The Expat Hotel in Patong

Everything is great about this little hotel 4 minutes walk to 3 Malls and Bangla Road. Clean pool, comfy beds and a fully stocked mini bar. Food is good and inexpensive, beers are reasonable, even a bottle of wine pretty much price matches the supermarkets. Very obliging staff, overnight guests are welcome... if you know what I mean! I have stayed twice, both times out of season, patrons at these times were mainly mature single men. I would recommend to mature adults, but would not consider it child friendly, Lovely staff. Thank you to all the Expat team.

I was here in 2018 and the stay was so good I am coming back November 2025.
The staff are amazing people and I am looking forward to seeing them again. The room was great and loved the pool. The hotel is located in a really great place making it easy to walk everywhere.

This place is perfect if you want to stay close to Bangla Rd & Patong Beach. Its hidden away enough from all the crazy madness. The pool is clean, thai spa is good, restaurant is good and staff are lovely. Rooms could do with a little renovation and softer beds however they are very clean. I'd highly recommend this hotel.

I've had the pleasure of staying at the Expat Hotel twice now, and each time I check out, I feel a bit of sadness. It’s hard to say goodbye to the incredible staff and the welcoming atmosphere that makes this place so special. The first visit was only a couple days, but yet returning a year later, the bartender remembered me and gave me a warm greeting.

During the last few days of my trip, I found myself hardly wanting to leave—especially for someone like me who typically enjoys the nightlife on Bangla Road. Speaking of which, the hotel is just minutes away from one of the biggest party scenes in the world, yet it’s tucked away on a quiet street, offering a perfect balance.

The hotel is filled with natural light, creating a bright and inviting ambiance. Unlike other hotels that are often overshadowed by larger buildings, the Expat Hotel stands out with its vibrant energy. Moving from my room to the pool to the bar is effortless, making it a truly enjoyable experience. Even though I’ve stayed at fancier hotels, I’ve never felt more at home than I do here. It’s just an amazing place!

A special perl in Patong beach. I feel like at home, i come back next time in Patong. Also if there are a rainin day you can enjoy the restaurant the pool bar and the top class massage

Great place, friendly employees and well managed. Centrally located but noiseless.
Price is good and every service is excellent.

Fantastic location and great staff. Massage available near pool, sports bar at front and quieter bar and food served behind on the pool side. Looking forward to coming back. Rooms comfortable, very nice bed!

We had a nice stay on this place. We moved to a different hotel now in a different location and we sorely miss this one.
Pros.
*It's walking distance to the famous bagla road where crazy and fun things are happening
*Despite it being close to Bangla road it feels peaceful and tranquil there.
*They have a nice pool area
*The staff are very accommodating and helpful
* It's affordable
*They have a bar and restaurant
* Free breakfast
* The rooms were clean and I didn't get bug bites, several times it happened to me and to this hotel I sleep peacefully
