Eric the Red Guesthouse in Reykjavik

We had a great 2 night stay here. We even got a surprise visit from the neighborhood resident orange kitty who waltzed into our room like he owned the place (he probably does)

The room was clean and comfy. Because it was raining on and off when we stayed in Reykjavik, the central location of the guesthouse allowed us to hide from the rain whenever we needed to and take a little break. Would definitely revisit again on our next trip!

Definitely one of the best 'cheap' accommodation I have stayed in whilst I was visiting Reykjavik. It's situated very close to the city center of Reykjavik, so if you stay here you can spend a day or two wondering around town just by walking around. If you are catching a bus or coach early in the morning, for a whole day trip far away, just ask the staff to make a takeaway breakfast for you. It's amazing they will pack your breakfast for you before you leave, complete with a whole bar of chocolate! So generous and thoughtful.
The breakfast is also worth staying in to eat , for at least one time, because you get to meet other guests and you don't have to fight for the food to feel satisfied unlike some other similar home stays. Though I have been to Iceland, I wouldn't mind staying at this place again.
The beds are clean, and they have free modern duvets which are not folded under your mattress, like the old style of making beds! Some accommodation still use to make their beds this old way in Reykjavik, really a right mess when you wake up!

The hosts are really cool and the room, charming. The common living room is full of books and guides plus the hosts that give super advices for visiting Iceland. Many thanks!

Best host we had in Iceland for a week and that's saying something because every host we had was nice.. The house interior was beautifull and edgy, with really good taste decoration and the rooms are very comfy

Stayed twice. Once before doing ring road trip and second when we came back.

In the start got garden room (very convenient for someone like me with knee troubles, shortcut to kitchen via stairs, router in room, fridge and heater.

Door of bathroom was due to be repaired, but was not a big problem.

When we left, asked for room on ground floor (since we were coming back). Was given, our laundry was done nicely.

Overall very kind and friendly staff.
Had no problem in removing shoes when coming in (as its also same in our culture).

Great location too. Next to church and city centre.

Great appartment. Very friendly owners who will do anyting to please you and resolve any problem.
