The hotel is located right in front of the ferry exit but far from the city center, shops and restaurants. We were greeted by a very rude employee who gave us incorrect information and didn't give us any other information, which completely ruined our trip. When we returned to the hotel at night to take a shower and go to dinner, the bathroom was clogged, it was very difficult!!! At that time, a great employee helped us, the hotel shouldn't lose people like that. And the pool bar closes super early, so... go to sleep.

Staff are rude, breakfast is awful definitely give you food position. I would avoid this hotel. Rooms don't look like photos, very disappointed for what I paid

It wasn’t terrible but I definitely wouldn’t book again. Location wise - it is on the port so good to access the beach and ferry, however, you have to walk up ++stairs to get to the main town where restaurants and shops are. I do not believe that the room itself was worth the amount we paid. This was one of the most nicest/expensive accomodations of our trip and we were so excited for our stay here. Our room had mould in the shower, the shower door did not close properly and the bed was hard it felt like a plinth. I attempted to discuss this further with the staff regarding a change of room with no success or alternative solution to my concerns. Other than that, having breakfast included was good and most of the other staff we interacted with were really friendly and helpful. Overall, I wouldn’t recommend Hotel Il Faro to any of my family or friends visiting Sorrento.

I would think with the pictures showing a pool and daybeds these would be free but when we got there they told us they are 15euro each day to use even though we are hotel guests. The reason we chose a hotel with a pool rather than paying for 1 at the beach. Very disappointed.
The showers are very small we aren’t big people and found it hard showering.
Balcony was good as could rinse clothes and dry outside but just placed over the chairs.
No kettle in the room but can get free coffee with breakfast. Breakfast was included which was great.
Scrambled eggs, ham, cheese, danishes, juice and coffee.
Location was great coming off the ferry as right at the port with luggage.
If going to town it’s a big stair case up to the top or you can walk along the beach to the lift down the road which is 2 euro to use.
The bar upstairs has amazing sunsets, lovely watching the sun go down and they have a DJ playing lovely slow singing music which all generations could enjoy. The drinks are slightly priced at the bar though.
The restaurant at bottom of hotel was great. 7 euro Margherita pizza and you get 10% off being a hotel guest.
I would probably next time stay in town as closer to everything but I like walking and hiking for exercise so the big staircase worked for me but wouldn’t for lots of people. I think the hotel may of said they have free taxi to town but not 100 % sure.

The hotel rooms were extremely small for the price we paid, we had access to a tiny little table in our room, which really didn’t give us the chance to actually put anything on it. Don’t fall for the swimming pool, because you will have to pay for it. 15 euros for a subbed, and if you just want to sit at the bar to chill, you have to consume. The room was clean, but the beds were also extremely uncomfortable. Being the hotel by the port, it was hard to get to the centre, we had to pay 1 euro to get a lift to the centre for each time we wanted to go, which turned out to be every evening, as there is only one restaurant by the port and nothing else to do. For that price there is definitely much better places to stay, and in the centre!

This hotel is in an amazing location, it has beautiful views (depending on your room location) an amazing staff and I personally love the little cats that roam around the streets near the hotel! Unfortunately the pool seemed to be closed while we visited, we tried to access it but it was all locked. The hotel could really use some love, it just seemed a little run down but it definitely has potential. The beds are very hard and you have to ask to have the air turned on in your room but because it’s so humid there the rooms really don’t seem to get very cool and it makes for a slight uncomfortable experience. You also have to turn in your room key to the desk person every single time you leave the hotel and it feels like if you come in late you’re being an inconvenience. Our biggest struggle was our room had zero service and the WiFi didn’t seem to reach our room so we had to go outside if we wanted to use our phones. The staff really was so friendly and we adored them so I don’t blame them for any of our issues, the hotel just needs a little updating/facelifts.

The photos are either altered or of a single updated room. The hotel is overall very dated, rooms look surface level clean, beds are clearly very old. Would not recommend this hotel to anyone.
