Best Hotels in Crete

We visited Crete in September and our stay at this hotel was the best. Thank you all for giving us unique experiences and we will be back soon.

We stayed at the end of September and had an amazing stay. We would highly recommend this hotel – it’s beautiful, spotless, and very well kept, offering a genuine 4-star holiday experience

The sunbeds come with tables and umbrellas, and there are plenty of lovely seating areas around the pool to relax. The staff work incredibly hard to keep the whole resort immaculate

Pretty good place, the pools great and the food was really nice and theres amazing people there too, the only thing that bothered me were the mosquitoes but its okay.

We had a lovely stay at Heronissos! The team there was incredibly welcoming and organized, ensuring everything felt easy from the moment we checked in

It's the little things that count, and the staff's willingness to help really stood out. To top it off, the food was excellent. Thank you for a fantastic holiday!

I have been travelling on and off for 25 years and i have to say this hotel is excellent, by far one of the best in Crete

Very good food, the chef knows what he's doing. 00, with 20% on drinks and food. Breakfast was good, fresh and varied. Its a 5-10 min buss/car ride to Rethymno city

I had a superior double room, basically a 44m2 apartment and it was very nice, looked great, modern with everything you need even a washing machine. Touch panels to control lights and AC, very nice bathroom

Big ground balcony with banana palms and a view of the pool. The snack bar by the pool offers a great variety of food & drinks, more than any other pool/snack bar i have seen

The hotel has this great option of keeping your room for some extra hours on checkout day so you dont have to wander around for hours and hours

Great staff, always smiling, always provides great service, everyone from the cleaning staff to the bartenders to management

The service throughout the hotel was consistently friendly and welcoming, which made a big difference to our overall experience. We stayed in a poolside room, which was very convenient and comfortable

Service was great entertainment, several times we received other guests orders, but we really struggled with the Greek perception that if the kitchen has cooked the food then its put on your table even if your haven't finished your previous course

We had a fantastic stay at Georgioupolis Beach Hotel and would happily return. We visited as a family on a half-board basis, and the food was a real highlight of our trip

Breakfast offered a good variety to start the day, while dinner in the rooftop restaurant was excellent with plenty of choice on the menu each evening

There are lots of facilities to enjoy, including a good-sized swimming pool, a gym, and extras like a pool table, bike hire, a hot tub, and a sauna—so there’s always something to do. The location is another big plus

Fabulous hotel. Can’t fault it, ticks all the boxes. Thoroughly recommend this hotel by far best in resort.

Entertainment was good, particularly the music quiz, acrobats and Greek night. Drinks service was good too and much better if you do the upgrade package which we did part way through our holiday

My 5 year old loved the kids club and activities. Pools were lovely temperature (though the water slides one was cold) All inclusive wasn’t the best I’ve had

Beautiful room (superior maisonette) with plenty of room for a family of 4. Great pools, particularly in the newer blocks for swimming (lane pool), food was good but not excellent

Breakfast and lunch were fine but by dinner we preferred to leave the hotel. If you go right along the beach there was an excellent place for dinner and cocktails

Amazing, very family friendly resort, sparkling clean, very friendly staff, amazing food, mini club, animation team-all was great. Rooms of a great size, special thanks to our cleaner

Our room was fabulous- very spacious, great bathroom and the beds were large and very comfortable. The hotel staff couldn’t have been nicer

The rooftop pool is amazing with a full service bar and plenty of different types of seating and views of the city and sea in the distance. All the staff are friendly and helpful

The hotel is in a great location in the city center, convenient for shopping and visiting museums. The sink is in the bedroom, and the bathroom contains both a toilet and shower

Welcome drink on arrival and a voucher for a free drink at the bar also. Pool area is relaxed and there are loungers on beach and round the pool so best of both options. Rooms are clean and comfortable

Great room overlooking the beach, breakfast was very good, pool area was nice, Sparkling Spa was great

Drinks in the hotel bar are way overpriced paid 8€ for a cocktail that was served in a juice cup and was less than half full! In saying that accommodation is adequate, location is good as it's close to everything and bus service to Chania is brilliant at 2

Friendly and very helpful staff. Our sons shared a room in which the air conditioning was ineffective and it was very b hot. Altho we mentioned it to the staff, nothing was done to rectify the situation.

We stayed here for only a few nights on our honeymoon and we were very happy with how clean and friendly the staff was! We will definitely be coming back and highly recommend it to everyone!

We arrived very late and went to the sister property where we waited half an hour only to learn we were at the wrong place - so be cautious as they have three adjacent properties

I hat a very good massage. Done by Lydia. It was very relaxing! I enjoyed it very much! I recommend to use the Spa. Very nicht hotel and a beautiful beach!

The staff in ol the hotel was very friendly and professional. Reception, bar, restaurant, kitchen, beach restaurant, absolutely great. We don't know we're to start and we're to end speaking about this excellent stay

Great hotel with excellent food and stuff. Close to the beach. Nice tennis court. The room is clean and spacious with nice sea view. Spa is relaxing.

I had a great Spa experience with Lydia. I did the golden hour treatment and inner balance massage as well as the face glow. Lydia did an excellent job.

We stayed at the hotel for 10 days with the family for summer vacation. We've stayed at the hotel multiple times as the staff here are personable and friendly. Our kids love the food, the beach and the area in general

We visited the beach bar and chairs and loved them but really found the chairs on the rocks on the edge of the ocean were our shangri-la! We ate at all of the resorts restaurants as well as several of the sister resorts, all easily accessible by the resort's shuttle boat and the food was scrumptious at every one of them

The atmosphere at each restaurant is completely different, as is the menu, so be sure to venture out and try them all! The staff went over the top to accommodate every request, leaving us special gifts and treats in our rooms

Our rooms were cleaned multiple times daily, including an evening turn down service. Our pool was spotless and the water was pleasantly refreshing. The pictures of this resort and the rooms truly do not do it justice

Everything was a gorgeous marble, floors and walls alike. The closets were so elaborate and beautifully appointed my sister took pictures of how they were laid out as she was getting ready to do a remodel of hers

The location was amazing! It was an easy walk to the main pool (which we only used once since we had our own pool), the bar, breakfast restaurant and lobby area. My bathroom was 200+ square feet

The grounds are immaculate and the flora and fauna are so interesting and lovely. There are so many serene, private places to just sit and enjoy the views

The location is also very good, right by the sea, opposite the beach is nice, there are two swimming pools in the hotel, the children had a lot of fun playing in the water

Wonderful hotel in good location. Just a short walk to the old town for shopping, dinning, etc.

The cleanliness was top-notch, and the service at the beach was also marked by smiles and excellent, friendly service. All in all, a wonderful experience with a high standard from start to finish

The hotel is very new, with good facilities, and meets the five-star standard

We enjoyed our stay here. The buffet breakfast and dinner were excellent. We are vegan and could always find healthy options. The staff are very professional and helpful. We also enjoyed the private beach.

The room was spacious and the hotel was nice. Cleaning could have been a bit better. There were a few minor issues in the room - nothing big. So close to the beach and there are all kind of shops around.

Lovely hotel staff were brilliant we have three of us that or disabled the three young lads were lovely they looked after us for the 10 days we were there food was OK pool was a bit small but overall it was nice would recommend it the young lady on reception was very good the moment we got there to the moment we left

loved the food, the location of the hotel was perfect. such a relaxed pool space never had problem getting a sunbed. overall loved our stay in Mari Kristen and would most definitley return , thank you Dave and Sandra

After getting there late, we were greeted with the most warm welcome from Mike( who is definitely a credit to the Hotel) right from start of holiday to end. could not find any fault with hotel at all

The hotel is great so are the staff the food is awful it was cold every time and there is not enough sunbeds no hand rails down to the pool and to get to the beach are about 20 steps which is not disabled friendly

Really good food. Gym above average Like the ground room with its own pool Personnel was really great

You can enjoy great cocktails until 1am, and no rubbish brands. It was really sad to leave, but this will definitely be our choice of place whenever we’re back in Crete!

The Wife and I spent a few nights nights here during our "babymoon" in early September. The place was very well kept, the 1st floor room was excellent walking right out to the pool

An amazing stay! The place is well located, in a quiet area away from the busy town, but right across from a bus stop that can take you to Chania centre for €3

The hotel is something out of the “White Lotus” series; fantastic pools, right in front of the sea, great restaurants, and best of all; amazing staff. Everyone is sooooo friendly that you literally feel like hugging them

They went over and above providing me with ice daily for my foot, showing us the best wheelchair route to the sea, and so much more. They must have been exhausted end of season but never showed it

Very nice hotel, good location and an excellent coffee wirh the breakfast! The only downside is that the room doors did not have soft closers and a lot of the guests sadly slammed them so it was had to sleep past 7

We stayed here last year and when we needed another night in Chania before joining a trip it was the obvious place to come. As before, we were made very welcome at Reception as we arrived even later than we had said

Guest rooms were clean and exactly what they promised, the pool side breakfast and pool area was wonderful and quiet. The meeting space was perfect and the location was so convenient, we could walk everywhere

The staff really stood out- they were incredibly helpful with arranging taxis and even coordinated a medical appointment for me, explaining how the process worked. That level of care made a big difference

I had a wonderful stay here! The location is perfect- you can walk to many areas, and I only needed a taxi to and from the airport. The rooms were impressively quiet; I never heard my neighbors once

We spent 8 days (7 nights) at the Astir Beach Hotel and it was the best and most beautiful vacation I have ever had! It left strong memories and feelings in me

The food was amazing and although some items were repetitive, they tasted so good that we honestly didn’t mind eating some things more than once. There were a number of options that were new every night so it was great

The team there had activities for the kids and the equipment was clean and safe so our son was very entertained every day and had the best time

The staff was nice and helpful, the rooms were beautifully cleaned every day, the food was very very tasty. Overall, the hotel was clean, the pools were clean, the sunbeds were washed regularly, as were the sidewalks

Since the all-day animation programs were full of various activities and a different special program every evening, we didn't have time to go see much anywhere else, it was so delicious and fun

Huge room(1110) huge balcony. Food excellent, very clean. Great amenities. Quiet and not much pool entertainment through the day. . This is a review compared to other greek all inclusive large hotels.

Amazing hotel in a great location. Beautiful and clean, nothing too much trouble. The staff were really helpful and the rooms well equipped with everything you need

All inclusive includes a fridge of drinks which are refilled each day including fizzy drinks, water and beer. Sunbeds were a little difficult to get around adult pools mid-September but not a major issue

Every evening he brought us excellent drinks and was always so nice and friendly! The cats in the Hotel also were very friendly and nice! 🐱 The Jacuzzi was not heated, unfortunately, even though they said so

The location of the hotel is very good, and the room you booked has a sea view as soon as you open the door, and the beach is just a few steps away

Nice premium bungalows with plenty of space for 3 persons. Nice beach with free sunbeds and good service if you want to order drinks and snacks. All the staff were friendly and helpful

The location is great for easy access to all sorts of vacation preferences. The pool & bar were a particular favorite of mine and offers good shade on hot days and good shelter if it happens to by windy

A wonderful family hotel located right on the seashore, just a two-minute walk from the beach. The staff are amazing and always kind, ready to help with anything you need. The airport is only a 15-minute bus ride away

For dinner always two types if meat + fish + some pasta and sauce. At least two side dishes, bread, very good fresh (as well as steamed/cooked) vegetables and salads, fruits and two kinds of desserts

Close to the airport (it was a plus for us as we don't like long travels, and we could watch planes coming to landing at the beach) in a nice little village, but full of shops, tavernas, and restaurants

Excellent hotel! Good location & view. 10 minutes away from the old part of Chania (12€ in taxi) The staff is very polite and always ready to help. One minor issue is the pool, it is bit cold

We had a wonderful stay! The view of the Cretan Sea was absolutely stunning, and our room was very clean and comfortable. The pools were beautiful and refreshing, a perfect way to relax

Early April it was pretty quiet both at the hotel and in the area, which was nice. Service at the hotel was very friendly and helpful! Food at the restaurant was extremely good, highly recommend trying the a la carte

The facilities are a bit old, the dinner is very good, the beach water is very clear, but it is not the hotel's private beach, you need to cross a road

We had the best time there!! The resort is beautiful, the food was so nice and all the people were so nice and helpfull! The Pink Wave animation team was the best!! Hiii! This May i went to the Cactus Beach Hotel in Stalis, Greece with two of my best friends

There are stairs, ramps and elevators, so it's also good to do for people with a walking disability. The food in the restaurant was actually very nice

Restaurants were also very clean and modern food was excellent plenty of choices. We used 2 of the ala carte restaurants during our stay great service from staff and again excellent food

Paradise for families with kids! Our vacation is still ongoing, probably will complete the review later. Service-best in Creete, really

The Spa, actually belonging to the Cactus Royal hotel but also on our terrain, was excellent, I had a massage from Anja, she was great! What really was lovely was that the people from Cactus beach knew so many languages

However, once you locate it and go upstairs, the rooms are completely modern and beautiful. The delightful breakfasts are served on the second floor and the staff are all helpful and charming

Despite these various inconveniences, Scala de Faro is one of the nicest boutique hotels I've ever stayed in. The location is fabulous, as you can walk to most of the places you will want to visit in Chania

Be aware that it is located in the middle of the main walkway along the port (although the entrance is on the street behind the port) and can be a little difficult to find

Staff was English speaker which was really good, they were very friendly

Scala de Faro is a small, historic boutique hotel in Chania, Crete

Because it is fairly small and is in a very old building, you will have to walk a flight of stairs to get to the rooms and the small elevator (although there is accommodation for the handicapped)
