OZO Phuket in Kata

Cons:
1. Noise issue: Initially, I stayed in room 1605 facing the street. I couldn't fall asleep until past 3 AM due to the noise from bars, traffic, roaring motorcycles, and crowds on the main road. The next day, I asked the front desk to switch to room 2309 in the second building. Although it still faced the street, the noise problem was significantly reduced.
2. The room was extremely small, and there was an issue with the wet/dry separation in the bathroom; the entire bathroom would get wet after a shower.
3. Poor value for money: At over 800 RMB per night, there are many better options available in the Kata area.

Pros:
1. The breakfast buffet was extensive and served until 10:30 AM.
2. Excellent location: 7-Eleven and the night market are right across the street, and it's only 150 meters from the beach.
3. The front desk staff were very welcoming and friendly.

Overall, it was very good. The breakfast was delicious and varied daily, and the location was convenient. The towel service by the pool was excellent, and the front desk staff spoke Chinese, which made traveling with parents and children very easy.

The rooms, dining, and pool were all great, and the pool's back exit leads directly to the beach. They even had movie nights, and I participated in a cardio session on the lawn with other guests. It's also convenient for massages and dining nearby, which is probably why there were quite a few Chinese guests. Some of the highly-rated restaurants on Dazhong Dianping might have gotten their ratings through soliciting reviews. The pizza in the annex building was excellent, and the kids' pizza-making class was a lot of fun.

This is a very kid-friendly hotel, highly recommend for those with children aged 6/7 and under. The back gate offers quick access to Kata Beach. The only downside is that the room is a bit small, but you can ask the front desk to set up the sofa bed! Overall, it's very good.

The hotel's pool is very clean, and they provide unlimited beach towels. There are rinse-off facilities at the back entrance to the beach. The service is very welcoming, with staff who speak Chinese, and luggage storage is also very convenient.

We had a very positive stay at OZO Phuket and would highly recommend it, especially for families with young children.

Location & Amenities (10/10):
The location is truly prime.It's just a few minutes' walk to Kata Beach and directly opposite the fantastic Kata Street Market, which we frequented daily for dinners and snacks. The area is also packed with excellent massage shops. Having a 7-Eleven directly across the street and a Watsons pharmacy next door made everything incredibly convenient.

Family-Friendly & Service:
The hotel is brilliantly designed for families.It feels very safe and is fun for kids, allowing parents to relax. The staff are fantastic—attentive, hard-working, and dedicated to guest satisfaction. Our room was perfectly located near the gym and the main entrance, making access easy.

Honest Assessment (The "But"):
It's important to manage expectations:this is not a luxury hotel, and it rightly caters to families on a budget. This is reflected in the breakfast, which offers plenty of choices but is of average quality.
A common issue,which we encountered even in low season, was that the pool chairs were often occupied by towels, making it difficult to find a spot. However, with the beach and other attractions so close, this wasn't a major problem for us.

Verdict:
I would definitely recommend OZO Phuket for families with children under 8.It’s a place where kids can have fun in a safe environment while parents enjoy the incredible local amenities. We will certainly return with our family and friends.

Hotel staff was friendly and attentive. Good location, close to the beach and a lot of restaurant & eateries within walking distance.

We’ve had two week-long stays at OZO now, and I dare say we’ll be back again. Just a great property when traveling with kids. The location is excellent, the staff are lovely, and the breakfast buffet is solid.

If it had a proper kids club, it would be even better.

Our stay at OZO Hotel in Thailand was absolutely perfect. While the hotel itself is fantastic—modern rooms, great breakfast, and a super clean pool—it was the staff who truly made our holiday exceptional. I need to give a massive thank you to two outstanding lifeguards: Nai and Chart.

At the heart of Kata beach next to the night market you can find this lovely and lively hotel. With great service, nice pools and next to everything you need. Bars, restaurants, the market and the beach. We spent two night and had great time. The rooms are clean and simple.
Great value for your money.
