Friendly staff, great breakfast selection, beautiful views, convenient location. Would highly recommend!
Domus Reis is amazing! I loved that the property keep many architectural and artful features from the previous palace. It is in the heart of old Hania. The staff is respectful, informative and eager to please. The breakfasts were delicious. I loved the avocado toast! Free parking is available close by. I highly recommend it!
What a wonderful hotel. Staff and service excellent! Beautiful property and rooms in old Town Chania Crete. Nothing but good things to say. Especially the staff went out of there way to help with we everything!
Great location, great staff, very comfortable room and very clean. in a word -stellar
The breakfast was beyond wonderful!
So many choices each day!
Exquisite coffees, pastries,
egg dishes, etc.
Ocean view!!!
The staff was a 20 out of 10.
Highly recommend!
Second time in Chania—which I love—but first time at this hotel. Travelling with family and we stayed in the Master Suite. Hotel description and photographs are perfectly accurate so there’s no need repeating them, but the hotel nevertheless managed to exceed our expectations in every way. The owner and all members of the staff that we encountered were spectacular—extremely friendly, welcoming and...

Very nice hotel at the center of the old town of Chania. Walking distance to everywhere The staff was really nice, and the service was great with a special and tasty welcome treat! The rooms were very clean and new, while very respectful to the Cretan architecture. Definitely a value for money choice. Beware of the stairs which could be a problem if you are travelling with infants or having movement...
My family loved this hotel. Everything is 5-stars in my book. If I could give 10 stars, I would give it to the staff. One example of why I feel this was is that we had to depart at about 4:00am. They made sure we had breakfast boxes that we could take with us. They woke up early to make this happen. We were all touched by their caring service.
The hotel is one minute walking from the harbour but still in a very quiet area. The rooms are big and confortable with a nice bathroom. The cherry on the top of the cake was the staff, all very friendly. Strongly recommend this hotel. And after being there i discovered that this was an historical building throughout the years.
We've recently returned from a lovely ten-day stay in this charming hotel. The location is perfect, just two minutes from the harbour front with its bars and restaurants. The hotel is a quaint, quirky building with a long history, but has been tastefully modernised with modern facilities and excellent bathrooms. There are 10 rooms: one on the first floor, three on the second floor and six on the...
The service was fantastic from Flora and Rula, but to carry suitcases up 4 flights of many winding steps for seniors is undoubtedly, would never stay here again for that reason, the breakfast was great, the room was old, small and dark, we switched to Domus Blanc with an elevator that blew Colombo out of the water.
Fantastic Hotel Find!
The location was great. The room was very comfortable, the decor was wonderful and bathroom very nice and clean.
Flora, the evening host was very nice. She have us great recommendations for sites and restaurants. She even prepared a bag breakfast for our very early departure. Roula the day host was very helpful and friendly as well. We would highly recommend this hotel for a...

Had a lovely stay at Alcanea in the off season, it’s a great location in Chania Old Town.
Kyriaki couldn’t have been more helpful and supportive with any requests I had for things to do or organising taxis etc.
The building has a lot of character and history
We had a wonderful stay for five days in November. We felt like we were at home not in a hotel. The room was clean and spacious with a beautiful view of the lighthouse. The hotel’s location is perfect in the old town. Breakfast was delicious and the staff was super helpful. Housekeeping was excellent! We highly recommend the Alcanea and would return in a heartbeat.
Alcanea Boutique Hotel is an absolute gem in Chania! Eva was exceptional, checking in on us when our flight was delayed, providing us with detailed recommendations of restaurants and beaches then following up with us on our return. The location was incredible and the interior and exterior of the 500 year old building provided for such a unique experience. Despite it being an older historical building...
Absolutely lovely place beautifully situated at the beginning of the harbor. The rooms are very well appointed, clean and comfortable. The location is wonderful and the cafe is delightful. A special acknowledgement for Eva, the current manager, who could not have been more pleasant and supremely helpful. Every hotel should have an Eva.
We only stayed one night, but wish we could’ve stayed longer! Eva was so helpful in getting us settled in, setting up a taxi to the airport, truly amazing hospitality. It’s a beautiful building with great views of the harbour. Can’t beat the location either!
This is a charming and beautiful hotel in a perfect location to soak up the city and the waterfront. The staff were super friendly and comfortable, the rooms were designed beautifully and were comfortable and the breakfast was excellent. Thumbs up’

Very cozy and the view was powerful! My room faced the bay. The crashing of the waves set the mood. The facility was clean, excellent and in the best location. Access was easy. No front desk you just pick up your room key left for you and enjoy your stay. I love that. I had an issue getting in and the customer service was wonderful and helpful. Will definitely return!
Very small hotel close to the beach on the other side of the old town. Not too much services in the hotel. Staff is quick and responsive.
Exactly as advertised. Property was extremely clean & was a great value. Joanna and the rest of the staff were very responsive & accommodating. Easy walk to old town & only steps from the waterfront. Would recommend to anyone staying in the area.
We were in Chania last year and walked past this property. It looked so interesting, we tracked it down to book it for 2025 and were not disappointed. Waking up to the sea view was wonderful: sitting on the terrace with a cup of coffee watching the world go by was even better! The hotel was in a good location with street parking outside, but it was unclear whether it was just for residents. The self-check-in was easy and convenient, but the hallway was very fragrant. I appreciated the comfy bed and good wi-fi. However, the room designs were clearly more for aesthetics than function. Room Cyan The door was heavy, making it difficult to open. Amazing experience in this boutique hotel! We were in the Superior Suite and it was perfect for my wife and I, plus our baby! But the property aside, I can’t talk enough about how great the staff is. When we arrived, and were dropped off on the opposite side of Old Town, I called and the staff helped us come grab luggage on short notice. That kind of customer service alone saved our trip after a very...
Wonderful quirky room in great location. Initially we were in a room with main bed on a mezzanine level but stairs not good for old arthritic knees so they let us change rooms. All staff were very friendly. Breakfast, at extra cost, downstairs nice too. And perfect spot at night to sit out in front having a few drinks and people watching. Would highly recommend.
Only slight negative, and not hotel...
Spacious rooms, visibly clean, beautifully decorated exactly like the pictures on here! impressed by the atmosphere! Perfect location for vacation. Ground floor rooms are a bit noisy due to being directly on the traditional alleys behind the harbour, but it's lively and it didn't't really bother. Staff was helpful and we had a lovely stay.

Exceptional Location.
Very Comfortable Room, Nice Decoration.
Absolutely, quintessential little stay. Extremely polite, clean, and accommodating. More importantly, it is truly a VERY quiet sleeping experience...even with rooms right next to you and a party raging below your window. Loved the little pub downstairs for night caps. Make sure you go to the rooftop for coffee or just people watching at night. The gulf breeze and ambience up there is a nice respite...

The hotel is beautiful, with stunning views from the rooftop and rooms. It’s in a great location to explore the Old Town and is only a 15 minute walk to a lovely beach. The staff were friendly and the room was spotless. We loved our stay and would highly recommend to others.
Great hotel very close to the old port Great service The hotel offers a breakfast on the roof overlooking the harbour. Excellent hotel overlooking Chania Old Port
Excellent service
Lovely breakfast on the rooftop of the hotel
The hotel holds a few parking spots in front of the hotel
I would recommend this hotel
My only caution is the nightclubs directly below the hotel. The music continues until well past midnight
Brilliant stay. Great location. Spacious rooms. Friendly staff. Lovely breakfast. Spectacular views from the rooftop terrace.
Beautifully restored building in old Chania. We were warmly greeted upon arrival by Juliana, and “lucky” to get the one parking spot reserved for/by the hotel. Surprisingly, basic stuff missing: no coffee machine, no laundry, no ice, no blackout curtains, sheets far too short for the bed. Every noise from room above echoed into our room. Very good value.
Very good cleaner and very responsive owner.
Room we stayed was standard, met our needs, slightly small. Had 2 double beds on split level and hot tub with sunbeds and table area on roof. Mattress is very good.bigger rooms are available.

Cute and quaint boutique hotel. Don’t expect much, but that’s okay, you’re there for the charm, experience and location!
My particular room was perfect for 1 person, but would not be comfortable for two - which was fine since I was meeting family after Crete. If you aren’t looking for a lot of bells and whistles, this probably works.

Excellent location in the old town, you can walk everywhere and there are lots of great restaurants nearby. We had a room with a balcony overlooking the street, and with the windows closed at night it was very quiet. The bed was comfortable. Nice view on the harbor, excellent service, central but quiet, parking tricky as everywhere in the historic centre, but that's solvable in an acceptable timeframe
The Contessa hotel is perfectly located! It's 1 min from the port. Close to the buss station if switching cities. The room is cute and comfortable.
We were two women staying for just one night. We parked closeby and walked to Greco hotel and were received by Anna. The check in was easy and she walked us over to the Boutique hotel. Our key card didn't work, so we had to have her come back and fix that for us but it was easy.
Our room was stunning. TALL hand painted ceilings, tall windows, a large bed, armoir, fridge, safe, desk, and large bathroom...
The staff upgraded us to a room with a view for no extra charge (thank you!!). This was the most beautiful room we stayed in during our time in Greece. Beautifully renovated, clean, and within walking distance to the harbor. We wished we could’ve stayed longer!
Lovely room and beautiful location. Comfortable bed. Shower pressure great. Air con worked. But if you value sleep do not stay here. Very noisy building. When other guests come in the sound echoes. Doors alarming. Guests coming in and out all night. Hard floors means someone walking above sounds like an elephant. Other guests allowed cats in which screamed all night outside the room.
The staff is extremely helpful! Everything was taken care of. I had to switch rooms in middle of my stay as I extended my trip and they moved my stuff from one room to another while I was out so it was a seamless transition. Location is absolutely perfect.
Rooms are decent. Comfortable bed. Clean. Nice shower. Everything you need is there!

We loved our stay at Aurora, the host was lovely and communicated with us regularly.
The apartment itself was incredible everything is very new and very spacious. The pool is also amazing and was never busy. The only negative would be the location there's not much within walking distance but we had a car so it didn't matter for us.
Great place to stay in Chania
We enjoyed our stay in Chania. Especially mattress was so comfy that my back pain disappeared. Swimming pool was clean and well maintained. Staff were friendly. Kitchen was well equipped with decent quality kitchenware. I would definitely go there again. 👍
The property was immaculate, all brand new, wonderful fitting high quality Beds Bedding, towels etc .
Very nice place, the room looked modern and the furniture looked new (just like in the pics). Comfy beds and loads of storage. Very friendly stuff. Water in the swimming pool was freezing cold though - colder than the sea.

My wife and I stayed five nights at the Splanzia this fall. If we could give this hotel 10 stars we would. Our room was immaculate: the bed comfortable, the walk-in shower strong (just like the wi-fi), even the rooftop terrace where I spent several mornings writing. Nico and Yanis were amazing hosts. They went through all the trouble to rescue our car from being towed. I could only experience something like this in my home country ( India) . Experiencing this level of hospitality was something unforgettable. I would definitely visit Xania again and stay here.
Excellent hotel for exploring Chania. Quiet. Nice, clean rooms. Staff is very helpful. One caution is that there is no elevator, so if stairs are a problem, reach out to the staff.
One of Chania's best kept secrets. The coziness and comfort of the rooms, the private courtyard offer a sanctuary of peace & quiet in a heritage house nested in a perfect location. I had a wonderful stay at this charming hotel in the heart of Chania’s Old Town. The location couldn’t be better—steps away from the harbor, shops, and cozy restaurants, yet quiet enough to relax. The rooms are beautifully maintained. While there isn’t a 24/7 reception desk, the hotel provides a service phone service where staff are available around the clock, which worked smoothly for me. A perfect...
Great location, lots of great options. Eleni made check in easy as well as had many great suggestions. Would definitely stay again
Eleni was so accommodating and helpful! She was very welcoming. We loved our stay, the boutique was beautiful and right next to everything. We can’t wait to come back

Clean, spacious and perfect location
Loved the property although the noise into the late night hours across the street was a draw back
Excellent location with clean and tasteful rooms
We booked a room for a one night stay and enjoyed it a great deal. Checking in was super easy and convenient. The only downside in the room was the AC. It was very warm and humid in Chania and the AC even at the coldest setting wasn’t great. Otherwise great value for money! Would recommend.
Love this place. Beautifully decorated and very spacious room. Eventhough we are very close to the old harbour, bars, restaurants, etc, the room was Very quiet. Will definitely stay here again. Only problem is if you rented a car, not easy to find a parking space. This is because the area is very popular venue for dining
Beautiful room with everything you need.
Beautiful location. Room came with many amenities. Service was great, room was very clean and bed was very comfortable. Close to everything. Would definitely stay there again.
Beautiful accommodation in a lovely location with free parking nearby. We stayed on the lower level in Frida and the shared living area and front porch were lovely. The guidebook is the best we have ever seen and the recommendations were perfect. Really great value for what you get, highly recommend!
