Hotel Metropole in Sorrento

Just arrived home after a short stay at this hotel, couldn't fault it the staff some of the best we have encountered on our stays in hotels were delightful very attentive nothing to much trouble. Hotel itself was spotlessly clean and comfortable we had a Seaview stunning views of Vesuvius and the Bay of Naples.Yes it was on a busy road at times but no problem at bedtime. It was a 20 minute walk down to centre of Sorrento, but there was a bus stop 100 yards from the hotel and at 2 euros on the bus which there was up to 3 buses an hour. The breakfast was more than acceptable of good quality,we ate one evening and thoroughly enjoyed.The pool area was very clean and comfortable. Would we stop there again yes we would. Thank you for a very enjoyable stay.

Was unsure what to expect due to mixed reviews , but honestly can’t fault this hotel . Staff were all really friendly and helpful and welcoming particularity in restaurant and bar . We had a room with sea view which was lovely . The bed was large and very comfortable with plenty of pillows and spare blankets provided . Balcony was quite small but enough space for table and two chairs and we moved sitting out in it in the evenings and had an amazing view. The decor was modern and included free safe and hairdryer and slippers and toiletries also provided . Mini bar also available at additional costs . Shower was large and plenty of towels provided which were changed daily , room also cleaned daily and the hotel was spotlessly clean . The are steps up to the hotel entrance , no ramp but there is a lift available to reception which can be accessed via ground floor level . There are several terraces including the pool area , again spotlessly clean . The pool area was really chilled and relaxed with plenty of sun beds , table and chairs , and comfortable sofas and waiters will bring drinks up to all levels accompanied by delicious snacks . The breakfast was delicious the scrambled eggs were particularly good . Selection included hotdog sausages , bacon , boiled eggs , cereal , pastries , pancakes , fruit , cheese ham etc and good selections of drinks including tea and coffee . Restaurant was light and airy and had outside seating available. Useful (hopefully) information : 1. drinks for the bar are charged to your room no cash or card payments. We just settled up when we left but if you want more control on your spend you might want to settle up daily . 2. Number 8 bus is great for getting into Sorrento town and run about every 40 minutes . It is nice walk down, but watch the cars as no path either side for a while . 3. The number 8 bus also goes to Sorrento station where you can catch train Pompeii . The fare is only two euro into Sorrento town . 4. The white wine is delicious .

We had a lovely stay . The rooms were cleaned daily , staff fantastic and helpful. The hotel is sat above the centre but buses are regular. The only let down was the food. Very average breakfast but the restaurant was terrible, probably the worst meal I have ever eaten out, it was actually laughable ! It’s too far to just grab something to eat but apparently from other guests the restaurant next door is amazing but we missed out on it and chose to eat here on the last night big mistake . An itemized bill and receipts would be good also when ordering at the hotel , you just pay the bill at the end of the stay . Sorrento was amazing so glad we went but maybe order an uber eats if you plan on eating here .

This hotel is excellent for Sorrento - it is within walking distance (about 20minutes) but the road is busy without footpaths. We hopped on the 008 bus everyday (2€) which runs every 20 minutes from outside the hotel . The hotel is spotlessly clean and there’s no problem with sun beds by the pool . Cartelos the bartender is wonderful! So friendly he made our holiday extra special. I wouldn’t hesitate to rebook this hotel for value and convenience. Definitely worthy of 4 ⭐ accommodation. We recently stayed at the Metropole Hotel in Sorrento and had a great experience overall. Initially, there were some issues with our room, but the management team quickly addressed the problems and ensured everything was sorted out. The staff were polite, attentive, and made our stay enjoyable. The hotel's location was reasonably close to downtown Sorrento, making it a convenient base for exploring the area. We'd recommend the Metropole Hotel to anyone looking for a comfortable and well-managed place to stay in Sorrento

Just back from a week's stay at the Hotel Metropole and had to write a review! The hotel is wonderful - not too large but spacious in all areas. We had a superior room with partial sea views so imagine our delight when we opened the doors and found a wonderful view of the bay of Naples and Vesuvius. Lovely large, comfortable bed and really good shower and extremely clean throughout our stay. Plenty of sunbeds throughout the week and a big shout out to all the staff - waiting staff in the restaurant, bar staff, cleaners and reception staff. Also to those we didn't see - kitchen staff - loads of choice at breakfast and good variety for evening meal. The walk into town is lovely even though part of it has no footpath -- remember to walk facing oncoming traffic and it's fine. Overall, a lovely stay and, if we return to the area, we will definitely return to this hotel.

Just returned from a fabulous week at The Metropole. This was our second trip to Sorrento, so we're aware of the standard of hotels in the area. This hotel met all those standards. It is a short walk on the road to the paved area. However, the bus stops right outside.

We stayed here for a week with 2 older children (20’s). You cannot fault the hotel it is clean, the pool area is great plenty of sun beds no need to get up early. We stayed half board the breakfast is plentiful and the evening meals are excellent. It is a small hotel and the staff are super friendly and very attentive. We walked into Sorrento most days 15 min walk, it is well documented the lack of pavement at the beginning of the walk we didn’t find this an issue. The area is positioned well for trips to pompeii, capri and Naples which we used the train and ferry for. This is probably the friendliest and most attentive hotel I have stayed in would definitely return
