Panorama Palace Hotel in Meta

Our stay at Panorama Palace Hotel in Meta di Sorrento was, to put it mildly, very disappointing and definitely did not meet the standards you would expect from a 4-star hotel.

The biggest issue was the food – extremely poor quality, and in some cases it seemed clearly old and was genuinely unpleasant to eat. I will attach photos as evidence, as I believe they speak for themselves. When you pay to stay at a 4-star hotel, the last thing you expect is to wonder how long the food being served has been sitting there.

The room cleaning and housekeeping also left a lot to be desired. Our bed linen was not changed even once during our entire stay, and the towels were only replaced on the SEVENTH day. The housekeeper entered the room every day, but honestly, it often felt more like a routine visit to mark the room as attended rather than to actually provide proper cleaning and housekeeping service.

The hotel does indeed offer a beautiful panoramic view, but there is a catch – be very careful about which room you book and where you are actually accommodated, because some of the rooms are literally below ground level. The name “Panorama Palace” can become quite ironic if you happen to be placed in one of them.

And finally, the complete lack of mobile phone signal in certain parts of the hotel adds another special touch to the overall “4-star” experience. 🙂

To be fair, I also want to mention the positives: the staff were polite, friendly and helpful, especially the gentleman working behind the bar and the reception staff. The panoramic view is also genuinely beautiful. Unfortunately, however, the kindness of a few staff members and a nice view cannot compensate for poor-quality and stale food, inadequate housekeeping, and an overall level of service that falls far below what you would expect from a 4-star hotel.

After this stay, I am left with one main question: what exactly are the criteria by which this hotel has been awarded 4 stars?

My daughters and I spent a few days at this Panorama Palace Hotel booked through Air Canada Vacations. This Hotel that they put us in was not the best. The room was spacious, but the shower head was broken, and we brought it up at the main desk, they asked us to not give us a bad google review but give them a chance to repair the broken fixture. We did, only to be told that there was nothing wrong with it. The towels they brought us were dirty, I don't even think they were washed. The breakfast was awful just like the other reviews there was nothing there at the buffet to enjoy. When we asked them for some coffees to go, they wanted to charge me for them. Well, at this point I lost it. I plainly told them that the breakfast they were serving was not acceptable and now you want to charge me for the coffees. My shower head is not working properly and you are telling to my face there is nothing wrong with it. Do yourself a favour, stay at the Flora in Sorrento. The sad part of this Air Canada Vacation Tour is that Sorrento was my favourite part of the trip, had Air Canada asked me to upgrade this hotel because it is located at the very top of the mountain, I would have. The other thing that was very disappointing was This hotel has it's very own private beach, but to get to the beach it was quite far. It would take you half a day just to get down there. Do yourself a favour and don't stay here. It does not even warrant a 1 Star.

The hotel is well placed for a summer holiday. The beach is located right under, and the sun rises behind the hotel. The beach doesn't belong to the hotel. 2 sun beds and an umbrella = euro 25! It has dirty rooms, old and rusty window-doors. I was amazed by the dirt in this hotel, which is however a 4* one. The shower cabin is very small, I couldn't bend to wash my feet. I could hardly enter into it, as the sink blocks the way in. Never again.
