The room size is standard for Japan. There is a man-made hot spring with a good variety of shampoo and bath products available. The breakfast is standard—nothing special, but decent overall. Only one type of sashimi (squid) is offered. A convenience store is located right next door, just 1–2 minutes’ walk away, which is very convenient.

Having a large public bath is a big plus. A trip to Hokkaido in the cold winter wouldn't be complete without a large public bath. The breakfast was also very generous. Hakodate will definitely be on my list of places to visit again.

Overall the location is good, near MRT though the room is small which is normal in Japan. The breakfast is simple and it is nice with good taste. It is just across the street from Kitami Station. You can see it when you look up after exiting the station. There is a stamping area in the hotel lobby. The lamb mascot is very cute, and the children's tableware for breakfast is also lamb.

It was clean, and the room was compact but easy to use (you can easily open a 60L carry-on bag). Kitami is a small town, so the restaurants are within walking distance. If you're using the bus or train, this is the place to go.

I really enjoyed this hot spring hotel. On Mondays, it was so crowded that the entire place was practically reserved. It's said that the former shogunate soldier, Hijikata, bathed there. The water is a saline spring. The dinner was rich and delicious, especially the stew. It was perfect for enjoying a leisurely meal while looking out at the sea.
