Centre Point Hotel in Patong

I recently stayed at this hotel and was thoroughly disappointed. Despite the room being on the fifth floor, the view was absolutely terrible and not at all as described. The hotel was overpriced for what was offered, and there was no lift, making things inconvenient. The communal balcony was cluttered with rubbish and broken equipment, and the entire place felt dated. While there were some toiletries like toilet paper, the overall cleanliness could have been improved. Additionally, the toilet lacked a proper window, so street noise easily came through the bathroom.
At one point, the water completely stopped, leaving us without any water. When we approached the front desk, the receptionist was constantly laughing, which, although understandable given the circumstances, felt unprofessional. He did, however, help us lug our heavy suitcases up to the fifth floor, which was no small task, and we felt sorry for him. His laughter seemed more like a nervous or sarcastic reaction to the situation, reflecting the hotel’s ongoing issues.
To top it off, the hotel was falsely advertised, with photos that appeared most likely AI-generated and obviously altered. Given all these issues, I believe the hotel should honestly refund our money.
Furthermore, there was a significant lack of fire safety. While there were some fire extinguishers present, there were no expiry dates visible, so it was unclear how old they were. Additionally, the fire escapes were almost nonexistent, with only an old-fashioned ladder hanging off the building that seemed poorly secured and potentially dangerous. This lack of modern fire safety regulations made the place feel unsafe and, frankly, dangerous.
In conclusion, the place is dangerous and should be condemned until it undergoes proper renovation.
Overall, I wouldn't recommend staying here.
