Also the pool was kept immaculate and there was a little pool bar bar selling drinks and snacks. Our rooms were kept sparkling clean every day

We had two weeks at the Wave hotel this August and had a brilliant time. All of the staff were very friendly and efficient. Nothing was too much trouble for them

We had a lovely breakfast every day and there was a good selection of different foods. We ate a the restaurant in the evening and it was very good

The balcony had clear views of Mount Etna where at night, a slight lava flow from the volcano can be seen. Good Breakfast was served by welcoming and friendly staff and was of good variety and quality

A short walk down to the bay and there are delightful restaurants/cafes and bars. Perfect coffee is available at most places. The hotel is peaceful and well-organised in a good old-fashioned way

The hotel is magnificent, with a beautiful little garden and corridors. The staff speaks excellent English, making communication easy. They are warm, friendly, and very helpful. The 24-hour front desk is a rare find

Not too far to walk to the train station , about 15 mins and the bus stop for the Alibus to the airport was about 7 min walk

Fantastic hotel on the Cyclops seafront in Acitrezza. The terrace restaurant where breakfast is served is excellent. For those who don't want to stay overnight, there are restaurants and bars within walking distance.

The one small thing I did not like is the following: their website advertises a whirlpool in the room. However, there is just a regular sized bathtub with jets. This is certainly no whirlPOOL

Nice hotel directly at the sea in quiet location with big rooms if you go for the bigger rooms. Breakfast buffet is very nice as well

When we entered the room, we were greeted with a bottle of prosecco as a gift from the owner which was lovely! The room was very clean, the staff was kind to us and even helped us rent a car for a fair price

The breakfast was great with plenty of choice- from eggs to cakes

Staying here as a transit point to Syracuse and Taormina, the hotel is conveniently located near various attractions and shopping streets, though a bit far from the train station

The front desk staff were very friendly, welcoming, and patient. The breakfast was also delicious. The rooms were relatively spacious

The room was very big and it was the only 4-star hotel I stayed in Italy that provided disposable slippers, and they were of very good quality. I stayed in 16 4-star hotels in Italy in one month

The hotel does not have free parking, and you need to pay to park in a nearby commercial parking lot. The description of the Ctrip booking that there is a parking lot is misleading.

Cleanliness throughout the hotel was top notch (apart from the strange choice of a cream carpet on the landings!) and housekeeping was excellent, even topping up the water level in our lavazza machine! Fresh bed linen and towels daily and whilst the bathroom was rather small it was very well appointed and the marble tiling was simply beautiful

Beautiful hotel in a convenient but quiet area right behind the duomo! The staff was very helpful, especially when I had to ask for advice during a train strike. The room was a nice size and beautifully decorated

What made our stay here the most memorable was the outstanding service. This includes the reception, housekeeping, breakfast and bar. Also, the quality of the room and location are excellent. Will recommend highly!!!

The only thing that bothered us is an automatic light that was turning on at night from the mini bar station in the room on your way to the bathroom. The staff was really helpful and deactivated that light when ask

We even saw the concierge, I believe his name is Andreas, walk a sick guest all the way to the pharmacy to help her. The breakfast was delicious, beds are comfortable, rooms are quiet and the location was also excellent

30pm but the hotel also allowed us to use the beach and facilities for the day after we had checked out at 10am. This took away a huge stress for us, and gave us an extra day of enjoyable holiday

The beach is fantastic and the breakfast is great. Everything gets charged to your room onsite so lunch, dinner, drinks, snacks which is really nice

Due to plane times, we arrived 3 hours before check in but could store our luggage, change into swimming gear, and use the hotel beach and facilities before we had officially checked in at 2pm

Sea view room. View was good. Could hear the waves crashing through the night.

Overall a great stay for the price. Saying it’s a 4 star hotel is a bit of a stretch. There was a tiny hole in the ceiling and water damage on some of the floor but the balcony with a view was great

Traditional Hotel, very nice staff, from reception to restaurant (good food). They also have a pool in case you want to take a break from going around

To be honest we didn’t get back until late from watching the volcano each night, so this didn’t bother us at all, but i would say if you are affected by noise and the nightclub has an event on, then definitely don’t book a sea view room and opt for a room at the back of the grounds! Otherwise its excellent and we had a great stay

Our room did not have sea view. The main problem was the breakfast: it was poor for a 4 stars hotel

The location is far enough from the 'main street' of Stromboli to be peaceful, but a ten minute walk will get you into the action - such as it is on Stromboli. The manager was completely focused on our being satisfied

Can’t wait to return to Stromboli! Also there is a great boutique shop just down the beachfront from the hotel, Gioacchino

Provided good suggestions for boat tours and were very responsive when planning the trip

Staff were very accommodating. Room was in new building, with great amenities. Easy parking. On-site dining excellent. Great spot for a Mt Etna excursion.

The Gatto blue restaurant was really good not so expensive in regard to other place we visit in Sicily. Globally the customer experience was delightful

Stay only for one night, but was very impressed. The outdoor area was lovely and I really liked the jacuzzi even though I did not go into it

Room at the 4th floor was large and practical. Terrasse view to the Etna north face is amazing. Welcoming staff with great care

Myself and my girlfriend stayed her for a short (a few days) trip in Ortigia, and the experience was great. The location is amazing, right on the beachfront near everything, and the staff go above and beyond

The Domus Mariae Albergo was an exceptional find! The staff was friendly and extremely helpful in finding parking (an issue in Ortigia), recommending sites to see as well as authentic restaurants patronized by the locals

We weren't the easiest guests im sure, we had many small, but persistent requests and the staff were consistently friendly, and more than happy to meet our requests with grace and enthusiasm

I can't comment on breakfast, as we opted to have brunch at a nearby Bistro, but this is in no way a comment on the breakfasts at the hotel; this is simply how we like to holiday

The room was great, the only thing I wanted more was a kettle. The staff was lovely and the hotel is in a good area, on the beautiful island of Ortigia!

Great. Pool with sea water, sunbeds and umbrellas. There is a ladder to enter the sea.

I had the most delightful time at the Arathena Rocks hotel. My room was most comfortable with a balcony affording the most wonderful sea views

We didn’t use a taxi but the sign at Taormina bus station said €30 to Naxos so not sure if there is a cheaper option * transfer from Catania airport was 45 mins and I used Transfeero and cost €92 , I also used them to back to Catania city for a night there and it was also €92 * the main bus terminal is really just another bus stop and similar distance to walk to as the one in the town but a nicer walk...

We had an impromptu stay here for a couple of nights. The staff were exceptionally kind and helpful. The room was lovely with a view of the sea and breakfast was delicious.

We arrived at the hotel where we were greeted by the reception staff who were very polite and pleasant and they checked us in quickly and with clear directions to our room and instructions on where to get breakfast and the roof top restaurant

The food was amazing and the continental breakfast was more than adequate. The room was clean and comfortable and all staff friendly and helpful. Reception took care of taxis to and from the city and to the airport

An excellent hotel with stunning views from the pool area. Free parking is also available. The rooms are spacious and clean. The buffet breakfast and a la carte dishes were of a high quality

(And in good weather distant views of etna) Pool area is great and parking is fine (which is so important in Sicily) However there was a degree of disinterest of staff with paying guests

We did not feel welcome here. Staff not friendly. It was mid-May and the pool had no services, towels or anyone nearby. We were glad we only stayed here one night.

Pool area is spotless! Continental breakfast has very good choices and the wait staff can’t do enough for you! Our room was ok… we were told that we would have fresh beach towels every 3rd day which we did not

At first breakfast seems very delicious and various but up close the scrambled eggs is made from powder, omelette and sausages are cold, only black tea to choose from, I didn’t see plant milk, no wholemeal or multigrain bread or ciabatta - only cheap white rolls and toasted bread, too many sweets, too little proteins and healthy food

For this price I expected more especially for included breakfast. Of course the view is beautiful and rooms are comfortable, new and clean. The staff is very kind and helpful

A place to stop a couple of nights, not in an ideal location. If you’re into fish, go for it. Abandoned vehicles outside the rear entrance. No tea/coffee making which is a shame. Outdoor pool and bar services food 🥘

A basic hotel italys four star more like a three star South African version. But the rooms were spotless and clean and the swimming pool was incredible

We are an older couple and this saved us a few steps uphill!! The hotel swimming pool and jacuzzi are surrounded by sunbeds. Towels are obtained from the restaurant (same level as pool), and you have to sign for them

Excellent apartments right on a private beach. The apartments are not modern, but functional. Secure private parking right next to the apartments. A large pool with a restaurant are located only a short walk away

The beach has two sections - one with large pebbles, and one with coarse sand. The water is a perfect temperature. Note that in late August/early September, the weather can be unstable

We had a few consecutive days of cool windy weather, so swimming was not really an option due to rough seas

There is no shopping district within walking distance, and only a couple of restaurants. If you want to take a stroll in the evening, the beach is the only option, if you don't mind lots of pebbles in your shoes

We were so happy we picked this hotel! The staff was so lovely and the pool was incredible! The location is great too. We would get a granita and brioche brunch at Arte e Sapporo and then lounge by the pool

Also, how can you not love this pool? Only opportunity for improvement is a shuttle service of some sort to the ferries, the hotel is a bit of a walk uphill from the station and central Lipari

The staff were all very friendly and helpful. They spoke English if required. Very clean with plenty of bubbles. We only ate breakfast which was the same every day. Cold meat and cheese predominantly

Right on the beach! Location close to Montalbano's house and the restaurant he ate at in the tv show. Lovely restaurants by the sea nearby (by the Montalbano house), it's a 25 min walk. The breakfast is very simple

I have stayed in two rooms , one on the 1st floor with a view on the street (you can sleep just fine ). The other on the 4th floor with a view on the backyard

It was quieter due to the off season, but it was fully booked on weekends.

The hotel was recommended to me by a friend. The location is parallel to the seafront, but it does have convenient parking. The staff is very friendly, and the hotel is very clean and tidy

We fell in love! Family with 2 little girls, very spacious, clean, comfortable room, it looked newly renovated! Okay for the budget this is a well located hotel particularly if you are coming from the train or the ferry - from train station it is just over 1 block and so no need for a taxi or bus to get to the hotel The staff are helpful (italian helpful) and again the location is really good - the lobby large and rooms a good size Again it’s like stepping back in time - most of Sicily feels that way which...

The shower was newly renovated and very comfortable and spacious. Location is great, just 7 minutes walk to main Piazza in Messina. Very close to the train station as well

Rooms are outdated, hallways had old and dirty carpets but the people at the reception are friendly and even offered a free upgrade to one of the rooms. Location is really good in the center of the city
