From the moment we arrived, the lady at reception was incredibly kind and welcoming - she made us feel at home straight away and was happy to help with anything we needed. The manager was fantastic too

Nice hotel, towels and bed sheets were old but clean. Room was spacious and tidy l. Balcony view good. Breakfast and coffee wasn't bad itself. Overall it was a good stay. Public transport is just 100-200 m away.

I had a small issue with my Expedia booking, and he sorted it out in just a few minutes - super professional, calm, and genuinely caring. The rooms were spacious, spotless, and very comfortable

Overall, everything about our stay was lovely - great people, great service, and such a positive atmosphere. We left with only the best impressions

I stayed here with my parents during a layover between two long trips, and we honestly couldn’t have asked for a better experience

Don't judge a book by its cover This hotel may be old school with dated decoration but it is spotless. The rooms are clean, the beds are new and comfortable and the staff is helpful

The location is quiet, but close to the beach (5 min), and about a 15-minute walk from restaurants and small stores. We would definitely recommend and stay here again

It was an excellent experience. Everything was very nice and clean. They have a beautiful garden and location is very close to the lake. Breakfast was also very good and tasty. Nevertheless stuff is very friendly

Lovely place, but air conditioning was limited to 23 degrees, so the room was warm

I had an hour of relaxation massage,pleasant atmosphere, and the lady was amazing. Super friendly, cheerful and attractive indeed

It is a good hotel with quiet and air-conditioned rooms. The air-conditioning is a bit weird, though, as it is located in the bathroom. The food is very good and you can take as much as you want

Now don’t get me wrong the decor is a bit jaded and could do with an upgrade but this is a small simple lakeside hotel and not a 5 star luxury complex, but when we asked for late access to the pool and the sauna after a long day out the team did not hesitate to make those arrangements for us

Decent but better hotels available. Food not that great at the hotel. Pool was fine, best part was the jacuzzi and sauna.

We arrived about 1am in the morning as our flight was delayed. The hotel staff had made arrangements for us to collect room keys securely in the night and all the communication around the arrangements were excellent

We also had early starts leaving the hotel before 7am. For the days we needed i, the team arranged a cold breakfast to take away with us and plenty of it too! Nice roles with local chews and peppers, fruit etc

We went on a sporting weekend and we understand that this really was the last weekend of the tourist season before restaurants and hotels start closing for winter

We were happy with our stay and have to say the hotel staff really went out of their way to accommodate all our requests

Nice panoramic view from upper floors. Good small rooms. Nice bathrooom. Nice indoor pool an sauna. Good restaurant. Right on the shore of lake Balaton.

I'we been visiting this hotel every summer for the third time now. It is really close to the beach, has an acceptable wellness area(good to have but not a wellness hotel. It is for winter, and bad weather)

The bathrooms have been modernised. The breakfast and dinner are acceptable. There are good restaurants in 5min distance with a car. The wifi is slow, as a sloth, ISDN style slow

But the peple are nice, if you treat them as people. I like to be there every year, and i see all the hard work and effort what they do to improve the hotel

It’s a really retro hotel, it can give you a true hungarian nostalgic feeling. Pro: very clean, next to the beach Contra: the food is bad, the staff is rude, kinda expensive It’s not worth it.

Beachside hotel at the Balaton. Supercheap, retro with all the problems that come with it. If you spend most of your time on the beach anyway or come with kids it is great

Good for an 8 because it lacked a jacuzzi. It could have had one or two, more bubbles, and more frequent water jets. There are loungers at the pool, and sunbeds and umbrellas outside

There is often a waft of sulphur if the breeze is from the thermal baths. They range in temperature from quite cool to very hot. Only the hottest has the minerals. Dressing gowns and towels are supplied

And the food? Congratulations to the chefs! Delicious! And so much of it! Something different every day, always something super tasty. Delicious freshly ground coffee, with a choice of cold or hot milk, almond or soy

With white or brown sugar and sweetener. The bread and croissants disappeared quickly because they were the best. Okay, as for the food, it's a 10. As for the pools, it's a 10 again

The key feature of this hotel is the thermal pools. There are four pools of varying temperature. Another is pleasantly warm and has an inside and outside section. These pools do not appear to be mineral spas

The other two small pools are high in mineral content and high in temperature. They say to limit your dip to 20 minutes. Outside there is a generous lawn with ample deck chairs and shade from umbrellas

We had spent only a night here. My wife and I were happy with everything. The food was nice though. This place represents really good value. I would recommend.

One of the nicest Mercure hotels I have stayed at. Very nicely appointed.

Unfortunately the pool was closed even though the weather was good (only April), but we still got to enjoy the spa area. Clean and fairly big rooms, good service and a good restaurant inside the hotel

We will return in the summer to enjoy the outdoor pool and the nice terrace

Excellent hotel with the best location. Nice and clean rooms, friendly staff, great foods. Wine tasting programms are very unique in the hotel. The sommelier is high educated

Great hotel, close to the Slovakian border and Danube river. The spa was easily accessible and included in the price of the room. The staff was professional and friendly. Room was clean and had a great view.

We went to Portobello based on a recommendation of friends, who both have 2 kids each. We asked them to recommend a good spa hotel not too far away from Budapest and Portobello came up multiple times

Frankly, there is a lot to love to about Portobello, at least there was for us. The food (we were half board, so breakfast and dinner) is really delicious, especially for what you pay for and the setting

We practically spent 3 full days in the spa area and with our then 3,5-year-old son, we simply had a blast with the all the different options the wellness area had to offer

The hotel's services are of a high standard. I can only recommend it Room service, reception and catering are of a high standard The cleanliness of the room, the well-being of the entire staff are professional

Lovely hotel by lake Balaton It was wonderful, the hotel is located just minutes from the beach, breakfast was delicious with home backed goods. The hotel has a great wellness area with whirlpools, jacuzzi and saunas

Wellness with indoor pool and outdoor jacuzzi, different type of saunas, massage, games can all provide a calm and dedicated time and relaxation. The food is delicious and include all sort of type

As a returning guest, I am still not disappointed. Friendly staff, relaxation without disturbance. Buffet restaurant with varied, delicious food. This hotel is dog-friendly, which is a plus

Medium sized hotel on the shore of Lake Balaton. Situated just opposite with the train station of Alsóörs, yet the arrival and departing trains are not disturbing

The location of the hotel is that it is in a quiet place, but still close to the center, the bus station, and the spa can be reached with a 10-15 minute walk. I recommend this accommodation to everyone

I would especially like to highlight one of the young people working there, who offered surprisingly direct, friendly, suitable places, we are used to this kind of kindness :)

I spent 3 wonderful days in Hévíz at the Sante Hotel. A small castle with a beautiful view. Fortunately, they were able to fulfill my wish at the beginning of January

The hotel is spotlessly clean, adjustable heating in the room, delicious, plentiful breakfast and very kind owners who do their work with all their heart in this gem

It thins the pair of furniture and the environment, it is very elegant, demanding and clean. I would like to recommend it to anyone with kindness, and only so on;)

Amazing service. Rooms are a dream. And the highlight is the outstanding breakfast in the morning. 15 minute walk from the lake. Cheap and fantastic.

Strange place to stay, seemingly lost in time. Very dark rooms and an odd / unknown method to access the bar or restaurant. However great squash courts and sauna/ swimming pool

English spoken by almost all staff that we dealt with. The spa was clean and has good sauna and steam rooms with jet pools and swimming, all at a good temperature

Amenities Not good. Even the advertise the pool, you can not use it for free. Need to pay

Cracked sink in the bathroom, with the cheapest handsoap/no shower gel or shampoo provided. No kettle or other tea/coffee making facilities, the minibar is super expensive

There are 2 jakuzzies and one larger pool. The saunas are nice and clean. My only problem was that there is drinking water by the saunas but there are no glasses provided

The hotel isn't a 4 star one, maximum 3. This hotel is very "old", and it seems they only spend money on maitanance if it's absolutely needed, cracked sink in the bathroom, missing tiles in the pool area, dated decor

Stayed here while driving through Hungary. Arrived late in the evening, emailed to state this and very helpful. Was quite warm and other than opening window no way to cool room. Breakfast was typical for country

Great place to stay and relax during long trip in Europe, close to motorway. Unfortunately I stayed only night hours and didn’t have the opportunity to get much more of this great hotel

The hotel is open 24/7, which was very convenient — I checked in at 4 a. The staff were friendly and helpful, there is parking available, and the breakfast was tasty

We find out this hotel on the from Türkiye to Hamburg/Germany. We enjoyed a very friendly personal in the whole hotel. The room and the restaurant inclusive personal wert very good

Clean, comfy rooms with great views. There is a nice games room with pool, ping pong and lots of board games for the family to play in the evenings. Located right in nature with lots of nice walks easily accessible

Excellent location for a relaxing romantic getaway. The rooms are clean and spacious, and there are plenty programs provided by the Hotel

If you can't afford to carry your suitcases in your hand, don't choose this hotel! The receptionist was nice, she told us everything. We spent a lot of time in many hotel rooms but this was the narrowest one

There were positive and negative experiences too. About the hotel and the room: The first surprise is the staircase: you can drag the package up there but you have to pick it up from there by hand

Very conveniently located. No need to use public transport - the entire center walked. The hotel is clean, the service is good.

Important to note that currently the hotel is undergoing renovation works so there is often construction workers and it is in essence a construction site. This meant some mornings there was construction noises happening

My friend and I where here for 3 days city break. Near to most tourist attractions. Staff where very friendly and helpful. It's a basic hotel but very clean and beds are comfortable. I would certainly stay here again

We brought this to the attention of the staff - some were completely unaware and shocked that this was the case. One woman said she was aware but that there was nothing they can do

The city center area is convenient for travel. The facilities are relatively old, but the service is very warm

The room was perfect. Large, with comfortable mattresses, and very clean. Breakfast was limited, but acceptable.

But anyway we just needed maximum 30 minutes to the city center as the bus stop is 3 Minutes away and the tram 8 minutes by walk. If I am coming again to Budapest I would stay there again! :) Thank you

I came here on a business trip and it was great. It was worth the price.

Inside door to separate the room from the hall door, which helps a lot with the noise. Good water for shower, hangers in the wardrobe, clean & fresh towels and linen

It was amazing! The staff was super nice, the breakfast perfect - I loved this Paprika sausage, and the rooms clean and charming. Check in went easy and it’s great that the parking is included

I cannot find any flaw to the Hotel. The rooms are clean, the breakfast is delicious and the staff is competitive and polite. Highly recommend

Very nice hotel, staff, and clealiness but a bit off the beaten path. There's almost nowhere to go in walking distane and the sign says bar and restaurant but they only have breakfast

The saunas/spa were generally a bit disappointing, half were turned off when we were there in August, with only two (not that) hot pools

I would like to mention that as far as I know, only this, the hotel provides passes to the lake for the entire duration of stay including stay at the lake all day, when the lake is open to the public, you can go to the area of the lake and exit times as you want, as well as usage of sauna, Jacuzzi, etc

The hotel is in a fantastic location. Literally 3 minutes from the lake. The staff is very professional and helpful. The rooms are clean and spacious. The meals are in a form of a buffet with a wide variety of choices

The hotel is very close to the entrance to lake hévíz, just 2-3 mins slow walk. Ideal for those who want to relax and get treatment. Quiet, cozy place, surrounded by centuries-old plane trees

The only issues we had were other loud guests standing in the hallways just talking at late times 2/3am and the hotel isn’t actually in the city centre like it says but there is travel nearby and Uber prices were 10 and under

This year i made a sudden decision to make my stay in this hotel longer by one more day in the morning of checking out and as there was one last room available, i was happy that i don't need to leave my room at all and situation was solved within minutes

I stayed in this hotel first time last year in June and again second time this year during summer. I chose this hotel because of close location to Nepliget bus station, which is very close by walk from this hotel

Also think of bringing lighter pjs than the ones you have cause their heating system is one of the most effective ones (it feels like two different worlds the inside and the outside of the hotel)

Such an incredible hotel, in such a lovely part of the city. Next to tram 1 and very close to one of the main stations of Budapest (Nepliget) it is simply the perfect spot for your stay

So on the way back to the airport i asked random taxi near the closest metro station. At night one driver offered 20,000HUF , but in the morning i found other for 10,000HUF

Bikes available to use, and in summer season you can rent SUP as well. They have a nice playground and a small outdoor kids pool

We are returnees to this hotel for various reasons. It is nice and quiet even in high season and has a private Balaton beach. The kitchen staff is very accommodating to requests, and other staff is also very helpful

This hotel is a complete throw back, stay here and go back in time 30 years. The food is hearty, the staff friendly (I got to learn some Hungarian from one of the wait staff)

Their private beach is nice as well, though open to the public, it is never crowded. Really great value for the money! My only complaint, is that the coffee at breakfast is really bad 😀

The only hotel in Balatonalmadi that is right on the Balaton bike trail and has its own beach front. You can also rent SUP and the staff is super nice

The hotel belongs to one of the universities so staying here you also support young people

(The bathroom felt makeshift, with the shower and the rest of the room connected to the floor, so water kept running down the sink. Also, the closet door on the ceiling didn't close, so I had to sleep with it open

Great location. We just walked to the Opera House and the Cathedral. Front desk were friendly and helpful. The breakfast was excellent and everyday something different was served. I would stay here again.

It's in an old building with high ceilings, a beautiful entrance and staircase. The windows faced the inner courtyard, so the room was quiet, but earplugs were thoughtfully provided

It seems that all you have to do is call the front desk from the auto-lock machine when you arrive. There is always someone at the front desk, which gives you a sense of security
