly on the sea, and they have great octopus salad and seafood, and prices are half of that in the hotel

Our stay at Jafferji Beach Retreat was absolutely exceptional from beginning to end. Munis, the manager, truly made all the difference. He was outstanding, always helpful, incredibly kind, and full of great advice

The location is at Matenwe in Zanzibar. A bit difficult to get ro but an absolute treasure. It's a retreat place but more like a resort. Directly opposite the beach, great pool, fine location and overall great staff
