Reviews
After midnight, a guest next door was standing right outside his room, talking loudly on the phone for a long time. I could hear everything clearly as if he was inside my room.
I contacted the front desk and asked them to handle it, but the noise continued.
It was past 12 a.m. and impossible to rest properly.
If you’re a light sleeper or expect basic quiet hours at night, this hotel may not be a good choice.
And overall environments are extremely old too. I tried to think nicely but can’t.
Unfortunately, this hotel is the worst hotel I have ever stayed in the world.
Breakfast below average. If something is finished, there is no refill. So better go early. Front desk staff are rude. Super rude. Specially this one who puts a lot of make up on. She made fun of me in Thai. I speak Thai but she didn’t realize I do. The other one leaves me standing talking to her and goes to pick her grab order. I was there 15 min before check in time and they kept lying telling me room is not ready. Except for location and cleaning and kitchen staff, I would have rated this hotel -1 star.
The hotel is very old and really needs renovation. Guests have been writing about this for years, but nothing has changed. Location is good, everything is close by, but the entrance to the hotel is not attractive. 3/5
There is no real gym, only some old and broken equipment near reception. In this hot weather, nobody will use it anyway. 3/5
The hotel has two pools, they are clean and well-maintained, but the pool bar has been closed for a long time. No entertainment in the hotel. 3/5
Rooms are cleaned every day, even if you don’t want it. Housekeeping knocks loudly even with a “SLEEPing” sign. And can enter in after a one knock. Management should fix this.
Rooms have Wi-Fi, safe, fridge, aircon, TV, shower, etc. 3/5
Staff at reception are very nice and helpful. 5/5
Cafe is open for breakfast only. Breakfast is average. 3/5
Overall: This hotel does not deserve 4 stars. Needs renovation and better service for the price.
The pool-access rooms are cool in concept, but the loungers you're given haven't been cleaned since the 90s.
The room is old and that's not an issue, the amount of milipedes (insects) that were in the room was insane, they were practically staying with us. When I raised this to the reception, they laughed at it and didnt take it seriously, spent half my vacation crushing milipedes.
The breakfast buffet was fine, plenty of options, but again, not a 4-star.
The pools were nice, but surprsingly empty.
Now comes the worst part, Kata beach in general, and this hotel particularly is filled with Russians that are constantly staring at you all the time (I guess cause we're not russian?), it is absolutely infuriating. Their manners at the buffet are also awful, I do not understand it, I met many nice russian people in the past, those weren't some of them.
Anyways, hotel is old, location is excellent, rooms are ok but filled with insects, loungers are disgusting, cleaning staff is super friendly, buffet staff is unprofessional and borderline rude.
This hotel has an amazing location, right behind Kata Walking Street, a food and souvenir market, and just 150 meters from Kata Beach. It’s central yet quiet, which is a big plus.
The rooms are clean and well-equipped, featuring big, comfy beds, a warm shower, a garden shower, and a small terrace with direct pool access. The only minor inconvenience is the lack of power sockets near the bed. Toiletries are decent, and they provide extra towels for the pool or beach.
The pool is large and beautiful, especially at night with the decorative lights and palm trees. It’s quite shallow (about 1m deep) but great for relaxing. There are water jets and submerged stools where you can sit and enjoy a drink at the pool bar, but unfortunately, the bar was closed even during high season. Sunchairs are always available, and there’s also a library and a pool table for extra entertainment.
The lobby area is nicely decorated, with tables, chairs, and sunbeds both indoors and outdoors. The overall atmosphere is peaceful and tropical, with a resort-like feel, making it a great place to relax in the heart of busy Kata Beach downtown.
Breakfast is served buffet-style indoors at the restaurant from 6:30 to 10:30, which is a convenient time range, but the food and drinks could be better. The waitstaff wasn’t very attentive, and the toilet near the lobby and restaurant wasn’t always clean.
Housekeeping ignored the “Do Not Disturb” sign and knocked repeatedly in the morning. After I asked them to stop, they did—but then they failed to clean the room. The reception staff speaks very little English and isn’t very helpful. For example, they refused to assist when my driver called speaking Thai and needed directions.
While the staff generally lacks warmth and initiative, they do fix technical issues quickly. I had problems with the safe one day and the door lock another, and both were resolved immediately.
I booked through Agoda for €50 per night, which is great value. However, at the reception desk, they were asking for almost double the price. Booking online is highly recommended to get the best deal.
We stayed in suite 820, Pool Access Room for 3 nights: $299.76 plus $ 56.35 tax total $356.11. Very convenient location, behind Kata Walking Street. Near all the convenience and walking distance to the beach. Breakfast is included. Don’t miss out on the omelette station, outside tables. We didn’t see it until it was too late. On our last day here after we had breakfast, on the way back to our room, we discovered the made to order eggs. Surprisingly, while having breakfast there every morning, the staff never mention anything about it. Lol
Because the location is ideal if we were to return to Kata, we would definitely stay here again.
Note:
The owner has breakfast at the diner also, not sure if it’s every morning. Before sitting down to enjoy his meal, he made a point to go around and greet everyone in their language. I thought that was a nice touch :)
Be sure to close the sliding door when go in and out of your room, otherwise you will get a lot of mosquito bite during the night. I did, at least 5 bites 😭
