Ambassador Hotel in Almaty

Excellent central location close to all amenities and museums. Oldish hotel but perfectly functional and very comfortable. Noisy kids constantly running around were a bit problematic trying to get sleep before return flight. Other than that a decent place at a decent price too. Nice staff.

Was with my family in August 2023. The hotel is a 3-storey building with high ceilings in the central part of the city. When it was opened/renovated, judging by the style of the renovation, about 20 years ago, it was done very well and of high quality. It was probably very expensive and cool back then. Now the renovation is a little tired, but the hotel itself now looks neat and is kept clean. There are no complaints about the cleaning. The staff is very friendly and cooperative. All requests and questions were always responded to politely. All requests were fulfilled. Everything they asked for was brought. Rooms are cleaned daily. The bathroom has a set of shampoos, toothbrushes, gels, etc. Every day a liter bottle of water was brought to the room free of charge. There is a kettle and tea and coffee making facilities. Breakfast is not extensive, but everything you need is there. We didn't go hungry. Scrambled eggs and omelettes are made for those who wish. The coffee was good. We were pleased with the bagels and bagels. The location is extremely good. Almost opposite there is an exchange office with adequate rates. There are plenty of restaurants and cafes nearby. There are grocery stores. Museums and shopping centers are within 10-15 minutes by taxi. There are places to walk. The price/quality ratio, it seems to me, is quite good. There are free Tele2 SIM cards at the reception. Overall, we were satisfied with our stay and are ready to stay at this hotel again.

A good hotel provides almost everything required for the tourists. Maybe not so most new rooms and equipment but all things are in order and work fine. Very polite and responsible crew. Fine breakfast to start a day. The fine location - the bus stop, shops, and cafes are near. We may recommend Ambassador for the guests of Almaty!
