I think almost all my stays at Dormy Inns in Japan has been great.

Location is average as a whole, 500m ish walking distance to the train station which is perfectly fine except when it's winter. The good thing however is the breakfast, free ramen at night, free ice cream, free probiotic drink in the morning. Room is also fairly reasonably large compared to Tokyo rooms.

Enjoyed my stay at Lifort Hotel Sapporo for 5 nights. The hotel has a 4-star feel, and while the facilities are slightly older, the stay was still comfortable. Smooth check-in and check-out, nearby convenience store, parking at 1,000 yen per day, and a great location next to Nakajima Park. Variety of western and japanese breakfast. Although there are shopping malls nearby, most of the restaurants were already closed by the evening of my arrival, and there weren't many people around.
