It was so conveniently located to many restaurants as well as being close to the subway. Even though the area around the hotel is very popular, our room was really quiet. The staff were all very friendly and helpful

I was so impressed with how organized and clean everything was in my room. Small but well kept. It's only about 30 minutes on foot to Marienplatz and all the touristy things that make Munich so much fun.

The hotel is at good location - near S-bahn, supermarket, and some coffee shops. May feel the vicinity quiet at first but feel safe when you walk via the cultural centre nearby

As an added tip, if you want something warm to eat like an omelet, you can order that from the server and the cook will whip one up for you! Would it have been more convenient to stay by Marienplatz? Yes! BUT, we enjoyed being able to come back to a quiet area and away from the hustle and bustle of the Christmas markets

We stayed at JAMS from December 5-10. From checkin to checkout, the experience was fantastic! Knowledgeable front desk staff helped us navigate Munich in the most efficient way to optimize our time

The room is spacious and clean with comfortable bedding. Staff is very welcoming :) I learnt that there is no air conditioning in the room but as I travelled in winter, it is not a concern for me

The room itself was very clean and offered the unusual king sized bed configuration. The hotel is tucked away in a quiet area but still very accessible to the subway station (5 minute walk)

We were able to access Marienplatz in a ten minute subway ride. The breakfast bar was as you’d expect at a European continental breakfast - meats, cheeses and breads galore

The common space was large and had a microwave and kettle. I also appreciated the welcome drink available at the attached bar.

I didn't have a meal due to time constraints, but the welcome beer and the bar facilities were great. There was also a kettle, so I was able to prepare instant meals.

highly recommend this hostel! we only stayed 1 night but it was absolutely perfect- we arrived early in the morning and the staff allowed us to drop our bags into luggage storage so we didn’t have to take them with us, as well as allowing us access to the commons areas (bar and sitting area) and toilets

bunk beds were spacious and comfy with storage below that you could padlock. shoes were were simple but effective and all we needed. the bar was cheap and there’s a lidl at the end of the road for cheap food

the staff weee wonderful and provided many great recommendations on a map we took with us, filling us in with all the necessary info we needed. we stayed in a 12 bed all female room and felt completely safe

Room was spacious and clean. Hotel is only steps away from Marienplatz and S-Subway station. All the staff was friendly and helpful. Will definitely book again.

It's also only a 5 minute walk to the Marienplatz and Sbahn and Ubahn stations. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again

Was right in the center of the market and easy to get to public transportation. Room was clean and bed was comfortable. Bathroom was nicely updated and well stocked.

A perfectly charming space and the front desk clerk went out of his way to give us a room with a third bed (we booked two single beds) because there was a third friend spending the afternoon with us before catching a train out of the city

The location is very central, but the area didn't feel safe to us. The hotel has poor ventilation. Cooking odors don't escape the room despite ventilation; even the hallways smell of food

Location was prime! There is an "honor bar" with food & beverages on the 5th floor we enjoyed discovering. The only minor drawback was no AC, yet we found the staff to be so accommodating and they provided multiple fans

The front desk staff was friendly and very helpful. There was even a store on the floor where you could buy some drinks or groceries and leave a note with what you took to be billed later

We were pleasantly surprised by the spacious lounge area and separate bedroom and bathroom. Our room also had a decent balcony area leading from both the lounge area and the bedroom

Well provisioned kitchen area all spotlessly clean. Sadly it was a shame we were only there for one night. Most importantly it was a very comfy bed

It was very clean and comfortable for a group of five. The reception was also very kind and we were very satisfied. However, the surrounding area is an Islamic town, which was a bit scary for tourists

There is no aircon in the room which is not an issue for us as it was cooling in Apr 2026 but something to take note if u are coming in summer. Plus point is the staff are very welcoming and always ready to assist

And on our last day, we spotted a tiny roach along the walls (not sure if it came in from outside), but we had no issues with the bed

Hotel was nice but the location of the hotel was too bad . It was close to center and also train station but the neighbour feels very unsafe.

Room was spacious and clean, love the interior. There’s no receptionist, we do self check in to entered the hotels, there’s a telephone to contact the hotel. So far good

It was much quieter than the place I stayed at previously, which was right opposite the central station, which I appreciated. My room faced a school, and a bell rang at 7:45 AM

Highly recommended — clean, great value for money, and in an excellent location, only 4–5 minutes’ walk from Marienplatz. A perfect spot for exploring Munich on foot, with everything close by

Parking garage across the street was very convenient once we figured out to pay in the gas station! For a front desk-less hotel, was pleasantly surprised by the service and communication via WhatsApp before/during/after our stay!

Our room was very clean and well-prepared. Our only problem with the room was that we couldn't get the air-conditioning to work, and neither could the reception staff. However they provided us with a fan

The people who work here make you very comfortable even if not a great German speaker. Location is excellent and is near to major touron zone without being smack in middle

I got the best service and experience. It is very affordable price and near to Munich train Station. The staff has extra waited for me till 1:30 to check In. Nevertheless the check in time was till 23:30

There was no noise from neighbors or elsewhere; the room itself was well soundproofed, and its amenities were more than sufficient. I highly recommend this hotel if you’re visiting Munich

Location wise its excellent as it is just a few minutes walk to Munich main train station. Room is okay quite spacious and daily cleaning was available. Electric kettle also provided in the room

Initially I had trouble entering the hotel as it is self check in using code and there was error a few times trying to get in but good thing the customer service was quick to respond

The stay was pleasant it is in strategic location right near to the main station, walkable and easy excess to U-bahn, S—bahn. There are plenty of eating places around the hotel

Clean room. Very accommodating on luggage storage. Wash cloths should be offered to those who want them. Hotel should notify guest to ask for a room with air conditioning if they want it.

Good hotel, located in a strategic point if you are moving by public transport, a few tens of meters from the subway entrance and a tram stop, even by walk you can reach the center in 15/20 minutes

Stayed here for a conference/vacation in Munich. Check in was easy and they stored our luggage for us when we were too early to check in. Our room was comfortable and stayed cool with just the fan (no ac)

As others mentioned there is no elevator, but this wasn’t a problem for us. We loved the proximity to tram and underground stations, as well as being across from the English garden

The hotel was in the perfect location as Sendlinger Tor has access to almost all transport routes & if not, is only a few stops away from central station. The area has tons of restaurants and cafes plus tons of shopping

We had a good time at Hotel Altmunchen! The hotel was located in a great area of the city, right near Sendlinger-Tor-Platz which was less than a minute walk away and perfect for morning coffees and baked goods

It was a warm experience staying at Hotel Altmunchen. The hotel has a great location, very close to the old town but still quiet and restful. The staffs are professional and friendly

The hotel also provides disposable slippers and bottled water, which is not very common in many hotels in Germany. Breakfast is included in the price — with a croissant and coffee of your choice, which is amazing

The room could be a bit cleaner, as I noticed several hairs that might have been left by the previous guest, and the area was a bit noisy

The soundproofing was a bit poor. I could hear sirens outside, and the early morning construction kept me awake. The yogurt, eggs, and warm tea served for breakfast were nice

We booked a family apartment, which is nearly 50 square meters. It is very spacious, bright and comfortable. All items are neatly arranged and well thought out

The location was nice, but way too loud from street noise. Normally I am fine with outside noise, but people were screaming at each other as if someone had died. Eventually shutting all the windows fixed this issue

I am just glad the room was cool enough to do this. The refrigerator in the room was a nice feature, BUT is not keep anything cool, so we had to through out our food. Lastly the wi-fi was the worst ever

Recently stayed with a family of 4. We booked the family room that provided an extra bedroom. Stay was fantastic, check in was easy at the hotel reception just around the corner

Parking is available not far from the hotel for €17 per day — quite reasonable compared to other hotels in the area that charge up to €35. The rooms are spotlessly clean and well maintained

They even send you a link that allows you to unlock both the main entrance and your room door directly from your phone, with no registration required — a very modern and convenient feature

There are a number of clubs along the street and in the evenings and throughout early hours of the morning this was a lot. My room was facing the street so this may not be an issue for other rooms
