Starting with positives - lovely staff and very clean and fantastic view of Matterhorn (not all rooms though). Negatives - no safe, no tv, no kettle/coffee machine in room. Coffee is only available from the downstairs coffee machine during breakfast hours otherwise you pay. You can have tea without milk for free. Not even one drawer in the room! Hotel Carina was the perfect place to stay in Zermatt! The restaurant was absolutely wonderful, serving delicious breakfast and dinner that made each meal a delight. I have been staying at this hotel a few times in Zermatt and it is truly my favourite. I adore the room design, the quiet and peaceful location. The breakfast is fantastic and the staff extremly helpful and friendly. Not to forget the sauna and the steam bath after a full day of hiking. I can't wait to be back.

I think Alpenblick is a nice hotel to stay for when you're in Zermatt. The room is big with balcony, when you can have your lunch, dinner or supper with some views of houses on the mountain. Four of us stayed for one night in two rooms at Alpenblick Superior during our trip to Switzerland. The location is about a 10-minute walk from the train station. Our room had a beautiful view of the Matterhorn, and it was very clean and peaceful, as it's not located near the main street. Do note that you'll need to bring your own toothbrush and toothpaste.

Everything is good except the location is pretty far from the Zermatt station. Our room has the view for Matterhorn and we really enjoyed it!

This was the second time we visited Zermatt. Although the family room is not spacious as we reserved the last room just one day prior to our stay. We truly had a good stay because their friendly staffs, good breakfast, clean room and the pick-up service they provided. Also, they are near by the gondola station of Matterhorn bergbahnen.

WOW! We had an amazing stay in hotel holiday zermatt! The staff is very friendly and helpful. We arrived after hours and there was a key waiting for us. The rooms are very clean. Bathrooms are great. After checkout, they allow you to leave your suitcases as long as you like while you go tour the beautiful sights. Close to the train stations. Beautiful sunrise view of the matterhorn outside.

We stayed here last March, service was great , breakfast is the best . Rooms were clean and just had a mountain views. Would definitely come back here one day. Furthermore, we are grateful for the global shipment of the jacket. We got fall weather, winter weather and perfect view of Matterhorn direct from our balcony! Room was large and with two twin beds we could separate them for more room! Fabulous views from this apartment of the Matterhorn. Perfect location to see the Matterhorn all day but especially at sunrise and sunset, The apartment is very spacious with lots of room. We had a fantastic stay at Hotel Alpenroyal. The highlight was definitely waking up to an unobstructed view of the Matterhorn from our balcony, truly postcard-perfect. While the hotel sits on a hill, don’t let that scare you; they provide a key card for a private elevator/tunnel system that drops you right into the heart of Zermatt in about 3 minutes. Clean and nice hotel. The pool and sauna are small but sufficient. Easy access to the town center by elevator is a big advantage. Breakfast was tasty and adequate. There are no slippers provided in the rooms, and even basic slippers are only available for an extra charge, so it’s best to bring your own.

Enjoy a retro log cabin experience. The hotel offers a free shuttle service. The only downsides are that there's construction going on nearby, a large scaffolding obstructs the view, and there's no elevator. Those with large suitcases should avoid this option.

I booked a balcony room with a view of the Matterhorn. My view was of a wall.

Nice sauna. The only downside was that a house was being built right in front of our room, with a large crane directly blocking the Matterhorn. I wonder how long it will take for the house to be completed.

Room was big, comfortable and firm beds as we like it, and the shower was in a tub with a curtain, so water didn't spray everywhere! The room would have had a SUPER view of the Matterhorn, except there was a huge crane right in our way, so we had to go outside and down the hill a little way 7ntul we had a good view - nothing the hotel could do about it. Nice hotel but the only setback is i booked 2 rooms but one room without lift which i need to hand carry up the stair case Also no kettle been provided, i guess this is basic requirement. It's just a 7-minute walk from Zermatt train station. Breakfast starts at 7 AM. The hotel is clean and quiet, and it has an on-site restaurant. There's also a large supermarket conveniently located right next door.

We stayed as a couple and found the hotel to be small but incredibly cozy. It's conveniently located just a 5-6 minute walk from the station and right on the river.

Great location, you pay for the view. Food at the guest restaurant wasn’t great at all (at least when we stayed). Hotel provide coffee, sugar, creamer and tea as well kettle to heat the water. If I’m back to Zermatt I would stay somewhere else and just go up by the train to enjoy the view.

We were rather put off going into our room as it had a bad smell to it and the bathroom in particular and surmised because of this, that something wasn't clean perhaps the carpet or drains to the toilet. I specifically booked a room with a Matterhorn view, but was extremely disappointed to find a metal scaffolding directly obstructing the view from my window. The hotel did not notify or explain this either prior to my arrival or during check-in. This is probably a solid 3 star hotel but was a 5 star experience. Location can't be beat, service was efficient and friendly. And the room was so unique, so comfortable. It's a bit of a walk on the way back. It's more convenient to call a car. If the weather is cold, I recommend calling a car to go in. The bed is small and nice.

It was great that the room was well-equipped with an induction hob, dishes, and cutlery. There was no microwave, though. The room was clean, and noise wasn't an issue.

Our other accommodation was suddenly cancelled, and although we booked this place just an hour beforehand, they welcomed us very kindly. From the window of our room, we could see the Matterhorn and enjoyed a beautiful sunrise.

The staff at checkin were very helpful and had a storage area for our gear before and after I'd definitely stay here again

We had a wonderful stay in Zermatt. The place was very clean and well equipped with everything we needed. The bed was very comfortable, and the view of the Matterhorn from the balcony was absolutely stunning. The location is great, about a 10-minute walk from the train station. The communication was smooth and easy throughout our stay. The only small note is that the Wi Fi was a bit slow and spotty...

Value for money. Has almost everything needed. All common appliances available except for washer. Location-wise, not in the central area, but it's about 8 min walk from train station and there is a greenline bus stop 2 min away. Nearest mart is 5 min walk away. My room comes with balcony with matterhorn view. So that's a plus. Room itself is huge for the price, with 1 bedroom queen bed and queen...

Our stay at Apartments Patricia was perfect for our family. Each bedroom having its own bathroom made everything so easy and comfortable. The kitchen was excellent and well-equipped, and the views of the Matterhorn from our balcony were absolutely amazing. We wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again.

I don't know about the hotel. But the outside deck is perfect for a midday drink and break while snowboarding.

Basic hotel but a needed and appreciated break from hiking around Matterhorn. sink in the room, otherwise shared bathroom clean and available. The on-site restaurant good. The dinner included in half board - you could choose from a few positions on the menu. excellent soup. Breakfast good and with many options. Located right next to the cable car station.

Stayed here to acclimatise before climbing the Matterhorn. Friendly staff, great dinner and decent beds. Small things make a difference - having a few extra plugs in the dorm room for charging phones made it nice and convenient.  Great location - especially during Summer when you can side outside and have a coffee or beer, with a direct view up to the summit of Matterhorn. 

I stayed two nights in a row. The views were superb; the Matterhorn was right outside my room window. The hotel is located at an altitude of 2583 meters, and breakfast and dinner are included, with a train ride from the train station to the mountain. I experienced mild altitude sickness; I had a severe headache and chest tightness half an hour before dinner. The beef soup was very rich, a little salty...

‘Hotel Schwarzsee’ is one of the places to stay if you like to be close to the Matterhorn. From here you can hike early up to Hörnli Hütte. We took the Gondola up to Schwarzsee and stayed overnight. The hotel is a nice mountain hotel with good basic rooms. It’s cozy and comfortable. The view is breathtaking. Loved early morning sunrise that created a spotlight on the Matterhorn. Just Stunning!
