Everyone is professionally welcoming and courteous. Breakfast service is especially efficient as it’s always a busy time and all the staff do very well at every service every single morning

The cooking class was amazing! We highly recommend it! The instructor for the cooking class was patient and helped us through every step so that our meal turned out amazing

We had the five course training and it may have been the best meal we’ve had in Thailand lol! Wonderful location, wonderful food, wonderful staff

Just before our pickup arrived we witnessed a magnificent procession by the Monks to start the New Year celebrations. A truly magical end to a excellent stay at the U Chiang Mai

A very quaint, colonial style hotel tucked away in an alley in between Nimman and Old City. The hotel is really quiet as it is far from main road and rooms face a village. Room is clean and has everything one needs

Stayed for 4 nights here and loved the hotel. Spotless clean everywhere and the staff were always friendly and helpful. Location was very good and we walked into the Old City and Nimman from the hotel

The only problem we found was that the local taxi drivers couldn’t find the hotel and we ended up walking from the main road on many occasions

Staff are friendly and helpful - they even didn’t charge me for losing a room key. There are also many authentic restaurants around that are cheaper than in the tourist center

Good points: - Great Location: relatively short walk to the old town and in a quiet part of central Chiang Mai. - Big Rooms: we had a suite and it was enormous, with two bathrooms and loads of space

What I like most is that it feels more like an art gallery than a hotel—each room and hallway features unique paintings. Overall, it’s good value for money, with the price matching the quality of service

Ample room and a chrome cast to boot so if you want to just hang back, you have everything you want. I will return here, most definitely

Overall, the hotel is pretty good. The pool is huge, but sometimes non-guests, particularly foreigners, use it. In the room, there was a crack and a dent in the floor, which was quite uncomfortable

But the best way to experience Chiang Mai is to walk. We thought the Saturday night Walking Street market was the best with unique craftspeople selling their creations. Combine it with a visit to the Silver Temple

My wife and I stayed here for 5 nights and had a wonderful experience. The hotel is lovely with its polished teak wood interior and traditional carvings. Our room was very spacious and comfortable

The buffet breakfast was sumptuous, with a variety of local dishes and western choices. A tuk-tuk ride will usually cost about 100 Baht or less. Surprisingly, Grab rides are even less expensive

Great hotel in the heart of Chiang Mai. Easy walk to multiple temples, restaurants, and convenience stores. Rooms were of great quality, very clean and maintained by staff daily if desired

Service and environment are great compared to the price in high season which still make more sense than others. -Room size, smell and cleanliness are beyond expectation -the location is great

The hotel is lovely with apartment style rooms, they are absolutely huge with kitchenettes, lounge areas and balconies. The staff were also incredibly friendly and helpful

I checked out of this hotel this morning after staying for 10 nights, and it was a great experience. The hotel is located right in the city center, so it’s very convenient to walk to many places

If you prefer other options, there are many places nearby where you can easily buy breakfast. I understand that the hotel is in a busy city area near roads and schools, so some noise is normal

Although breakfast was not included when I booked, the hotel kindly provided a small complimentary breakfast every day. It was good enough to give me some energy before going out

However, I slept very well and did not hear any noise at night. I read some other reviews before writing this and felt that a few were unnecessarily harsh and not accurate

From my experience, the staff were kind and helpful. If you are a respectful guest, they will take good care of you. I would definitely stay here again

The room is located within the old city. When checking in, you can grab some snacks. The front desk staff can speak Chinese

Central location - so super convenient if it’s your first time in town and want to get a sense of Nimman

In the centre of Chiang Mai with activities galore. Close proximity to shopping,food,bars,massages and the airport(8km away). But flyovers by planes can be a concern

Stayed at this hotel for 2 nights. Really like the spacious room. Plenty of food options nearby. Lotus, 7-11, ATMs, massage place are within 1 minute walks. The reception team is very helpful too

The water pressure in the shower has a mind of its own but if you can get past all this, then it’s a place well worth the value for the cleanliness & convenience you get by being a stone throw away from everything in Nimman

My wife and I stayed in early December and were very happy with our experience at Viang Thapae! The Manager was very helpful upgrading our room after we arrived! It is beautiful little oasis just outside the Old City

The hotel itself is in a more quiet street but just a few minutes by foot to reach both the Phae Gate and the close by stores but in the other direction it's just as far to get to the night Bazar

One of our highlights this trip. We stayed here for the full moon lantern festival. We plan to just go to the river and release a lantern there. The rooms are large and spacious. Breakfast buffet was suitable

Great hotel with a superb location. My wife and I spent 6 days here to explore Chiang Mai and had no issues whatsoever. We never tried the breakfast though, as we explored the city instead

The hotel environment is quite beautiful, and it's very comfortable for swimming and sunbathing. The breakfast tastes pretty good, but the air conditioning in the room is too loud and a bit noisy.

Only one person at the front desk spoke English, but honestly, with translation apps these days, it wasn't an issue for communication. The best part? The duvet wasn't damp at all, which made sleeping really comfortable

I travel full-time and go from one hotel to the next. I was so pleasantly surprised with how wonderful the common areas were furnished with antiques. Also, it was like a little paradise garde

Clean, cozy room and centrally located for the night bazaar, markets and old town. Easy to get Grab/Bolt and the red taxis for 30 baht a trip if you need to go to the other end of old town or Nimman or outside CM city

When I first looked at the room photos on the website, I thought the room was very small and there wasn't much living space, but I thought the location would be good in the old town

We stayed on the wine bar side, which is a walk up. But the staff was great in helping us with our luggage and we did not mind the walk at all. The room is so cute, the record is simple but cute

The biggest problem is the window is locked and cannot be opened. You have to turn on the Aircon whenever you are in the room. The bathroom is very small, when you shower, the toilet bowl and whole floor get wet

My 1st stay in this hotel was end Aug 2025, it's perfect This time the 3rd week of Jan 2026, the feeling was different

I asked the reception young lady (short haircut), if possible to arrange a room, away to the lift and not the direction to face the main road, same as last time I stayed here

The staff were friendly and kind, and we were able to get an early check-in, which we really appreciated. The room was clean and comfortable, and the amenities were good for the price

The staff are all very friendly, and it's spacious and not crowded, so you can relax. There are plenty of shops nearby, so you won't have any trouble finding something to eat or drink

The family suite has a double bed and two single beds. It is very spacious. The front desk staff is very friendly. There is also an outdoor swimming pool and it is very close to the ancient city:)

The room is a bit old. The cleaning is not very good. The TV is not clear. The refrigerator is very old. The good thing is that it is near a lot of places to eat. It is in the city, so it is convenient to go anywhere.

Comfortable, surprisingly big, room. The furniture a bit 'well worn' but served its purpose. Friendly, helpful staff. A good position for getting to both the old town and Nimman - and for exploring Santitham.

There's a small pool which is alright for children and those just in need of sunshine. The room was comfortable, especially the bed, and clean, while the shower was strong and warm water was available

The king size bed is huge and very comfy Breakfast is good, but I think it could have a little more fruits. You may hear a little beep beep from the outside, from the front building

I like this hotel for the location and the service provided. The room is clean and equipped with everything that I required. The location is near phae gate and all the sat/sun night market

I stayed for 2nights, the room is clean and very quiet and nice service , location also convenient close to Thaprae Gate , only walk 2minutes to the Chiangmai Sunday market

But because the hotel is located at a small lane, most pickup will stop at the main road instead at the lobby m this is not a big deal at all

They have adjoining rooms with large bed in one and twin beds in other, one overlooking the pool so you can keep an eye on the kids and chill on your balcony

Most of the times it wasn't a problem with the exception of when we came exhausted from a whole day of exploring Chiang Mai and/or when we forgot something in the room and had to return to get the item

The water in the pool was freezing cold and almost no one could enable swim in it. Other than that we loved our stay! The breakfast was great, the room was  beautifully decorated and clean

Warm water was very hard to achieve and required constant moving of the shower knob. We were placed on the third floor and there were no elevators. So we had to walk up 3 flights of steps

We loved our stay at the Viangluang resort with two minor exceptions: 1. The water did not mix well in the shower so we either got scorching hot water or cold

My husband is 60 years old and it was a bit of a challenge at times. Perhaps we could have asked to change the room to a floor below but we didn't

I stayed at Wiang Inn Mansion for a week. It's an older building, but my room was spacious and clean. I slept very well in the hotel. There are many restaurants in the neighborhood

The room was spacious and comfortable! It was great! They took care of things like refilling water and toilet paper every day.

And a large mall is within walking distance. The staff was friendly and helpful

The room is spacious and has complete facilities. However, the bed makes a creaking sound. Just tossing and turning in bed, moving a little bit, makes a noise.

1. Small parking lot, big cars will have difficulty parking 2. Bed sheets are not very clean, there are stains 3. No elevator, not suitable for the elderly 4. Suitable for sleeping overnight

A little oasis away from everything but also close to everything. It’s a lush and green spot with a swimming pool, ideal to refresh on hot days and to enjoy the sun (or your morning coffee before going to massage class)

Only downside is the rooms are a bit dated and some room have aircon that you can’t really set to your desired temperature (older model with no remote), depends on the room

Great hotel in the edge of the old town wall. Slightly noisy due to the traffic and surroundings compared to some other accommodation within the old city but not enough to bother me

The hotel is compact but very cozy. The breakfast spread is plentiful. There weren't many Chinese guests, making it a wonderful place for a quiet and peaceful stay.

A beautiful Lanna-style hotel right in the heart of Chiang Mai. The design is warm, charming, and full of local character

The Rim is in a great location on the western side of the old town but within the walls / canal. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. The poolside room was spacious and well appointed

Breakfast was excellent with a great variety of delicious items. The bartender made excellent mixed drinks. Dinner at the Canal restaurant, where breakfast is served, was delicious as well

During my stay here, there were also some universities students stayed here for sport competitions in CM, sometimes students were too excited to make launch and big talks in the night time before noon

The hotel's location is quite convenient, pretty much within 1 km of everything. There's a decent vegetarian restaurant nearby called Shan Food. Wat Chiang Man is peaceful and pleasant if you go early in the morning

My 2nd time to stay this hotel. It's good room, big space and comfort double bed

There's a 7-Eleven right outside the hotel, and fruit vendors selling small bags for 20 baht. In the evenings, there are stalls setting up outside, selling grilled skewers, most for 10 baht

The hotel's main advantage is its cheap price. However, there are a lot of mosquitoes, so it's best to keep the windows closed. This also helps block out the traffic noise from outside

Hotel Cons: • Facilities are outdated and lack maintenance, giving the overall impression of being old and worn (like a renovation from twenty years ago that hasn't been updated)

This hotel is located in Nimman Road, a prime area of Chiang Mai, surrounded by many artistic boutiques, coffee shops, and the famous Nimman One – truly a top-notch location! It's a small boutique hotel, and due to its limited space, there's no view from the room window, but the room itself is still very comfortable

The room was beautiful, the bed incredibly comfortable, and the pillows were amazing (honestly some of the best sleep we’ve had). The location is perfect, right in the heart of Nimman, making it easy to walk everywhere
