Sugar Marina Surf Kata Beach in Kata

The place esp the rooms really needs a new makeover. the pictures shown here is totally different. Bed was uncomfortable and pillows were too soft. The room smell musky and i’d purchase room air freshener to make my 5d4n stay more amicable. Mosquitoes were quite alot and purchasing some mozzie repellant helps abit and yet u will still get some mosquito bites. Breakfast was okay with limited choices daily. I will say for a family trip with a toddler it tends to get uncomfortable however the service and friendliness of the staffs are very pleasant.

This hotel was terrible for me personally! There seems to be an overall lack of maintenance and attention to details with upkeeps. I was incredibly disappointed with the condition of the room i was given. However, the staff were amazing! They offered to transfer me to Sugar Marina Pop which was better. Overall I wouldn’t recommend either of these hotels if you’re looking for 4* standards, service and attention to details. 

+ Comfortable bed, great location and the staff was very sweet. We got the pleasure of meeting Thandar, who was very inviting and kind. Hotel facilities were nice, room was nice and didn’t have any issues with the cleanness. Pool is quite big and warm and the plants surrounding it create a nice atmosphere.
- The AC left orange stains on our clothing, im guessing from rusty pipes and the condensation. Freshly received towels were also slightly stained with orange stains, so it was definitely not our own doing. The breakfast was extremely average, with a small range of dishes to choose from, and as a pescatarian, extremely limited options. Would’ve rather saved that money and went to a restaurant. There is also an unfinished building that is a bit of an eyesore behind the pool, but the hotel cannot be blamed for this. Walls are quite thin; we could hear babies crying the entire night. The water temperature was jumpy too.
