We were there end of September. Very nice location, very good price. The rooms look good, ambient is very homey and the owner Elza was really nice to us. We also got some useful information about Reykjavik from Roko, who works there. They also have a really sweet dog named Medo. We will definitely come again!

Amazing experience. Its is super clean, quite and placed in strict Reykjavik center. The hosts are really friendly and kind, constantly on your disposal. This place feels like home and I can highly recommend it to everyone visiting Reykjavik. ❤️

We loved our stay here in early September. We would definitely stay here again! Very comfy and home-like, and we quite fell in love with Oskar, a member of the family that this house was first built for. Located close to many things we wanted to visit and walking distance to our Golden Circle Tour pick up location. Beautiful "Moderne" architectural details can be found in the home; and it's very hospitable.

I am 50 and was traveling solo looking for hostel type accommodations and stumbled upon this gem. For me the price was right and accommodations perfect. Housekeeper and owner were very friendly and I got to play with their dog in the backyard. Highly recommend if looking for a nice friendly place to stay very close to all the action’

We stayed here on our final night in Iceland. It was a great location close to the church and walking to just about everything, even BSI bus station if you are going to or from airport. Rooms were very tidy, we had private bathroom too.

Location - perfect, in the city centre. Good parking place for car.

Clean, stylish and in the city center. I like the community style.

We had a great 2 night stay here. We even got a surprise visit from the neighborhood resident orange kitty who waltzed into our room like he owned the place (he probably does)

The room was clean and comfy. Because it was raining on and off when we stayed in Reykjavik, the central location of the guesthouse allowed us to hide from the rain whenever we needed to and take a little break. Would definitely revisit again on our next trip!

Definitely one of the best 'cheap' accommodation I have stayed in whilst I was visiting Reykjavik. It's situated very close to the city center of Reykjavik, so if you stay here you can spend a day or two wondering around town just by walking around. If you are catching a bus or coach early in the morning, for a whole day trip far away, just ask the staff to make a takeaway breakfast for you. It's amazing they will pack your breakfast for you before you leave, complete with a whole bar of chocolate! So generous and thoughtful.
The breakfast is also worth staying in to eat , for at least one time, because you get to meet other guests and you don't have to fight for the food to feel satisfied unlike some other similar home stays. Though I have been to Iceland, I wouldn't mind staying at this place again.
The beds are clean, and they have free modern duvets which are not folded under your mattress, like the old style of making beds! Some accommodation still use to make their beds this old way in Reykjavik, really a right mess when you wake up!

It’s a nice and clean place to stay in Reykjavik. Very central, at the opposite of Hallgrímskirkja. The stuff is friendly and they serve a tasty breakfast with homemade bread. And they have a cat!
Share your experiences, help others make the right choice!
Think about what you would like to know if you were looking for a review about a place to relax. Please describe in detail what you liked and what you didn't. What would you advise to other guests and to the hotel owner. The more fully you tell about the hotel, the easier it will be for other people to make a choice and they will be very grateful to you!

Their Rye bread ice-cream with cream and caramelized rhubarb syrup was amazingly delicious! Their Icelandic platters were worth trying out if you wish to sample some Icelandic specialty such as mashed fish and smoked trout.

Service was quick and cafe attendants were friendly despite the busy crowd. This cafe is definitely worth visiting ??

Food is traditional Icelandic. We had the fish stew there, and it was ok, but not the best we had in Reykjavik. Beautiful location, delicious rye bread ice cream (sounds weird, but it works!). Definitely worth stopping in if you're in the area.
26.11.2017 Miguel
Great atmosphere, with lovely music playing. Very amicable staff.

The food, homemade Icelandic ware, is delicious and affordable compared to a large majority of places in Iceland.

I recommend trying the Rye Bread Ice-cream.

Based on the menu and the smell that hit me at the front door, I was expecting fishy and funky. It ended up being delicious fish, meat soup, and veggies. The fermented shark was pretty weird, but worth trying. Prices not too bad for a huge plate of food.
15.11.2017 Sam
One of the best and most authentic meals of our trip! We got here 10 minutes before they opened and we're seated right away. We split one of the platters with a bit of everything. Weirdly delicious! Make sure you an adventurous eater tho!

I've never ate so slowly to enjoy all of the flavours in my meal. Absolutely beautiful. Cosy atmosphere and an authentic experience. Add it to your must-do list in Iceland!

We went for alate lunch and were served beautifully prepared small plates of food, served by polite and attentive (but not pushy) staff, in a modern, unfussy bar/bistro. Of particular note were the trio of marinated herring, and also the wild mushroom risotto with beef cheek and parmesan shavings. Prices average for Reykjavik.

Fabulous tapas-style restaurant in Reykjavik. Lunch menu of 3 tapas was ideal and the lamb, fish pie and garlic potatoes were all delicious. Waiting staff were very attentive and this was the perfect place for our last day in Iceland.

Really awesome space. The staff is great, the food is superb, and the prices aren't ridiculous like most places in this city. Dined upstairs with some friends and happened to have the whole floor to ourselves. Very cool. Highly recommend it!

During our stay we visited this location three times. The staff was phenomenal and the food was great. Awesome pizza and I'd recommend to anyone who is craving for some.
03.05.2017 Edward
My 9 y/o daughter wanted a pizza and this place was open after 20:00 so we were fortunate.

The place was nice and warm and the ambiance was very pleasant. We ordered the cheese pizza and it was very good. At only stayed for a quick pizza but it would've been nice to go there for dinner.

Good place of you're looking for something familiar.
