Pavilion Samui Villas and Resort in Lamai Beach

The hotel is great, with an excellent location. There are also beach performances in the evenings. The service is good, and it's very close to the night market. It does stay lively and a bit noisy until after midnight, but overall, I'm very satisfied.

The hotel is really nice and the service is great. The staff was really thoughtful and available.

We had a problem with electricity in the room, after reporting it to the reception a technician was at the room in the time it took me to get back to the room.

The villa pool is great. Just the right size. The bed was really comfy.

The hotel doesn't quite live up to a 5-star rating. However, it does have pleasant grounds, two pools, and a restaurant. The breakfasts are decent, with a good variety on offer, but they're rather uninspired and not particularly delicious. On the plus side, the coffee is good. The cocktails at the bar during the day were disappointing (we tried a Piña Colada once and weren't tempted to order another).

A major highlight is the excellent direct beach access with sun loungers. The beach itself is fantastic. We were very pleased to see security on the beach who also helped set up umbrellas and arrange sun loungers. There's also a staff member with a first aid kit to treat cuts from corals – a very thoughtful touch (which we actually needed assistance with).

Among the obvious drawbacks, the soundproofing in the rooms is extremely poor. We ended up with noisy neighbors who were also smoking ******** on their balcony (though it's legalized in Thailand). As a result, our room smelled terrible, and the noisy parties made it impossible for us to relax.

On the bright side, when we reported this to reception, they immediately gave us a key to another room so we could get some much-needed sleep there, which we did.

In terms of service, the hotel staff deserves a 5/5. Housekeeping and room comfort would get a 3/5 each, and breakfasts a 4/5. Overall, I'd give it a four out of five.

A decent 4-star hotel with good breakfasts and good pools. The rooms across the street can be a bit noisy because of the nearby night market. Also, the air conditioning units are old and don't work very well. At the beach, an area of the sea has been cordoned off, but it's too shallow to swim there. However, just 50 meters away, the sea is perfectly fine.

The hotel is good for young families. I went with my elderly parents, so it was difficult for them to move around, due to there being many steps everywhere.
The service staff is generally very good, and the food is good too.
Now for the areas of improvement:
1) On our first day at the beach, there was some miscommunication with a server. We asked for a drinks menu and it took him 20 mins to get it to us, so in the meantime, we decided what we want to get. When he finally came to us and we have him the order, he got upset that we didn't even look at the menu. After that, he got the order wrong. This wasn't entirely his fault, there was a genuine miscommunication, but again, he was very rude to my father about it. Then he started rolling his eyes and shaking his head at my dad. Who is 81 by the way. Luckily, the other days, we had different staff helping us and they were wonderful.
2) Housekeeping: Not the best. The room was quite dusty. Floor was quite sandy too.
Tip: Ask for sea facing rooms. The other rooms are a little darker and the ground floor rooms can occasionally have a drainage smell, as the drain system is right outside the room.

Great location and easily walkable to lamai market or to nearby cafes and shops. The live band from lamai market can be heard from the rooms so if you are a light sleeper this may be a problem. The floor manager goes around to check on guests during morning breakfast and we appreciated this gesture. The AC in our room was leaking and she immediately sent someone to check on it. It never got fixed as it kept leaking every night again but it was ok and we werent very bothered by it. The mattresses need a change asap as the depressions were too obvious. I would request also for better lighting or at least the option to brighten the lights should we wish in the room. The hallway resort lights were also too dim making it a little dangerous at night as there were many steep steps and curbs. For the accessibility and staff i would stay here again
