Best Hotels in Crete

As regards food, we tended to have dinner out (it’s only a 5 minute taxi ride to the old town and there’s a rank about 20m from the hotel) but the pool bar was good for lunches and the buffet breakfasts in the restaurant were excellent

The best thing for us was the split level family room - twin beds and a shower room downstairs (plus balcony), with a king size and bathroom upstairs, both with a sea view

There’s also a water sports kiosk only 20m away, for parasailing, jet skis etc. The hotel has a nice pool (although a bit fresh!) and the week we were there, there was never any trouble in getting loungers

Our balcony door was really hard to close properly, the shower head holder was broken (they fixed that really quickly) and our room had started to show some wear, but all in all it was a pleasant st

We spent a week in the Aegean Pearl, right at the end of the season in October, and had a fantastic week

We found the food at both breakfast and dinner excellent, even better than last year. A good variety of dishes that were well prepared and tasty. The staff are friendly, welcoming and a credit to the hotel

I don't like to write too much, I'll just say this: I give the highest praise to the entire hotel staff!! With a plus for Gina and Luminita!! I know, I'm subjective, but we can't escape certain affinities!!

The internet drops off often. Shower head was cracked and water would just pour in

The only good part of staying here was their food, the kitchen staff were nice people, and I liked their pool area, but that’s it

Clearly the receptionist lied to us, which is not very nice if you ask me. Moreover, there was no shower gel in the bathroom (and from my experience, hotels usually give you little bottles of shower gel among others)

Pepper Sea Club has excellent staff and the best buffet I’ve ever had in any hotel in Greece, with great wine recommendations. The à la carte restaurant was fine but nothing special

Beach has entrance right from the hotel and you have water few steps from your beach bad which are never all ocupied and you dont need to rush to catch your spot. The best experience is the dinnig room

We had a beautifull week in this hotel. Hotel is super clean with very modern rooms. Nice swimming pool and Lot of activities for a guests

Sunbeds are “reserved” all day without staff intervening, and there’s no on-site doctor — we waited over 3 hours for medical help. The spa looked stylish but felt poor inside for the price

Luckily we were there right before the start of high season and didn't have that many neighbors. We had to change the room because we had different issues with the first room

The best hotel in Crête! So good came back a second year running. Great service and excellent management. Marili and her staff are very accommodating and friendly and helpful with any needs you may have

The rooms are unusually spacious, much above the average and the beds are super comfortable for a good night's sleep

Honestly, of the best dining experiences in Crete! The fish soup, the meat and souvlaki, the salads, the bread that is made is the hotel, the fruits and desserts, all were off the scale yummy! If we had stayed there any longer we would need to go on a diet ;) The staff was also extremely kind, giving a sense of original Greek hospitality without being pretentious

10/10 experience! Just for your holiday plannings: the beach is really close and lovely, just make sure to take swim shoes with you - the pebble sand gets extremely hot and the sea bottom itself is very rocky 😊nothing to do with the hotel but good to know

The rooms are spacious and comfortable and modern. Some even have a private pool as you can see in the picture. One of the best things about the hotel is attention to detail and constant improvement

Modern Ambiente and very clean. We had a good time, especially with the Service Personal from the restaurant, Dimitris and Vicky. Because of you, it always felt like home. Kalí diaskédasi :)!

Cons: The hotel looks good and modern, but the rooms are quite strange. Ours was a micro-room, really small with a tiny balcony which was supposed to be a double room

The rooms are very clean though kind of small but definitely enough. The food was delicious but not much of Greece culture. Since it was very packed the restaurant was kind of loud

I have never experienced such a good food offering in a hotel before and could not find a single item that I disliked. I definitely plan on coming back and fully recommend it

All in all it's definitely recommendable and good in price Quality

Booked the hotel for a 7 days period. Pros: The staff is amazing, really helpful and there when you need. The food is really good, lots of choices and themes across the week. They have music nights every 2 days

Great location to all the best beaches and the Marina which is about 15/20 minute walk across the beach

Hotel centrally placed just off the main road. Restaurants close by, 5 mins walk. Best ones , turn left at hotel exit and walk up the hill. Lunchtime meals on the main road or overlooking the beach

Ours was 70 euros for 2 weeks. Monkey Bar does good Lunches for good prices as does Gorgon on the beach. There is a small supermarket opposite the hotel entrance. Small number of gift shops on the main street

You could order drinks and snacks from your sunbed using a QR code. Waiter Sudesh was particularly pleasant and also worked in the restaurant in the mornings. Breakfast was good and the selection changed every day

Please be aware of the 10 euros per day tourist tax, that was a shock [we only paid 2 euros a day in July visiting another Greek island, and it was a 4 star hotel] Would highly recommend The Atrion

Our room allocation made our stay perfect. We had a sea and pool view, lovely. There's plenty of storage too which we were pleased with [we don't travel lightly]! Nice balcony

If you get the old rooms, you hear everything your neighbours are doing. And they should renovate the bathroom. But it was always cleaned very thoroughly. Besides that everything was top notch

The hotel food at lunch time is lovely and good quality. There is a gym but so small and very hot with no air conditioning, not pleasant. There was music entertainment 3 times a week and it was very nice,

The sunbeds come with tables and umbrellas, and there are plenty of lovely seating areas around the pool to relax. The staff work incredibly hard to keep the whole resort immaculate

Pretty good place, the pools great and the food was really nice and theres amazing people there too, the only thing that bothered me were the mosquitoes but its okay.

The lifeguards were excellent though, really friendly, helpful and good when my son ripped open a scab on a slide! Food - this was a big one for us

There were other activities too such as Pilates - possibly the best view I’ve ever had doing Pilates! There could have been a bit more for teens, and it was a shame the games room wasn’t in the centre of the hotel but a bit further out, but that was only a tiny thing

We have recently come back from our stay on the 4th of October for 7 days. We were in 1514 Positive points Food was good including the buffet Greek and Italian

But we were pleasantly surprised! The food was really good, varied every day and most importantly for us they were very accommodating for a coeliac

If you are looking to hire a car this can be done easily from the hotel for a reasonable price, but there are also a multitude of car / quad bike/scooter hire companies on the doorstep and bus connection is just outside the hotel

Watch out for two great guys who work there, Armando who does the sun loungers and Tonin one of the waiters really nice guy both have work here for a good few years now always lovely to see them

We stayed at this hotel for a week and everything was great. The room was cleaned daily, the food was good, and the location was fantastic, right by the sea

One of the best hotel we visited as a family. Amazing stuff, very patient and pleasant. Helped us with anything we needed, from the moment we arrived until we left. We felt that they are like our family

For lunch there is a snack bar which is the best we have seen in 10 years taking our families on all inclusive holidays. It offers a smaller buffet style similar to the main restaurant, with different options daily

The hotel also offers a few bars situated throughout the site, a pool bar open during pool opening hours, the main reception bar which is double sided, with one side in the reception area, and one opening out to a delightful courtyard with beautiful trees and bushes picked out beautifully at night time with well placed lighting

This is all complimented by a snack bar housed in a building by the main reception, which offers freshly prepared crepes and waffles (be warned the wait time can be a little long as they are cooked to order)

The jewel in the crown of the hotel, though, has to be the food. Most mornings and evenings we visited the main restaurant, which offered a wide range of delicious, freshly prepared, and tempting options

The hotel facilities are extremely good and all staff friendly and personable. The buffet food was generally reasonable and the al le carte restaurant excellent

I asked about the new hotel – what it was like, how many stars – and she told us it was 5-star. It was a 4-star hotel, and definitely not a good one

The hotel they sent us to was run-down and dirty – black mould on the walls, cracked tiles, and generally in a poor state. We were so upset and couldn’t believe this is where we were expected to stay for half our holiday

The woman on reception was rude, dismissive, and showed no care for our situation at all. She didn’t offer any solutions or alternatives within the hotel and just said we’d have to go to another hotel they had arranged

We got to the hotel just after midnight, having received an email confirming our booking, only to be told there was a “problem” with our room and we couldn’t stay

We originally chose this hotel because it seemed quiet and relaxing – exactly what we were looking for on our first holiday together (we’re 18 and 19)

Entertainment was good, particularly the music quiz, acrobats and Greek night. Drinks service was good too and much better if you do the upgrade package which we did part way through our holiday

My 5 year old loved the kids club and activities. Pools were lovely temperature (though the water slides one was cold) All inclusive wasn’t the best I’ve had

Friendly and very helpful staff. Our sons shared a room in which the air conditioning was ineffective and it was very b hot. Altho we mentioned it to the staff, nothing was done to rectify the situation.

We arrived very late and went to the sister property where we waited half an hour only to learn we were at the wrong place - so be cautious as they have three adjacent properties

We stayed at the hotel for 10 days with the family for summer vacation. We've stayed at the hotel multiple times as the staff here are personable and friendly. Our kids love the food, the beach and the area in general

We visited the beach bar and chairs and loved them but really found the chairs on the rocks on the edge of the ocean were our shangri-la! We ate at all of the resorts restaurants as well as several of the sister resorts, all easily accessible by the resort's shuttle boat and the food was scrumptious at every one of them

The atmosphere at each restaurant is completely different, as is the menu, so be sure to venture out and try them all! The staff went over the top to accommodate every request, leaving us special gifts and treats in our rooms

Our rooms were cleaned multiple times daily, including an evening turn down service. Our pool was spotless and the water was pleasantly refreshing. The pictures of this resort and the rooms truly do not do it justice

Everything was a gorgeous marble, floors and walls alike. The closets were so elaborate and beautifully appointed my sister took pictures of how they were laid out as she was getting ready to do a remodel of hers

The location was amazing! It was an easy walk to the main pool (which we only used once since we had our own pool), the bar, breakfast restaurant and lobby area. My bathroom was 200+ square feet

The grounds are immaculate and the flora and fauna are so interesting and lovely. There are so many serene, private places to just sit and enjoy the views

The location is also very good, right by the sea, opposite the beach is nice, there are two swimming pools in the hotel, the children had a lot of fun playing in the water

We enjoyed our stay here. The buffet breakfast and dinner were excellent. We are vegan and could always find healthy options. The staff are very professional and helpful. We also enjoyed the private beach.

With half board, you get a credit to spend — which is actually a clever system — and the food itself was very good and delicious. But having to pay extra for a cappuccino at breakfast is just absurd

There’s plenty of food and drinks on the menu and every single meal we had was amazing and worth every penny

Beautiful hotel, right in the city center. I had a suite, but unfortunately, the room’s hygiene was disappointing. The air conditioning blew out strange dust clouds — it turned out to be extremely dirty (see photo)

The music in the day was not too loud which was great and almost sunbeds were in sunlight most of the day too which was great for October! The pool was always very clean and not too busy even though the hotel was fully booked, and rarely had reserved sunbeds too

As well as being on the main road through Chersonisos so travel by bus to Heraklion or Stalis was so easy and cheap! The food at the hotel is also incredible where we ate 3 evenings while staying

Any query we had was dealt with perfectly by the front desk where whoever we spoke to was more than happy to go above and beyond to help. Pool staff were really lovely and bar staff too

They went over and above providing me with ice daily for my foot, showing us the best wheelchair route to the sea, and so much more. They must have been exhausted end of season but never showed it

The restaurant manager was fantastic too. We admired him greatly! The food was delicious, really varied and plenty of choice for me even though I have to eat gluten free

Day 2 my holiday changed drastically as I had an awful fall out in Chania and ended up in a wheelchair for the rest of the week as couldn’t walk! I am usually very active so this was so upsetting however the staff couldn’t have been more helpful and lovely

Again staff were so helpful with this and everything clearly labelled. The sea and beach was beautiful. Stunning views and most days flat and calm

Garden area near the pool was a little unkept needed attention there seemed to be a leak on one area of the garden near the restaurant which was getting muddy Snack bar other than fruit food was awful Food was average not 5 star! In fact it became very repetitive !!Breakfast same every morning, Evening meal very little fish

The room was clean and the service was excellent in all areas. We will come back again and definitely we recommend this hotel to people to enjoy this beautiful hotel in the heart of the city

View from upper floor of the old city is stunning. Located just 5min walk from the old port which offers many restaurants and tourists shops. Very nice breakfast with many options. Valet parking is a big plus.

She is amazing at everything she does. I really appreciate her welcoming attitude. I have never been more welcomed at any other location. Being an outsider I really appreciate being involved in her day to day

I highly recommend that if you are coming to Crete that you look her up. Another amazing worker is Katerina. She was great to interact with. Her upbeat attitude was amazing. I really appreciate all of the staff at Kydon

The only thing worthy of improvement is that the tissue paper is placed under the washbasin and cannot be found without looking carefully. It is recommended to simply place it on the table in the room

We were staying four nights at this hotel. The view from our big balcony was amazing. Near to everything in old town. People were all friendly and polite, full of professionalism
