It has a long history and is located in a wonderful area, close to the town which is brilliant
• Location (5 out of 5): Perfectly placed. Close enough to the town for quick visits, but far enough that you're enveloped in peace and tranquility
This is my 4th visit to Creta Palace, my husband went many times, throughout his teens and early adulthood. We have two children, at the time of travel were 5 and 8. We have visited Creta Palace in 2022, 2023 and 2025
This is a truly honest review of the resort and we hope many will find it helpful. Creta Palace is one of the most charming resorts
Its not the hotel's fault - people just need to be mindful of others and just take what they need! Beach is amazing and I spent more time there this holiday. It was perfect and had the same level of bar service etc
Our last visit in August 2025 was different to the previous years, in that the hotel has clearly made investments in areas and there are improvements, to an already 5* hotel, but these did not go unnoticed

We stayed for a week here recently and had a great time, great location with just short walk into town. Staff are friendly and happy to answer any questions. We had bed and breakfast only but this was more than enough
Really comfy hotel room. Friendly check in and helpful staff. Nice location short walk to the beach. Sea view from balcony. Delicious breakfast!
A large hotel with usual facilities. Room was fine, though shower needs improvement as it wets the bathroom floor. Good choice of breakfast items. Location on main road not seafront so some road noise
Overall, we had a lovely week at this hotel. The rooms were nicely decorated, reasonably modern, and kept clean and tidy
(Though we went to the wrong hotel on arrival and they said we could use their underground car park for €7 a day)

Beautiful hotel, very well looked after and maintained. Staff were all incredibly welcoming, helpful and progressional. Setting is stunning, direct access to the beach and walkable into the old town. Perfect get away
Clean Room, staff excellent, service great, good location.
Poor breakfast and gym inadequate
Beautiful resort, clean, outstanding staff. Among the better places I’ve ever been. Highly recommended.
The staff was very friendly and the yoga teacher was excellent. The property is beautiful and the restaurant is very good. We were disappointed in the private outdoor hot tub because it really wasn't private
Fantastic beach for swimming!
Very relaxing hotel.
Everyone was very friendly and exceptionally helpful
It would be nice if they would change it up with different options. Also,
Maybe try covering up the fruits because there was nats flying around and landing on the fruit which was gross

As regards food, we tended to have dinner out (it’s only a 5 minute taxi ride to the old town and there’s a rank about 20m from the hotel) but the pool bar was good for lunches and the buffet breakfasts in the restaurant were excellent
The sunbeds on the beach are free, however we found that more sunbeds had been added since last year and now too close together. We decided to walk 2 minutes down the beach and pay 7 Euros for more space and comfort
There’s also a water sports kiosk only 20m away, for parasailing, jet skis etc. The hotel has a nice pool (although a bit fresh!) and the week we were there, there was never any trouble in getting loungers
There’s lots of exploring to do in the old town. However if you wish to stay local to the hotel there are a few nice bars, taverns and shops. The hotel also provides nightly entertainment
Alternatively you can use the local bus or taxis available from outside the hotel. The hotel is kept clean and tidy. The rooms and beds are comfortable and we slept really well
This was our second visit to this lovely hotel. The hotel is situated across the road from the beach, with an approximate 30-40 minute flat walk to the old town of Rethymnon
Rethymno, Ari Velouchioti Street 28 (2 km from centre) 🧭 Map
The location is also very good, right by the sea, opposite the beach is nice, there are two swimming pools in the hotel, the children had a lot of fun playing in the water
Wonderful hotel in good location. Just a short walk to the old town for shopping, dinning, etc.
The staff were absolutely brilliant. So helpful and friendly.
Room was so comfy, lush decor and really relaxing. Food was gorgeous. All fantastic and really reasonable, affordable price. Thank you!
Great spot if you plan on taking a ferry to santorini, its a 20 minute walk. Breakfast was nice here. Only downside was paper thin walls on the first floor, youll be able to hear your neighbors if they are loud!
The location is good, offering easy access to the charming town of Rethymnon, with its sites and vibrant atmosphere, 30 minutes from Old town by foot
We enjoyed our stay here. The buffet breakfast and dinner were excellent. We are vegan and could always find healthy options. The staff are very professional and helpful. We also enjoyed the private beach.

He always made a point to come talk to us and was very kind. I will also mention that my boyfriend was sick overnight and they offered to make him soup and checked in with him throughout the day which really meant a lot
First I would like to recognize the staff members that stood out and made our vacation enjoyable. Kalliope (front desk ), Michalis (bartender), Mr Theo (maitre) , Vaso (server) and the household staff
I have so many wonderful things to say but I will start with the bartender Michael. He is extremely skilled at making drinks that are both delicious and aesthetically pleasing. He has a clear passion for what he does
He always engaged in conversation and was happy to explain different drinks to me and I really enjoyed the rapport we had. Also Kalliopi the receptionist is extremely friendly and approachable
She was extremely helpful in coordinating transportation for us and I really enjoyed talking to her. Finally, Theodoris the maître d’ was very warm and hospitable
The hotel itself is beautiful and well kept, the room was spacious and the housekeepers did a very good job keeping our room clean throughout the week

The pool is small, but it is really okay. The problem is that some guests put towels so early and they are not even there to swim! The pool is for everyone who wants to swim, but many can't swim, for example, children
Personnel are very friendly, our room is clean. It has space in between, like two single beds together, and it's moving all the time. My child's bed is just a folding bed. I expected to be at least bed sofa-bed
Some complaints about it, and management didn't do anything about it. Maybe they can at least put some rules that no reservations in the pool, no leaving of towels when the person is not there
I have never experienced such a good food offering in a hotel before and could not find a single item that I disliked. I definitely plan on coming back and fully recommend it
Anyway, the food was great, the best delicious food from breakfast to dinner! I hope they can change the pool rules soon. Thanks for our great holiday season!
The rooms are structured like a little village, making for a cozy feeling and the buffets for breakfast and dinner are straight-up amazing

They have a kettle and a coffee filter - here, maybe they can upgrade to a more modern coffee machine (like the ones with pods), cutlery and plates. So if you want to cook small dishes, maybe is enough
Beds were very comfortable and quite large. Service: staff and management were very nice and attentive. Maybe 2-3 bottles with water in the room on arrival will be nice for a 4* hotel. Pool: spacious enough and clean
We had a medium fridge, good enough to keep some food to eat in the room and few bottles of water. They even have an electric stove, one frying pan and medium saucepan, but we never used
Service is great, the room service girls will help cater to your needs. Thank you everyone at Archipelagos Residence for making my stay in Rethymno wonderful & contributing to my impressive photo collection
An excellent hotel with very spacious rooms. The hotel is situated on a hillside with 3 separate lifts. The hotel has a small beach directly in front over the road which is really nice.
We enjoyed our Rethymno holiday on Archipelagos Hotel. Location: 10-15 minutes walk from Rethymno Old Town (main area to hang around in Rethymno. Room: quite modern, spacious and cleaned every day

Evening meal time there seems to be cats everywhere and for me this a huge No No , not only unhygienic it's not appropiate while people are eating , for me personally being allergic to cats I really don't want to eat here
Just Got back from a 11 Day Stay Here, With My Husband, Enjoyed Our Stay , Rooms Were Very Spacious and Clean , Breakfast was Very Good, And Most Of The Staff Were Lovely, I Would Have To Be Honest, We Found The Older Barman Not The Most Welcome, But Everyone Else was
Room was great, not lavish but spotlessly clean and well appointed with everything you need and so much space
The pools were great, some reviews complain about finding a sunbed but we did not find this to be the case, perhaps it depends on other guests. At the beginning of our stay the sunbeds by the main pool were taken by 7
The included breakfast in the restaurant is good and we chose to eat there two evenings too to pay for dinner and that was also great and well priced
There is a well stocked shop onsite but also a big supermarket less than 5mins walk away, between them you can find everything you need
The entertainments were goof and children enjoyed the soft play area and other little bits put on by the reps
We were not able to attend the greek night in the hotel but found one running several nights a week in a restaurant near the roundabout just 5mins away

For the return trip we used a taxi for 6 Euro because it was 35-40 °C when we visited. The hotel is quiet, because located at the edge of town near a forest. We loved Forest Park and can recommend it
A lovely little hotel in Rethymno. It's located on a hill, so you should be reasonably fit or have a car. Great view. Friendly staff. Breakfast and dinner were just okay.
It was a great experience to stay here, the hotel is located on a beautiful hill with a lovely view, surrounded by forest. Within 10 minutes you are downtown in Rethymnon
Great hotel with very nice location in the town with a awesome view. Comfy beds, nice breakfast and pool bar. Totally recommended!
Wonderful location. Awesome views and very clean. Recommend it.
Great hotel with its own parking. There is a swimming pool and a great view of the city and the sea. Awesome diverse breakfast buffet. There is a game room, that we use to play chess and a gym (we didn't use it)

Beautiful, serene, traditional-feeling, non-commercial, lovely staff, location is incredible. Turtles hatching on the beach 5 minutes away. Opposite of mass tourism and totally relaxing. I loved it.
Personalised service. Very nice location. Superb garden and Architectural Design of the Hotel. Local organic products of prime quality in the breakfast service: real yogurt, organic eggs, tasty creatan feta...
We had the most memorable vacation at the Mantenia hotel this Summer! The hospitality of Chrysoula and all the staff is above and beyond today's world, as they go the extra mile in everything
You will be in a great location between two major cities, Hania and Heraklion, and our favorite Rethymno. I recommend renting a car as the island is beautiful for exploring
I highly recommend, and we will be back for sure! Thank you, Crysoula, and all of you, for a wonderful vacation! 🌟💕 Mili
What surprised us: air conditioning is extra (6 euro per day), we had to leave the key at the reception when leaving the hotel (they have only one so wanted to ensure we don’t lose it) and breakfast is fully ready around 8:30-8:45am even though they say it starts at 8am (but it is a common theme across Crete it seems)
Pool and beach area very nicely done, comfortable sun loungers. Few local taverns that were good if you don’t fancy the walk into town. We needed a relaxing break and everything was very easygoing
We stayed here with our friends for our wedding and couldn’t be happier with the experience! The location is absolutely perfect — right by the beach with the most beautiful views☀️
The hotel was super clean, fresh, and beautifully maintained
We especially loved the pool area — it was such a great spot to relax and enjoy the sunshine. The service was amazing too! The staff were so friendly, helpful, and always made us feel welcome
Lunch and dinner menue also very good. We also tried the spa and the massage was exellent. We are looking forward to visit the Iperion Beach Hotel again sooner or later
Really nice room overlooking the beach and sea. Staff very friendly and has that family run vibe. Breakfast was out of this world, loads of choice and very tasty

Very thoughtful and kind staff!
Correspondive, kind reception!
Breakfast is just amazing, full of variety and plenty of food!!
Location 10/10.
Fabulous hotel.
The hotel could use a bit of renovation, but its location—and above all, the kind and attentive staff—more than make up for any shortcomings
Kalimera(Maria) is the best person in this hotel! We love her so much❤️❤️❤️
Thanks for calling us taxi🙌🏻
Pozdrav!
Ana, Petra Iva🐟
Keep in mind it's tricky to find parking spot, because of the location of the hotel
Best location, good breakfast, big beds
The location of the hotel is very good, the food is good (not many choices but still good), however the rooms are not the best (kinda old, the roof is damaged) and the towels comes dirty, changed every 3 days.

Very basic for an all guys trip. Somewhat run down. Parking is a challenge. But if you don’t plan to spend time in your room or in the hotel, it is ok. Centrally located.
This is by far the best hotel I've stayed in Greece. Very beautiful design of the room, clean, and with a bathtub. Friendly hotel receptionist. I will definitely stay here again if I visit rethymnon.
Large common areas were perfect for working. You have to walk to the sea, the historic center, or the bus station, but it's all within walking distance. There's a great supermarket across the street
There was a kettle, hot water, comfortable beds, and excellent value for money. A photo from the bed was on the TV. There's a school across the street, and kids play and make noise during the day
Stayed for nights. Located in perfect location. Walking distance to the haber and restaurants. Rooms are very comfortable.
Friendly staff. Good location and clean rooms. Really enjoyed staying at this place. Defenetly would recommend.

A very reasonably price establishment but excellent value for money in a superb central location. A small room but totally functional. Everything you need for a 1 night a short stay
The location in the old town is great, everything is near. The room was clean, with everything you need, even the iron
Fantastic hotel in the old city. Walk to minute and you are in the city. Hotel staff was there for you. Beautiful renovation, all you needed was in the room. Did not have a sea view but still a great room
One notice to people with car, you can park for free about 5-10 minutes from a hotel, there is parking space by the street right below the fortress. Also, there are paid parkings nearby
with a very cozy and clean room , it had everything we needed , we loved how convenient it was to move around. It has the cutest balcony and is accessible to everything around town
The staf was aslo very helpful! Totally recommend and we would love to stay again!!

It was very uncomfortable for the three of us. The hotel would do well to pay attention to the general coziness and order. Everything is somehow dirty and not cleaned
- sometimes the water filtering in the pool was turned of, and the water got dirty really fast. Had to complain for them to turn on circulation
we stayed at the sister hotel omiros boutique but i went to melody spa at odyssia beach for a back and neck massage with tanya - it was absolutely amazing and helped my sore back so much! definitely returning before our holiday is done, such a good experience and so handy in location right beside the hotel, beach, bar, shops etc🩵☀️
An ordinary 3-star hotel
We were on vacation with three of us for 2 weeks. Booked a room superior, as we thought that it will be larger in size, but as it turned out that they are almost all the same size, up to 20m2
I did not stay at this hotel, just been to their beach and they got the most friendly and serviceminded staff at the beach. If possible, I would give 10 stars for their effort to make every guest feel good at the beach
For 2 weeks only a couple of times there were mussels and once shrimp for dinner. Breakfasts all 14 days were the same. -There is no kettle/coffee maker in the rooms, and tea/coffee is not offered at dinner either

Amazing experience very beautiful and historical building. The location is the most convenient anyone can find.
Ms Eleni was so friendly and helpful😌 definitely going back
We slept here for 2 days as a couple and I thinks it’s a great location in this beautiful city. Also, the bar is directly located in the hotel and we had a funny night with flavoured Raki & Richard who works on the bar
Great service, amazing location and great room/balcony and beds. We will definitely return, loved it!
I have additional info for those who are inexperienced or ignorant travellers - The Venitian buildings were not built with pools or underground parking. Live with it and stop whining. You aren't back home with your mommy
No words could describe this wonderful building with is historic charm. Central to restaurants and tour operators. Originally her childhood family home, Helen now manages the property and is a delight to talk to
I have been traveling for several weeks and was hoping to rejuvenate here; I was able to do so and leave feeling fully refreshed and ready for new adventures. Thank you again for such a lovely stay!

Everything felt fresh, thoughtful, and full of local flavor. The location is unbeatable — right on the beach — making it the perfect place to relax and soak up the atmosphere
Thanks to her, we had one of the best dining experiences of our trip! The food at the hotel itself was just as memorable. The homemade breakfast was absolutely delicious, and the lunch we enjoyed was also excellent
Such a beautiful hotel we had a fantastic week there. All the staff were fabulous, nothing too much trouble. Eva the manager was fabulous,so friendly and helpful. The buffet breakfast is lovely and plentiful
There are toilets and a shower available at the hotel when you are on the beach or terrace, which saves you having to go back to your room. Rethymno old town about 25 mins walk
We would get a taxi into town and take a slow walk back when it was cooler. Well worth doing as it's a beautiful town and the sunsets at the port are just amazing
Plenty of sunbeds and parasols which were free to use and lots of beach towels available all day. This was a great bonus as many places charge for sunbeds etc

The hotel is a good choice for moderate comfortable and calm vacation. Apartments include needed commodities: WiFi, conditioner and small kitchen with cutlery. Personnel is assistant and attentive
A great hotel with pretty good conditions. I spent 7 nights of vacation here and I can say that it was superb. I got a 2-room apartment, clean, well-kept, spacious balcony with a sea view
Big thanks goes to Petros for always making our stay comfortable and very welcoming
Nice hotel if you want to relax in calm and clean appartment with pool, near to the beach and restaurants. In thr center of small place with some shops, 15 min by bus to the Rethymno. I love Crete ❤️
All crew was very good, very good service, clean rooms, all very relaxing, and clean!Big 10!For the personal and the food, and the service and rooms!🥰🥰🥰I wish to comeback, you are the best! 🥇
The hotel has its own quite large swimming pool. The cleaning staff came to the room every day and cleaned and changed the dirty towels. The boy and the girl at the reception were very kind
We loved everything about our stay. Very convenient location close to a beautiful stretch of the beach, the port and the old town - Lovely mother-son team running the hotel: friendly, helpful and efficient
Always there to answer your questions and offer advice - Excellent breakfast with Cretan/Greek specialties, fresh orange juice on top of your regular continental breakfast options. CONS: Not much to complain about
We had an absolutely impeccable experience at this hotel. The accommodation was of the highest standard – spotless cleanliness, spacious and well-designed rooms, equipped with everything needed for a comfortable stay
From the water provided in the fridge on arrival, to seeing they provide an iron and can help with chargers amongst other things to the friendliness of the team it has everything you need
A lovely small family hotel that clearly care about their guests and go out of their way to help. The room was clean, tidy and more than functional with a balcony overlooking the front
Being close to the beach, shops and restaurants, with the old town about a 10 -15 minute walk away and the local bus station a little further, it’s well situated
