Pros - big rooms, great breakfast with a lot of variety and fresh fruit options. Cons - outdated furnishings and amenities, difficult to charge electronics due to outlets and switch placement. Bed was very hard, room somewhat chilly with light bedding and lumpy pillows.
Should be 5 star stunning hotel!!
What a wonderful place to stay; close to the Düsseldorf airport and yet so close to an historical beautiful small town with good restaurants, a bookshop, and the Rhine nearby.
Nice hôtel, sympathic person. The room was confortable but the bed was not from good quality !
Stayed as part of a trip to the Euros. The hotel was a €18 fare from Dusseldorf Airport, and arrival at hotel was easy and straightforward. I was in a single room that was clean, quiet, nice bathroom…….everything needed for a comfortable stay. Breakfast service was plentiful with a good choice of hot and cold foods. Transport to the centre of Dusseldorf via train was €3.40 with the station approx ...
Really lovely building. Very friendly and helpful reception staff. Nice modern rooms. Good breakfast. The only slight downside is the rooms/corridors aren’t very sound proofed so it was quite noisy at points.

Rhythmic gymnastics team arrived for a competition on Friday. We occupy the hotel for two nights. There are 14 of us and they offer us 2 rooms in the hotel and 5 rooms on the ground floor (motel type). Good breakfast at 13 euros per person, both sweet and savory with renewal of products as soon as they run out.
It was a nice hotel, inexpensive, and easily accessible to the city. It was clean, too, and the bed was incredibly comfortable!
Everything was uncomplicated. Clean, friendly staff. Highly recommended.
A rooster crows in the morning - I immediately felt like I was at home in the country 😀
The area around the hotel is very beautiful, we were really thankful for visiting that side of the city due to our stay in the hotel. The hotel was also nice and clean and beds were comfy. I would definitely choose it again!
4×4 stars and 1×3 stars: I would stay there again.

I had requested a quiet room upon check-in and asked if I could extend my stay by one day. Upon entering the room, there was a considerable amount of noise coming from outside due to construction going on across the street. I wanted to cancel the extension, but the hotel management refused. It was outside noise, and they couldn't do anything about it. They said a room at the front would also generate...
What a pleasure it was to stay at this hotel. I was a bit skeptical at first , as I lived in Düsseldorf for a long time and used to know the original old Breidenbacher Hof very well. But I was impressed and happy , the minute we walked in . This hotel is run with precision , care and professional hospitality attitude ! While the city center of Düsseldorf , especially the Alt Stadt, is clearly suffering...
This hotel is an absolute gem! I stayed here during my trip to Düsseldorf, and I couldn’t be happier with my choice. The service was exceptional. The staff went above and beyond to ensure that we had a fantastic stay. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to Düsseldorf.
It's very hard these days to find a high quality hotel that also feels special. Most 5 star hotels today are owned by a few holding companies and have the same modern but cheap and impersonal aesthetic. Breidenbacher, however, brings me back to the days when going to a hotel felt special, with great service, great amenities and location. Would highly recommend and would definitely go back.
Perfect The most satisfying hotel I stayed in during my trip to Europe Completely worth the price Great value for money I will stay here again next time
**A Stay Defined by Unmatched Hospitality and Exceptional Service** From the moment we stepped into the hotel, we were welcomed with warm smiles and a level of attentiveness that set the tone for an extraordinary stay. This hotel is at perfect location. Very clean and loyal staffs.
Great location. Friendly and helpful staff. Easy to access from the airport.
Fantastic hotel. Staff are so kind. Room cleaned daily and were spotless. Great location for shopping. We were there for Christmas Markets. Perfect!!! We will go back.
very old 4 star hotel, sound isolation is a joke.i cant even find the do not disturb sign in the room! but a single bed room i booked in the same day i arrived costs only around 34euro/night. great location by the way.
Possibly to have Continental/Japanese/German/ breakfast. Especially JP breakfast is offer Miso soup, Natto, Shimesaba and rice every morning. Free WIFI is not belong to hotel. Need to select " telecom " then, click start by own devices. Then, the hotel located near by typical Japanese district " Immerman Strasse ". You can find so many JP cuisine. ( Ramen, Tempura, Soba, washoku )
Good location, nice rooms, professional staff. A bit pricey for the non-A/c rooms and breakfast though.

Friendly staffs and quiet location
I chose their Techno room type. The room wasn't big, but it was perfectly adequate for one person. The room was very clean, but the soundproofing was a bit poor; I could hear people chatting in the hallway. The location is a bit far from the city center, but the station is right downstairs, and you can take the 707 train directly to the train station and Japan Street, so it's still quite convenient
The staff was very friendly, the breakfast fine and the room looked fine. However therewas a constant havy smell of food beeing cooked in my room. Maybe from the kitchen bellow + the train right outside my window was VERY loud (whining brakes)
When doors and corridors rennovation is completed, hotell is awesome.
The place was nice, it had a mini bar. Loved the window. Only down side no A/C.
A comfortable and cozy small hotel in a very convenient location next to a streetcar stop. It is about 15 minutes by bus from the airport and also about fifteen minutes directly on the streetcar to the downtown so it is easy to get anywhere. There are several restaurants and a small market across the street and several supermarkets and many more restaurants and shops in walking distance. The staff...

Breakfast was just okay, the location was decent, and the room was quite spacious.
It was so good, the staff is friendly
The hotel offers everything you need. It's about a 20-minute journey to the city center, and the hotel is well-connected. The breakfast could be improved. The bathroom was adequately clean, and ultimately, we were satisfied.
The facilities are a bit old, and it's about a kilometer from the subway station. The room itself is quite spacious, and while the breakfast selection isn't huge, it tastes decent. The room key is an old-fashioned, large brass key. 🔑
The hotel was great. And breakfast was very good. Staff were helpful and friendly. Would recommend hotel anytime
This hotel offers great value for money, it's very affordable with free parking. It's an older apartment, so no breakfast or room service. Overall, I'm satisfied. It has a balcony with a view of the German countryside. Supermarkets and gas stations are all a short drive away.

It was very close to the venue for the concert I was there for.
Positive: - Price is okay - Overall cleanliness is okay - Bathroom appears clean, shower head has good pressure - Hassle-free self-check-in with code box - Parking is available in front of the door (€10/night) - Seating + table and ashtray outside - Only a 30-minute walk to the Merkur Arena Negative: - Small room (3-bed room) - VERY noisy between 5/6 a.m. and 11 p.m. as it's located in a flight...
The accommodation was good. Darker curtains to better darken the room would have been helpful, especially since the hotel sign, illuminated at night, is outside the window.
5 stars because for the price I got what I wanted (shower was clean with great temperature and solid water pressure, bed was clean), which, again, was all I was concerned with You can nitpick issues with the rooms if you really want to, but you're not looking at renting a room here because you want the best of the best, right? You just want something cheaper that you can stay in for a night or two...
Booked for just one night before departure! Taxi to the airport costs between 13-15 euros! Room was adequate, comfortable beds. Thanks for the coffee at 2:30 a.m.! Barely audible aircraft noise! Taxi was ordered on time!

The hotel has a great location, the staff are very friendly, and it's quite safe to use a room key at the entrance. The price-performance ratio is good. I've stayed here twice already. Recommended.
The reception speed needs to be improved
Hotel isn’t actually very near to main station, but it’s not far from shopping district.
You can reach the main train station in 10 minutes on foot. The room was large and new. We didn't have breakfast but there were many different options to drink and eat. Next time we would like to stay again.

Small hotel, but clean and cozy. There's a supermarket right across the street, which is convenient. The front desk staff was great; every time I came out, they'd help me call a taxi.
It’s a nice hotel though quite basic. Rooms are correctly sized, silent and spotless clean. I would just like to have the possibility to make them darker at night in order not to be waken up at 5h00 by light this time of the year. Staff is nice and friendly and breakfast is nice and tasty. Only 10 minutes taxi away from the exhibition ground. Thi sis definitely a PLUS!
Absolutely amazing Hotel, amazing staff, great breakfast, really clean rooms and warm warm service. I really felt like they were there for us with their genuine smile. If im coming back to Dusseldorf, I would come back to this hotel. Thank you for the great service
It's fine for a couple of nights, but the pillows are very uncomfortable and the mattress leaves a lot to be desired. It's fine, but nothing more.

Beautiful little hotel on the Rhine. Rooms were spacious and well laid out, very roomy, and everything we needed for our stay. Didn't eat there but the food looked amazing. Very nice view of the Rhine as well.
A delightful location to enjoy the river. I cannot comment on the rooms, as I didn’t stay in the hotel. The events room was beautiful. Overlooking the river. The tables were laid with tablecloths, candles etc. The service was attentive, friendly and respectful. I asked for a change of main course, from meat to fish. No problem whatsoever. A truly delicious meal with excellent service.
We had a nice dinner in the restaurant. The staff was very friendly, accommodating all wishes. The atmosphere was cozy, with nice view of the river Rhine. We enjoyed the food a lot. Good parking opportunities directly in front of the building. Restaurant is also very close to the Fairgrounds.
I’ve stayed numerous times at Hotel Schnellenburg when I come for the MEDICA conference in November. The rooms are fairly standard European style rooms. A nice perk is that the minibar drinks (nonalcoholic alcohol) are included with your stay and you get a mini package of gummy bears on your bed when you check in. I stayed only once at Hotel Maxim Düsseldorf City for just 3 nights, but everything was very good. The single rooms are quite small but sufficient for one person. The breakfast was very good and ample. The staff at the reception and kitchen were very friendly and helpful with anything you need.
I would say that it is really good balance between price and quality! The room was with basic equipment but it was clean and in good condition. The breakfast was nice with all necessary food which you would expect for a morning time. I would not say that this hotel is suitable for a family with little children but I had a nice stay with my wife and 2 years old daughter. I recommend it for a budget...
While the area is quite nice the hotel did not really meet my expectations (at least the ones created by the pictures I saw before my arrival). The room was clean but very small, the WiFi did not work at all and the breakfast was just OK. On the flip side it had nice views to the park place in front of the hotel.
Room could have been bigger. I was given a twin bed. I don't know why this couldn't have been a double bed. Would have been more economic for the space. Receptionists were very pleasant, knew good English were helpful when I needed my luggage stored. It's a pity walls weren't very sound proofed. I found I was often disturbed by loud music apart from at night. Free Wi-Fi was fast enough to play Netflix...
The hotel is a bit dated, the walls and doors are not thick so can hear the old lift and other people, a few minor issues with some of the things in the room, however all we needed was somewhere to stay. It was much cheaper than a lot of the other hotels and you get what you pay for. I have certainly stayed in worse. Terrific value for Düsseldorf, great breakfast, quiet with the windows shut
it was very dark in the elevator. impossible to read the information notes there
Wasn't that quiet at night, woke up a few times at night just while someone walks up the stairs. But the price and the location are really good.
Good locatio, nothing fancy, decent beds, cold room at first but the radiator worked well and heated it up nicely. Good, very cozy feeling breakfast.
Very nice hotel, 10 min walk frim train station and 15-20 min walk to the old town. Only thing I had a problem with was the low illumination in the hallways and the room. Had to use the flashlight on my phone to see the keyhole to open tge door.
City centre hotel, staff were very accommodating when we arrived early. Chargeable parking nearby, but none at the hotel. 100m past hotel on the same side of the road is best value parking @€14 (Sep. 24) Rooms clean and comfortable, I like a softer bed and that's exactly what I got. If you want a German beer experience, Schumacher's opposite is a must try.
