Description

Green and compact hotel is located on the long shingle beach of the island. Perfect for young people and for families with children.

Built: 1992

Renovated: 2011

Location: 25 km from Heraklion airport, 500 m from the centre of Hersonissos.

Consists of one 3-storey building.

The hotel has 162 rooms.

Total area: 4 000 m2.

Beach: public sand and pebble beach 30 m from the hotel (1st coastal line). Umbrellas, sunbeds by the pool – free of charge. Umbrellas, sunbeds on the beach – fee. Towels – for a fee (2 €). The beach is 4 km away.

Accepted credit cards: Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Maestro.

Pets are not allowed.

The hotel offers food: Breakfast, half Board plus (during dinner, drinks included), and all-inclusive (10:00-22:00). Breakfast (07:30-10:00), lunch (12:30-14:00) and dinner (19:00-21:30) in the main restaurant. All-inclusive: alcoholic and soft local beverages, tea/coffee and cakes (15:30-17:30).

We recently stayed for 14 nights and really liked the hotel. We didn't use the beach or pool so cannot comment on that. We had room 402 which was lovely and spacious for the two of us with a nice size balcony and bathroom. Tv and fridge too. There is a safe at a cost of €4 a day and AC which was free. The hotel is situated in the town itself but is lovely and quiet. Staff were welcoming and accommodating apart from one or two of the girls/women on the front desk who seemed to have abit of an attitude.
We stayed half board but probably only ate there a handful of times. Food was fine but not much rotation in choice throughout the week so we ate out.
Tourist tax was €10 euros per night.

If I could give zero stars, I would. The room reeked of mold and cigarettes. Even the air conditioning spews out moldy smelling air. The buffet food was abysmal and even basic comforts came with a price tag - coffee other than drip coffee costs extra, as do beach chairs. Despite charging €120 a night (which is absolutely absurd given the conditions) the hotel doesn’t even provide shampoo, conditioner, body wash, or hand soap. The complimentary bottle of wine tasted disturbingly like iron and blood. Adding to the disappointment: no housekeeping on Sundays (I didn’t even know this was a thing) and tiny elevators (expect to take the stairs). Also, it’s a TUI tour group spot so expect it to be crowded with large groups.

Golden Beach is a perfect example of how high prices and low standards can coexist. Save your money and sanity - there are far better places nearby that actually care about cleanliness, comfort, and basic hospitality.

Brilliant hotel, stayed here 7 nights and no complaints whatsoever! Brilliant view, room was clean and staff were very friendly. Great location with lots of shops around within walking distance. The food buffet had a variety of items with the dinner items changing each evening for extra variety. Brilliant hotel and highly recommend the sea view room!

We stayed for 7 nights in early August,the staffs are all extremely friendly and helpful. We stayed in room 513 and the housemaid is a super sweet and warm and lovely lady, please send my greetings to her again and Kevin the young waiter in the restaurant by this message😄.
Thank you for giving us such a big room with a balcony.
We had a late flight home and the hotel still let us to use the pool and a shower room after we have checked out.🙏🏼
Our breakfast and dinner are included, the main courses are Greek cousines,they change it everyday, I really enjoyed the food and always got full. This lovely beautiful hotel deserves a 4 star,I really LOVE your lobby. Thank you all again,me and my 2 kids really miss this place

Rarely writing reviews but this hotel is the best! I can tell, od course, just from my experience! Best hotel ever! It justifies every single money spent on it. It's super clean, nothing is abandoned or neglected from the property. Also very friendly staff, they always want to help. Two guys from the reception, not sure their names, are exceptionally friendly. They helped a lot with my stay. Every recommendation and they are super friendly, like they are friends not just staff. Whole impression is this hotel has soul. I mean, it's not the domestic atmosphere, expect more formal attitude but for this kind of hotel less formal than you'd expect.

Hotel clean, majority of staff were friendly.
Unfortunately the food let it down, far from impressed on seeing the food crawling with flies, so ended up eating else where not what you want when you have already paid for half board!!!

Nice place, if you are smiling everyone around you are also smiling, friendly people, you can always talk about your probléms, if you think that is small room they will find solution for you, food is fresh, i love salades, vagatables and feta cheese or you have to try black olives, amazing
