For its affordable price, the facilities are decent, and the service is surprisingly good. It's a great place to stay when you're traveling.
A good place — workers on reception were helpful and kind. I liked the underground lounge zone with free drinks. Room was normal and warm. Recommend it!
We stayed 2 nights and we got a nice room on the 11th floor. Rooms are large for Japan standard, you can have space for 2 big luggage’s on the floor. Upon arrival they offered us a drink and they have a nice lounge at the basement. Room is great, bathroom was quite moldy. Staff speak very good English and the location is amazing near the shopping street area and 2 stations from Kyoto station.
very close to a bus station with a family mart right across the street, convenient location to city center, could be better with more washing machine and dryer units but front desk assisted well with clearing unclaimed laundry, very cozy room and pretty deco, free drinks in basement with a cafe to purchase drinks and food
Good location. At the front of the hotel, there is a Family Mart and it is close to the train station. The area is so nice, and there are a lot of restaurants. The service is really good, and it has a lot of amenities.
The bed was 3/5. Not comfortable enough. Everything else was fine.

The room is OK, with a normal Japanese layout, but the price/performance ratio is not high, especially if the window is not facing the Kamo River, it is just an ordinary Japanese hotel
I stayed at this hotel in 2016. This time I booked it for my friend. It still feels a bit old. It's quite comfortable to walk along the nearby Kamogawa River, and the sanitation is also very clean.
Ryokan 10 minutes from the metro, relatively clean and quiet. Friendly, attentive staff but speaking little English. The room is clean but small for 4. Considering the services, the onsen not working, it is relatively expensive because a little out of the way
A few girls were traveling together, and because they were booked too late, there were not many Japanese-style hotels to choose from. This one pretty much meets our requirements.
The ladies at the front desk were lovely and the rooms were beautiful!
with my friends we spent two nights in the Tazuru ryokan because we particularly wanted to try this kind of experience, in full Japanese style. Considering the place, the view and the beauty of the hotel I think it's well worth the money.

Overall it’s a very nice hotel. Centralized location.
For nearly 8,000 CNY a night, my high expectations were thoroughly dashed. 1. There was a noticeable difference in how the front desk treated foreign guests versus locals; during check-in, foreigners received an almost 'kneeling' level of deference. The hotel is small, and its only appeal comes from the scenery outside the teahouse. 2. The rooms are dated, minibar items were not complimentary, and...
Nice environment, with a private hot spring bath.
Very helpful when book restaurants for us. highly recommended.
The hotel is nested in a quiet corner, within walking distance of Sagaogurayama Tabuchiyamacho. Im however a bit disappointed with the limited facilites it offered when compared to the price we paid. We stayed in the Tsukinone Twin Room which is on the third floor of the building. The view is pleasant. The room is of decent size. Yet there were no public onsens. We need to pay YEN5000 for ...
The hotel service was top-notch, and the room facilities were excellent. Having tattoos, I opted for a room with a private hot spring, and the environment was wonderfully private and comfortable.

We enjoyed staying there. The staffs were very friendly and helpful. They also have free bus service to some important tourist spots. Best location for a family vacation.
This is my second stay at Monday Hotel by Kyoto Imperial Palace, and I'm very impressed with its facilities and convenience. I particularly enjoy staying at Monday Hotel because I prefer the Kamo River area near Kyoto University. Firstly, its proximity to Kyoto Imperial Palace is a huge plus, making it incredibly convenient to visit, especially in the early morning or evening, as I can go anytime I...
Convenient location. 3 mins walk to metro , supermarket and  restaurants nearby. Close to the Kyoto palace and museum.  Room clean and staff are friendly. The best thing is they have free bus to the bamboo forest and a temple. Would recommend!
Location is too far from major attractions, room is clean and enough space. Only the problem is no coffee supply and only have tea bags not too much selected. Other amenities supply limited less selection
Nice, clean, spacious room. Muslim friendly hotel which provides sajadah and compass for Qiblat. Near the station. Nice area. Recommended. Good price for Kyoto.
Very good to have free shuttle service to 2 different locations. This is a must have when in kyoto. Breakfast is very limited choice. You can buy from the Coop mart 2 doors away. Bus stop, taxi stand and train station is very nearby. Staff speak English!

Clean and tidy room with nice breakfast. Very local cuisine style of breakfast with some western style bread.
Conveniently located, just a 2-minute walk to the subway station. The room size was perfectly adequate for one person, which is good considering Japanese rooms are typically small. The bathtub was also comfortable for a soak. The only downside was the rather mediocre breakfast.
Room is clean and hotel is near to subway station. Highly recommended to those who wanna stay in Kyoto. Free green tea and coffee available as well.
The coffee machine at the entrance offers great sports drinks that are refreshing and quench your thirst, and the service is excellent. The location is also fantastic, making it easy to quickly transfer to the subway. Plus, it's super convenient to borrow an umbrella from the front desk when it rains – huge bonus! Kyoto's cherry blossoms are also incredibly beautiful.
The location is fantastic, and public transport is incredibly convenient. A two-minute walk to the left brings you to the subway, which offers direct lines to Kyoto Station, Nara, and Uji. A ten-minute walk to the right, and you'll find bus stops with direct routes to Kinkaku-ji (Golden Pavilion) and Kiyomizu-dera. Nijo Castle is so close you can even walk there – it's unbelievably convenient! There...
The hotel is just a short walk from the subway station, which is super convenient. There's also a bus stop about 10 meters from the subway, making it really easy to get around. It only takes 25 minutes to get to Kinkaku-ji Temple. The hotel breakfast is excellent and offers a good variety. Nice hotel with very helpful staff.
Enjoyed small friendly restaurants around the hotel. You can go to Kyoto using public transportation easily.
Staff was very friendly and the room was quite clean. My only wish is that the Air Conditioning was a bit stronger. I am from the North and used to brutal winters. We like it cold.
The room was spacious and clean. The staff was friendly and helpful and held our bags since we arrived in Kyoto before check in time. The hotel was conveniently located near a train station and several convenience stores. Only complaint was that the bathroom was on a steep step that was not labeled. My friend and I stumbled on it a couple times before getting used to it.
It was very clean, the staff were polite and pleasant, and I would definitely stay here again. Thank you.

My second time staying in an APA hotel. Very positive experience. The room is large enough for a solo traveler like me. The room is very quiet, comfortable and clean. The staff are friendly and professional. Great location. The hotel is very close to Kyoto Station and it’s just about seven minutes walk. Highly recommended.
Pretty close to kyoto station. Room is cheap but small. One suit case is all it takes to block the entrance. Staff was nice enough to guide me through a Suitcase transfer.
My partner and I stayed at the APA HOTEL Kyōto Eki-kita for five (5) nights in late March of 2025. The location is great - it's really close to Kyoto station and on the side with all the bigger shops. The bed was comfortable and the water pressure in the shower was great. But we ran into multiple issues/ compromises that would have influenced us to stay elsewhere if we had known: 1. The room was...
Coming in to Kyoto, this was the hotel that we decided to stay in. Despite their small rooms, they are very clean. There’s no weird smell and whatnot. The services are also great. We came in a little early and they offered to hold our bags, so we can explore around the city. As we checkout (we have large luggages at the time, which was a problem as there’s no 1 day delivery due to the snow) they offered...
It was very reasonable and I was able to spend time slowly. I turned on the heating at night, but it was a little cold because the cold wind from the outside came in through the gap in the window.

Small but clean room. Bus stop and metro station are close to the hotel. Noisy from the road near the hotel.
Rooms in This hotel is quite small. But actually common in japan
The room is small but very clean. However, the location is not great.
good location, the bus stop in front of hotel. near Lawson and market. Walk until corner traffic light have a good ramen.
Decent clean rooms , fast check in process . Breakfast was affordable at 500 yen ! However there was only ONE elevator for the whole hotel and it can be very slow during the busy periods Found a recommended supplement to help with sleep !

Honestly an amazing value for money. Yes the breakfast is not the biggest, but there's tea, coffee, toast and jam. There are even instant noodles. And even though there's no room service included, you get fresh towels every day so that's totally fine!
This is a quite good budget hotel. The staff is not very attentive but maybe because it’s a budget hotel. The breakfast includes toast with butter and jam and noddles. I chose to stay at Pocket Hotel near Gojo Subway Station for my cherry blossom viewing trip in Kyoto. It was incredibly clean and hygienic, with separate accommodations and bathing facilities for men and women. I'll definitely stay here again next time. It offers excellent value for money and is very clean. Truly a great choice!
It feels like a boutique hotel but at a hostel price point, offering the perfect balance of privacy and community. The rooms are cleverly designed and spotless, while the communal lounge is a great place to plan your day. Being so close to the subway and Kyoto’s best shrines, it’s the ideal home base for exploring.
The hygiene was good, but you have to make your own futon. The front desk service was also very good. I arrived in Kyoto in the morning feeling very tired, so I paid extra to check in early, and I could even pay with Alipay.
This place is AMAZING for its price point. Everything is sparkling clean and quite new. The location is amazing as it is just next to the metro station. It is also quite close to the bus station and that's important as buses are way more convenient than trains in Kyoto. For food, there are cheap franchised restaurants around and 7-eleven right opposite. In terms of service, the staff there are friendly...
I had a very satisfying trip. It was very convenient to get to several places from here.
This hotel is in a super convenient location, very close to the subway exit. It's also really quiet, and there are plenty of dining options nearby like Yoshinoya, McDonald's, and three Japanese restaurants, all at reasonable prices. Great stay. The room was clean, comfortable, and surprisingly quiet at night. Convenient location with easy access to buses and Kyoto stn. Staffs were polite and helpful throughout the stay. Overall, very good value for money and would stay again.
We had a very good stay here. The location is not super central but Kyoto Station and also the city center are walkable. There is even a happy hour for guests with free alcohol.
We had a wonderful stay in this hotel during our trip at Kyoto. This hotel offers unlimited beverages at lobby which allow us to have a quick coffee or tea before day trip and a rest after whole day of outing. Highly recommend staying at this hotel.
Clean and tidy, with warm and friendly service! However, there are many restrictions on using the top-floor facilities.
The hotel is an easy walk from the station and it’s easy to access main tourist attractions from here. Good price but the location is quite far with few eateries and shops nearby…
The hotel is located near Gojo and Omiya, a bit far from the subway, but thankfully there's a bus stop nearby that can take you to popular destinations. The room, though small, is clean and tidy with complete facilities. The breakfast is simple, suitable for solo travelers.
Excellent service, fantastic environment, and good breakfast.
It’s far away from the station and the shopping centre. I went there at night and it was a really long way from the station. Friendly reminder, they charged for late check out very strictly. I was late for 20 minutes and the receptionist asked me to check out at 11 directly and paid for ¥1000. It is still value for money though.
The hotel is very close to Nishi Hongan-ji Temple, and Higashi Hongan-ji Temple is not much further, both are highly recommended attractions. Breakfast was decent, a buffet. Luggage storage at the front desk is free (for the same day only). The hygiene was good, and you could get small packets of facial cleanser and lotion at the front desk, which were of decent quality.

Exceeded our expectations! It is our first time to try a Checkin hotel and we weren't expecting much.
