Hotel Abest Happo Aldea is located in a beautiful forest in Wadano and has easy access to the ski slopes at Sakka through the forest or by shuttle bus. The rooms are clean and spacious and very comfortable beds with excellent doonas. The breakfast is both western and Japanese and variable and generous. All the staff were very helpful and professional and we really enjoyed our week there. Would highly recommend particularly for the friendly staff and beautiful location. Dez

We booked this hotel for our honeymoon in Japan while traveling with my husband’s mother. We paid the price of a triple deluxe room, but upon arrival were placed in a standard triple room that was extremely small and did not even have the third bed set up. I had called the day prior to arrival to ask about upgrading and was told it could be possible the next day, but upon arrival we were told the hotel was fully booked and that nothing could be done, including switching rooms or paying extra. The bathroom had large steps to enter and into the bathtub, which made it difficult and unsafe for my mother-in-law and was not disclosed at booking. While the staff was initially friendly, once we raised concerns there was little willingness to help. After one night, we contacted **********, who said a refund was possible if the hotel approved it, but the hotel refused to cooperate. One manager initially presented herself as the owner, then said nothing could be done until ********** provided a Japanese-speaking representative. We checked out early and stayed elsewhere but were not given a checkout confirmation or receipt. Given the amount paid for this room and that we were not provided the accommodation we paid for, this experience was extremely disappointing. I would not recommend this hotel for multi-guest bookings or travelers with older family members.

The hotel's hygiene was very poor.

We stayed with an extended family group. The rooms were sweet & simple but very comfortable. The Lobby was a great place to mingle & make new friends whilst enjoying a local or western style meal or drink from the bar. Yuika is absolutely delightful, professional & went way beyond to assist a family member to recover a phone which was travelling the area in a taxi for a couple of days. Thank you Yuika & all the team ~ Yama, Nori, Anu, Luke, Bram & Cameron for all your help in making our Hakuba family Ski Holiday the best. We appreciated your advice, guidance & shuttle service.

The bathroom towels were small - the onsen was great - could do with more frequent shuttles

The hotel is about 6-10 min walk to Sakka Lift. Not much food around for snacks or lunch. Breakfast is good. There’s shuttle bus running early morning and after 3pm.

Hotel Abest is a three star hotel with five star service. We had stayed in three star hotels previously and knew what to expect in terms of comfort and amenities. The rooms are spacious, but no wardrobe, which was fine as the drying room took care of the ski gear and there was enough space in the rooms for everything else. The bathrooms were small and they were the same as other places we have stayed at in Happo One. The hotel has an onsen and there is plenty of room for a shower and nice soak after a day of skiing if the en-suites were too small to use. The lounge area was lovely and it was a great place o talk to other guests in the evening and have something to eat if you didn’t want to go out. Also, the breakfast was really good with a choice of hot food, salad, fruit, cereal yogurt, tea, coffee. The location of the hotel is about a 5-10min walk to the closest lift and there was a shuttle service for drop off and pick up. This was a very good service, we appreciated it very much and it was always on time. The staff at the hotel were absolutely wonderful. There were quite a few Australians employed and they were all so helpful, engaging and willing to help. Thanks guys!! I do have to say a special mention to Yurika and Nori-san. Everyday they both greeted us with happy smiles and nothing was ever too much trouble. It was so lovely staying at a hotel where the staff were friendly, helpful and cheerful. We had lots of wonderful conversations, with not only Yurika and Nori-san, but with other guests also joining in. The atmosphere that was created by the staff made us feel special and relaxed, which I did value more than anything else. If we return to Happo-One we will stay at Abest Aldea again. Thank you everyone for making our holiday special with wonderful memories😊❤️❄️.

Yuika and the team were helpful and delightful during our visit this month. The hotel is well placed, but the van to get to/from the ski slopes is very convenient. Especially at the end of the day. The onsite onset was lovely. Yuika also helped with a mistimed bus on our departure day, meaning we still made our connections. Just.
